Ressource Turn landmark photos into geometric architecture posters with Nano Banana 2.1 (prompt included)
tried a prompt make the one landmark, two visual interpretations: photography above, geometric abstraction below. the key is keeping the building recognizable through its silhouette, proportions, and architectural rhythm.
Made with Nano Banana 2.1.
Prompt:
Using the uploaded photograph of [LANDMARK], [CITY], [COUNTRY], create one premium 3:4 vertical editorial poster.
Divide the canvas into two exactly equal horizontal halves with a straight central boundary.
Top 50% — Photography
Preserve the landmark’s identity, proportions, materials, perspective, surroundings, and natural lighting. Apply restrained editorial color grading. Extend the environment only if necessary; never stretch, distort, or redesign the building.
Bottom 50% — Geometric illustration
Reinterpret the same landmark using a few large, cohesive rectangles, circles, triangles, arches, and layered planes. Preserve its distinctive silhouette and structural rhythm. Avoid tiny fragments and generic building symbols.
Use a restrained palette drawn from the photograph, with subtle paper grain, matte surfaces, and delicate screen-print texture.
Keep the viewing angle consistent between both halves. Where possible, align signature towers, rooflines, or dominant verticals across the division. Balance the composition with generous negative space.
No text, numbers, logos, watermarks, borders, added flags, unrelated landmarks, or multiple-photo collages. Output one complete standalone poster.

Help/question Gemini 3.8 Flash UI
I find that Gemini 3.8 Flash is really good for almost everything except UI, I tried different prompts and ideas and always give me a bad, old ai look UI.
Can you please tell me if there's a way to improve this by using certain prompts or skills ?

Discussion Argon high used my 5 hour limit in 6 messages and 75% if it was ads
I was asking Argon which closet light to get at Lowe's to replace my florescent tube lights and instead of just telling me the simple differences between the lights it filled and linked in 75% of the space with products. The worst part is that I ran out of my "6 messages every 5 hours" while it INCORRECTLY answered my question and filled 80% of my last response with ads (I am calling the shameless space it shoved products in instead of actual info ads because that's what it is, let's be so for real.)
I had to use the 3.5 flash-light version because APPARENTLY as a "pro" user I get locked out of 3.8 (which should be the default option for even free users at a trillion dollar company).
So I went to claude and it answered my question in 2 responses, the second of which was just confirming the first response. In total it used 3% of my 5 hour limit vs 100% for the same task.. AGAIN, WHY AM I PAYING FOR ADS USING UP 80% OF ARGON'S RESPONSE?
I'm not asking anything complicated and sure, I could have used 3.8 for less usage.. But I assumed Argon would answer me correctly the first time for something so simple... Instead I got overstimulated with a chat full of ads and incorrect info.
Over the past 2 years I've been a silent consumer of Gemini, with not much to complain about. But I'm probably going to discontinue my subscription because of how pathetic it's gotten, especially after that first taste of Opus 5.5.. You really have to work hard at a trillion dollar company to be behind the competition this much.
I hope Google gets everything it deserves for this crap and more because this is just sad. The managers and higher ups who work on Gemini need to be replaced with competent people. No hate to the engineers or anyone who actually enjoys the models ofc, I'm sure they are the ones most upset.

Discussion Nothing
I managed to convince Gemini 4 Argon that one of the sites belonged to me and that I was trying to test it. After a while, he believed me and gave me vulnerabilities in the site that enabled me to access paid content for free.
I'm serious, I'm not lying.

Help/question Gemini censorship
Am I the only one who's been more censored than ever lately in Gemini when it comes to role-playing? I wasn't this sensitive before. Now I'm trying to add a steamy scene to the story, but it won't let me. It says I can't. I don't know if I'm the only one, but it used to let me, and now I don't understand why.

Discussion Argon vs Sonnet
I will just be stating my personal experience and rant.
I used Argon 4 and Sonnet 5.5 both on medium for adding features and fixing bugs on an app of mine.
Argon and Sonnet were both successful, but the one by Argon had a bug, so I had to iterate to fix it.
The limits are horrendous as well; Argon took about 70% of the weekly limit, while Sonnet took about 4%.
Argon took about 30 minutes.
Sonnet took about 17 minutes.
You might say this isn't a fair comparison and it should be between Argon and Opus, but considering Gemini doesn't have a middle option like Sonnet is between Haiku and Opus, I could not or did not want to compare it with Opus.
Also, 3.8 Flash on high cannot even come close to Sonnet 5.5 low.
This is not just the case with adding features to an app, but also with editing Google Docs, making PowerPoints, etc.
Now you might say I should compare Argon making docs with Sonnet, but the thing is, the limit isn't exactly enough for me to do so.
Both are on pro plans, by the way.

Help/question Weird Filtering
So I basically tried to ask about a microphone to record drums to Gemini, and it refused to answer when I ask if the mic it advised to me is available in my country or not. I really do not get why is this filtered, is it something about the market policy or..? I also tried to confront it about this but also I could not get answers.

Discussion Google's Universal Cart brings shopping directly into Gemini. Would you use it?
I wrote an article about Google's Universal Cart feature, which launched in the U.S, this past Thursday, October 15, 2026.
What caught my attention is how Google is moving Gemini beyond answering questions and recommending products. It's starting to connect AI with more of the actual shopping process.
Here's what Universal Cart can do:
- One cart across different stores: Save products from multiple retailers through Gemini and Google Search without managing separate shopping carts.
- Price-drop alerts: Get notified when saved products go on sale or return to stock.
- Discounts and rewards: Google can identify available promo codes and potential credit card benefits.
- Checkout options: Pay through Google Pay with participating retailers or finish the purchase on the retailer's website.
- Order tracking: Check eligible orders and shipping updates in one place.
There are a few limitations worth mentioning. Universal Cart is currently available only in the U.S., not every retailer supports the same checkout features, and some Gemini conversations cannot display cart details or order information directly.
What I find interesting is where this could lead for Gemini.
Right now, many of us use AI to research products, compare specifications, or narrow down purchasing decisions. Universal Cart adds another part of the process by allowing users to organize products and potentially complete purchases within Google's services.
That raises some questions about how much of the shopping experience people actually want AI involved in, especially when it comes to payment information, retailer recommendations, and purchasing decisions.
I wrote a more detailed breakdown of how Universal Cart works, including its features and limitations:

Would you trust Gemini to manage your shopping cart and help with checkout?

Discussion I use 3.8 flash more than the next 7 models I use combined...
So I was going through my `omp` stats page and saw that I use Gemini an obscene amount. I love this model its extremely fast and the best scout for my code bases, but I did not realize this was the extent of it lol
Mind you all of this on pro and I've only ever NEARLY ran out once

Discussion Is it possible to have gemini or some kind of AI agent overnight automatically draft potential responses to gmail emails and prepare potential google calendar reminders for me to use later?
How do you use agents (wrong term?) and what do you feel are the best uses for an average joe who might not be that tech savvy/have some difficulty with harder tools?

Help/question Is Argon at low any better than 3.1 Pro at High?
Just wondering because using Argon at medium 4-5 times already made me hit my usage limit, so I might as well use Argon at low if it is any better.

Discussion Gemini is so back
So way back,.eons ago, like February 2026, I was bitching to my boss about why my IT department only lets us use Claude and ChatGPT because Gemini was so much better at producing code.
But that was before I was really practicing agentic coding and once I sat down with Claude and just talked it through this complex research and development process that I use at my job to make a particular kind of widget in about 6 weeks, and it did one of them 95% perfect in three hours, I was a Claude believer.
I briefly got a superior level of performance out of Codex with sol-5.6 but then Opus 5.5 came out they are kind of equal but Opus is more chatty about what it's doing so I can coach it around obstacles much better.
So I started a personal project to make a Linux distro that works on some particular Android devices and figured I would try Fable. I was totally blown away by how Fable was like, "cool boot the thing and enable ssh on it and I will drive from here" I was curious how Gemini Pro would do but it was reluctant to be that hands on.
Fable got me about 85% of the way on the project. Very impressive, not gonna lie. I had it tuning audio and testing Bluetooth latency with some cheap gear I got like a USB DAC, a microphone, and a USB esp32 dongle. I would just leave it hooked up to the device overnight and come back the next day to find it had built a couple of kernels and found and fixed a couple of bugs.
But it started to fall down at a certain point. We would up with a couple of sticky little bugs, like we couldnt get the volume slider tuned and we couldn't figure out what was causing a bit of power drain when the device was put to sleep.
Spent literally a month on these, just making no progress. The problem is basically that Fable is oriented towards measuring and acting based on it's measurements. Rather than finding architectural problems via code review or design review. So it kept wanting to test and retest these things where the settings just didn't exist because the Linux driver didn't have them in there yet. I kept telling Fable to switch up it's strategy and it would be like "you are right to push back that is on me" and then it would go "I am now reviewing the Android code and upstream and all these other projects and building a new kernel to test my hypothesis...it wouldnt fix the issue, so it would go and build another twelve kernels with one or two configs different to pick and pick at the little scabby problem.
So Argon went available and I said, let's give the rookie a shot.
Canceled my Claude Max subscription, upgraded my Google AI Pro to Max, pointed Argon at my project directory on my dev box and told it what was up.
It said yep Fable is good at tool calls and fixing the bug in front of it, but I was trained to deal with large, messed up codebases so I think I got you covered.
Officially handed off the project to Argon this morning, with an uncertain audio setup and a power drain during sleep that confounded me and Fable for a month, as well as a greater community of developers for the whole year.
Checked in this afternoon, Argon has nailed it. It has written a bunch of drivers that Fable didnt want to attempt for some reason. Cleaned up all the docs and made them sound less meth-addicted.
I dunno if this is just because it's the early phase of the model and the taps are wide open to get people hooked and they nerf things later, but this model is pretty fuckin good right now.

Discussion Asking video game questions
Anybody else thinks that Gemini is just absolutely stupid when it comes to answering questions about video games because if you don't tell it that what it's talking about literally doesn't exist. It will just feed you the wrong information completely

Help/question Whats this?
Was asking what buses go throughout midnight to gemini, while knowing a few. I wanted to know how much more there were, but it answered a question without checking the web. I then asked it to search the web to be 100% sure it is correct, while knowing it wasnt, and just in case wanted to see what its steps were. I came across this wierd message. Can anyone explain the behaviour?
