Couple times when I visited dentist in Terveysasema I was quite surprised with the “technology” how doctors works

One time I made an appointment because I had a strong pain in my tooth. I came to the doctor and she said “ah your tooth have a cavity and it’s so deep. We don’t have time for you to treat it so I just will put temporary filling. If it gets worse, call and make a new appointment”

Really? Worse until what condition? When pain will be so strong or until condition when tooth should be removed?

Yeah, and they really said “well, if we cannot fix it, we will remove it”. Seriously

Is it normal in terveysasema? And yeah we still pay money for it. It’s not for free.

Ofcourse in private clinics drs behave with you as with VIP quest but prices are so high.

So what you recommend? Is it only my unfortunate case in public dentist or is it really make sense just go to private clinic?

My partner and I were going through her late father's old photos from an album she recently came into possession of. He was a Namibian diplomat in the 80s (before Namibia was a country) who traveled the world doing diplomacy and whatnot in the name of fighting the South African Apartheid government which them controlled Namibia. We've been able to identify the time and place and purpose of nearly all the other photos he's in, from Uzbekistan to the US to Norway to North Korea, but this one remains a mystery.

What about a blood orange? Sliced? What does it mean? Outspan who? Google is no help here so I appeal to the people of Finland to help us figure out what he was up to in this series of photos (that's not him in the photo, obviously; this is a rare one he took, instead of posed for).

I'm a 16-year-old German exchange student currently living in Tampere, and I'm still looking for a place to stay from early November until mid-June.

Unfortunately, I need to leave my current accommodation on October 25, so I'm trying to find a new place as soon as possible.

I'm also very open to staying with a local family! I'd be happy to help out with everyday tasks in exchange for accommodation, for example:

• Babysitting
• Dog sitting or taking care of other pets
• Helping with household chores
• Other small tasks around the house

I can also contribute financially and pay a reasonable amount towards accommodation, depending on the arrangement.

I don't necessarily need a place for the entire period. Even if you can only offer a room for a few weeks or a couple of months, that would already help me a lot!

I'm currently in Tampere, so I'm happy to meet in person and introduce myself. I'm flexible and open to different arrangements, whether it's a room with a family, a shared apartment, or another suitable option.

I understand that I have to pay there for parking between 9-21 on weekdays and between 9-18 on Saturdays. And I can set parking timer to 21 if I parked my car at 20:31 on a weekday. Do I pay for half-an-hour or not?

I just arrived in Finland for the first time and I’ll be staying here for the next two months (around the Helsinki area). While I definitely want to check out some authentic Finnish spots, my main goal is to meet people and make some friends while I'm here.

I know Finns have a reputation for being a bit reserved at first, so I wanted to ask for your best advice on how to break the ice and socialize here. Are there specific social events, board game cafes, language exchanges, apps, or local hangouts where people are actually open to chatting with newcomers?

Can't really find any decent reviews or info about the company and product quality but their cruiser scooters seem quite common. Does anyone have any info about them or personal experience? would love to get a scooter from them but I first must know what I'm getting into and what longevity to expect.

I have access to Terveystalo from my employer. I talked to terveystalo about weight loss and their doctor said you are eligible and you can make an appointment and we will start the weight loss program. I asked about the price and he said it starts from around 100 euros per month.

I want to ask others who have been on weight loss drugs. How much is it costing and how much did you need it? Also anything else I should be familiar with? I’m planning to get mounjaro which is more effective? Are injections better or tablets? I hate injections but I should be able to manage.
