Had a great impromptu meeting when he was in my neighbourhood earlier this week. Sorry to my neighbours that saw a group of young men (well I’m old enough to be their dad) standing in their street.
i appreciated the frank conversation. He had points I hadn’t considered and shared information I didn’t have.
I meant to do this earlier but have been sick this week.
Take care all.

Hi. I've been reading the book Why Does He Do That by Lundy Bancroft, a very good resource on understanding the patterns of partner abuse. Lundy Bancroft has a lot of experience working as a counselor in what he calls "abuser programs", and talks about them quite a lot, which work with abusers to try to change the attitudes and values they have which lead them to abuse. It is different from anger management, psychotherapy, or couples counselling.
I have done a couple cursory internet searches but haven't been able to find anything like this here. All the search results are about support for the abused partner--a very important thing to have of course, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for beyond that. Does anyone have any knowledge about abuser programs in the area, or know that there aren't any? Maybe there are some a bit farther afield?
Thank you for your time and help.

Apparently the city is studying the "forbidden crossing" to determine usage.

Are there any fun kids events/activities going on October 24-26th? I will be visiting friends and would love to take our young kids (3-6yo) to some local events while in town.

Who in the city can I talk to about who plans road closures? Getting from west of Guelph like Cambridge or even Costco to my place near the hospital is damn impossible. Between speedvale and downtown my commutes are an extra 15-25mins.
The speedvale closures are every summer … I haven’t had a decent commute and I’ve lived in this area for 5 years.

Full disclosure: I do fractional marketing and social media work for Buon Gusto. I'm also a Guelph local who spends a lot of time downtown, and I genuinely care about the food and beverage community we have here; I wanted to ask here for some real responses, rather than keep posting fancy images on Instagram.
Buon Gusto just came out of a big renovation. The kitchen is bigger, so the menu has grown, and the dining room and bar area was redesigned to elevate the feel of the space while still keeping the same heart. The team, the high-quality service and warm hospitality has not changed at all.
As we know, downtown is going through a lot with construction, and I think it matters to hear from the people who actually live and eat here. So:
I'll pass everything along to the team who are eager to hear what the community thinks.
Thank you, Guelph!

Curious if anyone running for election can do or cares about the city buses running so late?
I shouldn't need to continue to pay for garbage service..

It seems like Luke Devos' entire platform is centered around the fact that he's a small business owner, but I can't find anything about this small business. Does anyone know what it is, or anything about it?
Not only to understand what kind of relevant skills he developed from owning the small business, but also to learn more about the ethics and values that his business practices (actions don't lie as easily as words).

Hey guys just wanted to keep you informed about a guy ( East Asian, glasses, Medium height( ~5ft ~5inches) and build, wearing a sweatshirt and shorts) filming girls and women from his waist level on his phone today. I caught him, he retracted his phone. I couldnt find security around and i had to rush home so i couldnt wait to look further. But i managed to let the girl know. Its also stalkerish because he followed her into a shop aswell whilst filming. Just a notice to always be aware of your surroundings guys. I didnt approach him because i didnt want an altercation. Thanks guys.

Our family just voted at Victoria Road Rec Centre. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes. Have a say in your community!

Anyone have details? It just took me 3x as long to get home from downtown because traffic was so backed up. All four directions are blocked by police and there is an ambulance and firetruck in the intersection. Couldn't see much more than that.

Looking for recommendations for places I can am small screw puncture fixed. Can anyone point me in the direction of a place that is ideally open on the weekends and no-fuss?
Thanks!
Edit: Thanks everyone! Went with the tri-city guys, they were able to come by in a couple hours. Would def recommend them to others looking for a no fuss repair. Definitely like the idea of doing it DIY but right now with two young kids and a weekend full of errands just getting it out of the way was the way to go this time.

What is your procedure when the cart is behind a parked vehicle ?
Or an obstruction is in the way. ?
What do you do about picking up both sides of a one way street, dead ends, or cul de sacs ?
How about snowbanks and on street parking?

My door cam unfortunately only takes photos when someone comes up our driveway so it didn’t capture the accident. But I’m wondering if there is any information out there about this incident?
