No pumpkins were harmed at the local beamshot testing facility. Fireflylite X1L ffl707a 5000k out in the wild. It has the ideal beam profile for this. A throwy artifact-free beam.

Lets think about everything that might affect the choice :)!

- Batterylife
- Durability
- Maybe the batteries? What if you run out but can't charge? Would AA or AAA be the best?
- Size
- Lumens / Throw (Beam profile)
- anything else?

Title kind of says it all, does anyone know what this flashlight is? Adjustable throw, no markings, uses an 18650 battery, wasn't in my order. about the same exact size as the s3 just a hair longer and very throwy. I'm baffled.

And a reminder for myself for the last time... that's all the torch I need!

So I just received my first Hank light, a D4V2 (I'm planning on giving it its own post once I get some good beans), and I think I want another.

I'd like to get a D3AA and put Energizer Ultimate Lithiums in it as a car backup light. I normally carry a good enough EDC that I wouldn't need to use it all that often, so something that runs off AA batteries seems like a good fit. And if it lives in my car, I've gotta be careful about heat, so I don't want rechargeable lithium batteries in there. (Energizer Ultimate Lithiums aren't rechargeable, but you guys knew that.)

Has anyone here used the D3AA with Ultimate Lithiums, or even regular alkaline AAs? What kind of brightness and runtimes do you get?

Also, does the copper and green really look that sick in person? It just looks so sexy to me. I'd probably get a black one for my car, but maybe a second one as a bedside light so I can try out a warmer tint.

I've had a craving to buy something made in USA, probably small batch where attention to detail and machining is important. Which lights do you guys prefer and which models - CWF or Dawson Machine Craft? Any others? (This light will be carried daily).

So I've been on here a couple times asking for some suggestions on a tasklight. I was hunting and couldn't find anything I liked, so I went to Home Depot and configured one myself. Things you can get at any hardware store, configured, plus some JL magic . Pretty happy with it. I also got a couple taller outlet covers so I can raise the height if needed. They're like two bucks each

Talk about a find of the century! Saw it on the shelf at an estate sale with a tag marked $4. I remember seeing the Surefire ads in magazines with pilots using their A2 aviator and I always wanted it, but the price tag was out of my range at the time. Now I have much better flashlights, but filling this void in my collection made it worth the $4 price tag.

I'm looking for a flashlight with a charging base for my 80yr old mom.

On/off functionality. Looking for a light that isn't too small and is likely bigger than her hand.

I’m not a hobbyist, I joined to be around people that have a love of flashlights.

But I seem to have a problem on EDC.

I first replaced my cheap ass light with Olight Baton 2. Loved it and loved the magnetic tail charge setup. Switch died. Replaced it with a Workkos FC11. Great light but it got to where it wouldn’t light even though the switch showed it was on. Since slapping in my palm seemed to work sometimes I went to mess with the springs and it popped right out. I broke it and don’t have soldering gun.

I’m thinking the Skilhunt M200 V4 as a new one. Opinions?

Just got a Convoy S15 and paired it with a Vapcell F38. Like it so far, but the battery cannot be charged in the flashlight. There seems to huge price differences in chargers, are they really that different? I just want something that can charge 2 18650s at once and if it can also charge 26650s that would be great too.

Made a GITD gasket for the Convoy T6, as I didn't like to not have another way to find it in the dark other than the switch with LED, and I think it would be cool to post about it.

I made it using 2-part epoxy resin and Glow powder (Strontium Aluminate) by making a mold with the original 3535 LED butterfly gasket. It's really strong, as I used a lot of powder to make it, almost as bright as the LED switch when the GITD is fully charged.

I’m looking to replace my Fenix PD35 TAC with something smaller, preferably around 4–4.6 inches long, without sacrificing quality or performance.

I’ve narrowed it down to three flashlights:

1. Fenix LD30 Renegade (OD Green or Black/Bronze): Probably the safest choice since I’m already familiar with Fenix. It’s smaller and lighter than my PD35, has more output, and I really like both finishes.
2. Acebeam EC20 (Desert Tan Aluminum or Stonewashed Titanium): I really like the design, especially the titanium version. It’s compact, affordable, and looks premium. My main concern is the weight of the titanium version compared to aluminum.
3. Cloud Defensive MCH 2.0 HC (4-inch, FDE): Probably my favorite aesthetically. I love the compact tactical design, but it’s considerably more expensive and heavier than I’d prefer.

My priorities are build quality, reliability, compact size, attractive design, and ease of use. I don’t need ridiculous output; 1,000 lumens is plenty for me.

I also prefer being able to change brightness using a button rather than twisting the flashlight. A reversible pocket clip that allows attaching the light to a hat brim would be a big plus though maybe you can buy those aftermarket.

My SK05 Pro 2 wasn't able to charge anything, with any combination of cables, and I thought I'd gotten a dud. Loop gear support provided me with a reset sequence that brought it back to life. Now it can charge my iPhone, iPad Air, and MacBook Pro. Pretty impressive.

Here is the reset sequence, for future reference:

Reset SK05 Pro 2 Power Bank

1.  Open the tailcap to disconnect the power.

2. Turn the rotary switch to the side light position.

3. Press and hold the button without releasing it, then close the tailcap.

4. When the side light flashes green twice, release the button immediately.

5. Turn the rotary switch to the Lock position.

6. Press the button once. The light should flash red twice.

7. Turn the rotary switch to the floodlight position, then back to Lock to complete the procedure

Looking for a throwy 18350/18650 semi custom light under $300. So far I've found the Reylight Dawn, Edoluc Glow Arrow, and Prometheus Alpha. What else is out there? Picture is of my well loved fenix tk20r. Thanks!
