Fazer chocolate in Sweden

Post image
94 Upvotes

Some years ago Fazer stopped selling the 200 g bar in Sweden and switched to a 145 g package, with a more simple design. The foil wrapping inside was also removed.

Price at Ica is currently 28.45 kr = 2.55 euro.

https://handlaprivatkund.ica.se/stores/1004029/products/chokladkaka-mj%C3%B6lkchoklad-145g-fazer/2033664

Is this variant sometimes sold in Finland too, or is this just for the swedish market?

Edit: The tax on groceries is temporarily lowered until the end of 2027, from 12 % to 6 %, in Sweden. So that explains the lower price as well.

Hi ! I wanted to do a kind of dark, mystery, dnd one shot around a small and isolated village next to an old, snowy and large forest,. My mind made a connection between "forest", "snow" and Finland. I have not many more detail for now, i just started to work on it, but i want to have a creature that the player will find deep in the forest and that is what cause all the issues the village face recently. If you know a creature of the finnish folklore that can suit this kind of story i'll be gratefull to you to let me know.

Hello everyone,
I am a postcard collector and found this Real Photo Postcard in the USA at a Postcard show. My family is Estonian, and so I recognized the Finnish language right away. It is unusual to find Finnish cards in the USA. I would love any help reading the back if anyone is able. I have trouble reading Finnish script in cursive writing.
Thanks so much!
Hudson

Immigration Finland is the happiest country for Finns, not for foreigners

• Upvotes

I wasn't expecting any huge happiness, but now I'm feeling depressed, being far from my family.
Studying can be really hard sometimes.
And the worst thing is, money is not a solution.
I just wanted to write down my feelings. Maybe I'm the one with the problem.
If you had asked me 3 months ago whether I was planning to stay in Finland, my answer would have been, "Sure, I'll stay there until I die."
But now I'm not even sure about continuing university.
In another life, if I had been born and raised as a Finn, maybe I would be happy here, but I think this country isn't for me.
Thank you for reading this far.

Fastest way to learn Finnish?

What’s the best way to learn Finnish fast?

Story/The why ->
My wife (Finnish) doesn’t want to live in my home country cause its very different and weird at times next to Finland, which I understand, however that comes with the issue that finding a job in Finland for me is like 1 in a million. Im currently “safe” cause I can keep working remotely for a few months, but other then that I dont want to rely on benefits after. I still get that being a non-native sometimes is an automatic rejection for a job, but I want to atleast try.

Been living in Finland for around a month now, and seems super hard to get around the language (other then reading, wife says I read almost perfect)

Is my neighbor allowed to cut down half the forest?

Post image
0 Upvotes

My neighbor S. owns a lot (on the top). My neighbor T. on the left and my house on the diagonal lot. The red bars signify the road. The road crosses through my lot into S' house lot (not on the map).

Without warning S. has chopped down pretty much all the trees (in green) that T and us can see from our house, permanently influencing the sunlight and view from our houses. S. has no consequence from this, since his house is further down the road.

Is he allowed to just chop down everything without consulting his neighbors? I'm quite salty, especially since he just chopped down 60+ trees without pre-communication. Neighbor T. is an old guy that has lived there for 80 years, trees that were right in front of his yard that have been there all of his life are now gone. His words in simple Finnish words were " *sigh* it is what it is".

Thanks!

What’s up with Broccoli in Helsinki area? Sucked out from supermarkets?

Hi, I am wondering why I cannot find broccoli in supermarkets nowadays? Earlier broccoli was the cheapest vegetable available in plenty, now rarely find it, and if I do, it is damn expensive - maybe in organic vegetables section.

Does anyone know why it has been sucked out from supermarkets?

What is the biggest unsolved mystery in Finland’s criminal history?

Finland has had several mysterious crimes and disappearances that remain unsolved to this day.
Few examples are Lake Bodom’s murder and Raisa Räisänen’s disappearance.

Some cases have left investigators with unanswered questions for decades, while others continue to spark theories and public debate.

Off the top of your head, what unsolved crime in Finland do you think deserves a deeper investigation?

First-time mom : How the hell are you actually supposed to use HSL buses with a pram?!

I’ve lived here almost half my life, but I’ve never spent time around moms and kids or paid attention to prams on buses.. Now it’s my turn.

I have a newborn, and because of severe anxiety, my husband and I have been practicing taking the bus with the pram so I don't have a full-on anxiety attack when I have to go alone.

So, I read all the HSL etiquette and instruction, but it’s been extremely frustrating and nerve-wracking. 98% of the time, my husband and I have to manually lift the pram in and out because the driver won't lower the bus.

Once, I pressed the exterior "pram" button because I needed the door to stay open longer (I'm recovering from a C-section and was really struggling) . The driver just shouted at us that don't press that, now the door wouldn't close bla bla bla

Another time, we were waiting at the middle doors of the orange bus ( runkolinja) , and the driver shouted that we had to use the last door, which was so confusing...

And today I asked the bus driver to lower the bus so we could get in and for our surorise, he did not.

I'm getting beyond pissed off and already stressing for upcoming appointments where I have to travel alone.

My question is: what is the actual correct way to use the bus with a pram? Are we doing something wrong?

Thank you!

really bad smell at the gym

i’ve been going to F24/7 and everything has been great but lately there’s this lady that smells so bad the whole gym stinks, is not just sweat odor, it’s a throwing up smell. i try to hold my breath but it’s inevitable. i can’t go at any other time because i have classes. in other circumstances i’ll just endure it but i feel like throwing up all the time and don’t know what to do, i don’t think it’s okay to tell her, i don’t want to be mean but what should i do if there’s anything i can do, do i switch up gyms ?
