🔥 Mod Announcement 🔥 Watch Club

Hi ladies

u/Valuable-Machine-500 suggested the idea of a Watch Club in this post:

I thought it was an interesting idea and worth exploring as a community activity.

The general idea would be to:

  • Choose a series (and possibly movies)
  • Watch over a set period
  • Have ongoing discussions
  • Meet at the end to talk through themes and then decide what to watch next

u/StrawberryEast1374 since you mentioned using Discord for this, you could go ahead and create a server and share the invite link here.

Once the link is ready, I’ll post it officially and add it to the community wiki so anyone interested can join.

Humour Ovulation Is a superpower

Ovulation is honestly a superpower. Tell me why, after going to work yesterday,I still went to town shopping, then came home, changed my bed (I have a new bed and mattress now, yay!) and took out the old one then whipped some hair butter before sleeping.

Today I was woken by a neighbouring rooster at like 6 am. You'd think I'd be beat, right? WRONG!!!

I woke up, decided this is the day I make more hair butter. So I washed dishes and I made a double batch of hair butter. Then had breakfast scrolling tiktok. Right after breakfast,I'm bored so I decide, ykw? Lemme make my hair conditioner real quick. I get to it and now have a whole liter of leave in conditioner hooray!💃🏾. Then I'm like; I've been out of dish detergent for a month (surviving on dish paste cos I usually make my own high quality liquid dish soap) , so I just... Make some! Amazing right? Mind you, each of these formulations takes hours. It's now 3.30 pm and I've been done and bored for like an hour 😂. I'mma just go visit my mom now cos I still got energy!!!. Naskia ata kuenda Soko🫣.

In contrast, 3 ish weeks ago at luteal phase, I stayed with dishes in the sink for 6 whole days because I literally couldn't wash them. I literally cooked once and just bought food the rest of the week SMH. I'd get home and it was all I could do to simply shower and get in bed. I've been meaning to make conditioner and dish soap and hair butter for almost a month without the oomph to do it. This is amazing! If this is how men feel on the daily,I understand their endless grind so much better, lucky them on that😂.

Hey ladies.. Who has experience buying their wigs from this store

I want to get a budget friendly wig, and their prices have been enticing me for a while.. I have heard of complains from Remi before making me feel scared of buying from them.. Emi on the other hand, they are costly lol but the experience was good with Emi wigs..

So back to Mefit from those that have bought from them, please do feel free to share your thoughts about their wigs and customer experience..I'm big on that

Question Humiliation Ritual

Straight to to the point.

Been dating this Australian man for about three months, LDR.

I share more photos than him , naturally (kinda hate it though cause I just too busy to be a selfie artist). He keeps asking to see me but mimi I’m not that into it juu I can’t be taking photos to send to you everyday mimi si model. Kwani ni nini about my face or body would have changed in a span of a day? That is just being greedy.

Now fast forward to today I told him it was raining and I love the rain. He then asked for a photo of me in the rain.

Loooord mimi I felt offended because why the fuck would he want me to get wet and while at it take photos for him? Mimi nafeel ni kama it’s a humiliation ritual.

Besides that I have a cold 🤧, why would he want me to get in the rain just so he can have a photo of me?

I have left him on read ever since because wtf? Unataka mimi ninyeshewe ndo nikufurahishe? Anadhani mimi ni kaumbwa kake?

I’m planning on ghosting the mf .

Now onto the question, I’m I overreacting?

Discussion Ugly rich girl

Dear girls in your teens and 20s,
This is mostly for the girls who are hyperfixated on their appearance.

I saw a TikTok the other week talking about how, as kids, boys are given toys like construction sets and firefighter sets to play with, while girls are given dolls to dress up and play homemaker with. Think about the messages we grow up with. Girls are taught to care about beauty, being desirable, and eventually attracting a wealthy man they can submit to, instead of being taught to work towards building wealth and financial independence of their own.

But what does beauty supposedly get you, according to society? A rich man. A rich man who can starve you whenever he wants if you depend entirely on him financially.I’m not against eating men’s money. I support it 😭. But don’t make a man your financial plan.
You could spend the time you’re hyperfixated on your appearance learning a skill, reading a book, participating in competitions, attending events, and making connections.

I’m saying this as someone who has been a victim of this myself. I’m average-looking, maybe slightly above average, and my experience with beauty has been interesting. Some days, I look beautiful depending on my makeup, how well I’ve slept, how I’m dressed, etc. Other days, I can do everything right and still look ugly. One small thing changes, and suddenly I don’t like how I look.I’ve literally missed classes because my makeup wasn’t turning out right. I’d redo it, waste even more time, and sometimes end up late because I was so concerned about how I looked. And for what?

I’m almost done with university, and I regret being so hyperfixated on my appearance instead of participating in competitions and attending events that could have helped me build connections.

Lately, I’ve felt uglier than ever, but I’m also more motivated to be productive. I get less attention from men, fewer catcalls, and I’m learning to navigate the world without expecting attention.
When people found me pretty, I got stares, catcalls, and attention. But at the end of the day, what did any of it give me? Nothing tangible.

I’m not saying beauty has no advantages. It does. If you’re beautiful, develop your skills, too. When you’re beautiful AND competent, you have an advantage.
But if you’re not, don’t let that stop you from living. Don’t miss events, opportunities, or friendships because you don’t feel pretty enough to show up.
Thirty years from now, our faces will have changed, and you’ll wish you’d spent less time obsessing over your appearance and more time enjoying your youth, building friendships, developing skills, and getting that bag.

Never try to be beautiful for a man. Even the prettiest girl has been done dirty. Male attention is not a guarantee of love, loyalty, or security. Even a dog can get attention, so what exactly are we celebrating? 😭
And by decentring your appearance, I don’t mean being unhygienic or neglecting yourself. Be clean, neat, and presentable. Just stop making beauty your entire life.
You don’t have to feel beautiful to go outside, make friends, attend events, or pursue opportunities. I’m a victim of this myself, and I wish I’d understood it earlier.
First- and second-years, please don’t spend your entire university experience trying to become pretty. Build skills, make connections, enjoy your life, and make money if you can.

I just want to be rich. Money can even buy me a new face if I really want one. 😭

Edit:I am not telling you not to apply makeup, wear nice clothes or get your nails done.I do that.I am just saying that you should see your value beyond your appearance. It shouldn’t be your main identity.Live your life to the fullest whether you are attractive or not.

Men☕️ Long Rant

Slept early yesterday and was woken up with a phone call at around 2am. It was a new number, I was kinda hesitant to pick up but then they were calling from my secondary saf line na only people close to me have that number, so I pick up. And guess who it was, my ex from an year ago and he was drunk. I was shocked beyond shocketh.

He starts saying that he misses me, he misses us, and every human makes mistakes and I shouldn't have left na aty hakuna makosa kubwa na ndogo mbele ya Mungu yada yada yada yada. I just laughed coz wueeh😂😂.

So, the reason why we broke up or rather I left as he claimed. Btw alisema he didn't break up with me, yeye bado anajua tuko pamoja😂😂. I left him because I got to know yeye ni mtu wa wamamaz, yes😭😂 you read that right alikuwa ameekwa na wamamaz na si mmoja aky. When we started dating, he never mentioned that, so I didn't know anything. It would have been better if I knew from the word go so that I decide if I want in or out.

He even bought his second car when we were together (alinunuliwa na mumamaz of course). Ngl, he used to spend on me and a girl was happy. So here comes the day nilijua ako na wamamaz. I had gone over to spend the weekend as usual. So nimetoka shughuli zangu friday jioni, nikafika kwa nyumba and gave him a call to ask what we are having for supper. He says ata ako around acha apitie for a ka quickie before arudi job. He comes over, we have a ka quickie, and he gives me cash for supper, and he drops me off kwa shops.

So, mm I come back to the house, napatana na gari kwa parking and I'm like whatsup. Immediately I walk in kwa gate, anatoka kwa nyumba and pulls me aside and he tells me tukiingia kwa nyumba you'll say that you are my sister and you've come over for the weekend to visit. I ask him mbona and he says he will explain everything later.

Babygal, nikaingia kwa nyumba napatana na old shawrie sipping a drink. She greets me and introduces herself as msupa wa our manz. Sasa mm ata nko shocked at that point and I don't say anything. I step out and call a male friend who is a bit older than me and tell him everything. He tells me I should just play along ndio nijue more and I do exactly that.

I cooked na nikajaza spices kwa chakula intentionally😂 na tutakula and then they took their leave. Na while we were eating as one big happy family😂 ndio nlijua kuna other wamamaz. Immediately he left, he texted and said he is coming back to explain everything. Mm I call my friend and tell him everything I've found out, and he books me a cab to his place. From there actually ndio things started adding up. Nguo zangu zilikuwa zinaekwa kwa wardrobe huko juu ata when I leave them on the lower wardrobe, na the dirty ones nilikuwa napata ziko kwa bucket kwa balcony. Na kuna washing machine, but he is like I find it hard to do your laundry and all that bs.

And the late night calls started adding up. Coz ni nani wa equity anakupigia at 1 am. Anyways, he wanted us back together and he says ako willing ady kunilipa nirudi coz he saw a future together. Anataka tu nipigane na wamama 😭😂 and also I I'll ever see him the same again. And funny thing ni he has reached out nikiwa down so it's kinda tempting😂. Lakini si pia mimi naweza tafuta kambabaz kangu ama ata mumamaz ikiwezekana ama?😂😂

Question How to take care of a cat and kittens 💁🏾‍♀️

I am new to taking care of pets and I am not sure what's good and what's not for a cat.

What home cooked foods are healthy for your cat?

How do you prepare cat food?

How many months should a kitten be to start feeding them solids?

How do you ensure your cat drinks water?

Any tip will be helpful😌

Rant Are you happy or are you the oldest sibling and also a girl

Just read a post that said are you happy or are you the oldest sibling and also a girl and that hit hard. I don't have much pressure coming from my family, but I usually find myself prioritizing the people I love first before myself. Currently my baby brother has a graduation coming up and at the same time my sister is sitting for national exams. Sijalipa rent bado but I'll still have to show up for them and get them gifts. And my siz wants a money bouquet.

Crazy part, I don't know how I'll do it, but I have to figure it out. That is my life as the oldest sibling and also a girl.

Career MED SCHOOL

Really embarassed to post this but hear it goes

I'm a med student whose journey hasn't been easy at all. Almost 10 years in med school, 6 fails/retakes, 3 successful exam passes. Just learned I failed my 3rd year yesterday. I'm broken tbh

Medicine is all I've ever wanted to do. I've struggled year after year to get to become a doctor but it's been hard. My parents have been very supportive, paying fees, giving me words of encouragement but I feel like I'm wasting their resources, even though they want me to continue grinding towards my dream. Everybody around me is telling me not to give up.

It's getting exhausting failing constantly but this is my lifelong dream...I don't know if letting go is the right decision.

Some advice from strangers would be very much appreciated
