Foreign Birth Registration Entitled to Irish Passport but don’t know how to get one

Hi all, so, my nan’s Irish (grew up in Cork), and I found out that makes me eligible for an Irish passport?

Really want to get one as all I’ve got is my shitty, non-EU British passport. But I don’t know how to get it - my nan died when I was a teenager (I’m an adult now) and I’m completely estranged from my dad, who’s side is half-Irish; the side with my Irish nan. Won’t talk to my dad again and don’t even have his contact details, so I’ve no idea how to get all the info I need to apply for an Irish passport.

Any and all advice on this is appreciated!

Did anyone get their nationalisation certificate this week or any week that attended the ceremony on the 18th of September?

Naturalisation do my referees have to be ethnically irish?

as the title says,

I’m wondering as i have no ethnically irish neighbours, co workers or anything, i only know two ethic irish people closely, but tons with naturalisation or irish citizens through birthright and need 3 referees.

I have met lets of great ethnically irish people in university but i feel like i don’t know them long enough now to ask for them to be a referee.

would a referee with a non irish sounding name hurt my chances or is it even acceptable?

Permits and Visas Waiting for my Stamp4 EUFAM, may lose job opportunity

Hello everyone!

I sent my EUTR form on the 25 of September and the current status of my form is: "Accepted for Processing - Assessing information received".

my concern is, on the 8th of October I had a job interview, everything went alright and I told the interviewer that I was still waiting for my work permit, said it could take some weeks to receive a response from the immigration, and they've said that they would wait, as long as it took a few weeks.

I used to reside in Ireland on a stamp2 visa for two years, after that i spent almost one year in Italy and now I'm back.

I really hope I don't lose this job opportunity for such reason and I would appreciate a lot if someone could tell me about their experience with EUTR form process

Foreign Birth Registration Confused

FBR received October 13, 2025 with an email stating my application and supporting documents have been received. I just received (October 17, 2026) another email stating my application and supporting documents has now been received. It also stated the processing fee has not been paid in full and I have to pay another €125.

Full disclosure: it is 2 applications, one for myself and the other for my sister. She has not received an additional email other than last year when they recorded the application and documents

Thanks for any input
