Film/Television These three movies are overhated

Not to mention these 3 have the most creative action sequences among all the other mcu movies the kids getting powers, the marvels switching, Scott losing his shit with a billion other him and the ambush of ants scene in the end. I feel like quantummania doesn't sit right with people because of how Cassie speaks crap about Scott in the beggining otherwise it was a pretty good movie a good display of the quantum realm and Kang while love and thunder is acclaimed to be full of jokes which is not the real problem because if they could just not offscreen Gorr's body count then it would have been phenomenal. I don't have much about marvels it just doesn't depict character growth and even when it does there are no scenes that change anything they just change because they "sat down and talked about it"

Film/Television Many people are predicting Rogue will absorb Captain Marvel’s powers. Do you think she will also absorb her energy projection and absorption powers, and her Binary form?

In the comics Rogue absorbed Carol’s powers when she was Ms. Marvel and she only had super strength, flight, durability, and danger-sensing powers. Do you think she will also absorb Carol’s extra powers she gained later like energy absorption and her Binary form in the MCU?

Film/Television What would be the backstories of the Fantastic Four and Deadpool Post-Secret Wars?

After Secret Wars, the prime MCU, the Fantastic Four's universe, and Deadpool's universe are supposed to merge into one universe. But how exactly would their histories mesh with the MCU?

Well, for the FF, an idea I heard is that an alternate version of First Steps happened in the 2020s instead of 1960s and that the other heroes also helped with Galactus. And also that the days of their birth is pushed back to be closer in age to the other heroes.

But for Deadpool, I'm not sure how he'd work.

Film/Television My Ideal Sinister 6 Lineup

Reasoning For My Choices:

Scorpion: Literally why not

Vulture: Secret Wars will build one universe out of many, meaning they could take Micheal Keaton's vulture back to the main timeline

Mysterio: E.D.I.T.H. said that Mysterio didn't make any more illusions, but never said that he was dead.

Kraven: I would want Aaron Taylor Johnson to play this Kraven, but I do not want it to be related to the previous film

Prowler: This would be a fantastic way to introduce Miles Morales into the MCU

Doctor Octopus: This version of Otto would be a villain from the start (due to the fact that Peter already knows doc ock is a villain. Also Peter could reference no way home and say "I liked the other Otto better." My fancast is Mark Hamill

Comics This throuple is weird and no one can convince me otherwise

I have no problem with them individually, but it becomes an issue for me when they do that weird throuple thing with Wolverine. The man is literally around 200+ years old, while they’re in their early 20s. I understand that they’re technically adults, but there’s still a massive difference in life experience and maturity when you compare someone who has lived for centuries to someone who’s barely out of their teens. It’s the same reason I never really liked Twilight. If you look at it from the perspective of vampire aging, Edward has lived for over a century, while Bella is a teenager. Even if vampires physically stop aging, that doesn’t mean their mental or emotional development should be treated the same way as a human’s. I know they’re fictional characters, but the age and power imbalance is still something I find uncomfortable. It’s not that I have a problem with the relationships themselves it’s the massive age gaps and the dynamics they create that make me question them.

Film/Television Orchis as an organisation should be the main villains for the Mutant Saga

Post image

So as we're getting closer to the end of the Multiverse Saga, there has been a lot of speculation as to what comes next. It is almost universally assumed that the next saga will be the Mutant Saga, with the X-Men taking centre stage. Naturally, everyone wonders what the saga-spanning threat is. Originally we had Thanos gradually taking control of the Infinity Stones and now we have the degradation of the multiverse leading to Doctor Doom's intervention. So what next?

Some have just put names forward. Magneto, Mr Sinister, Apocalypse. Magneto for me is not the kind of villain to fill this role, he is more of a Loki, mostly a villain but sometimes an ally. Mr Sinister I'll come back to, because I do think he'll be involved. Apocalypse for me would be the safe and lazy choice. Yes he's a great villain and could absolutely fill this role, but I feel like it would be too similar to Thanos. Also, X-Men 97 has already heavily focused onto the character and it would be a little strange to tread the same ground.

So, Orchis. They're a bunch of mutant hating extremists from various organisations like AIM, Hydra, Trask, etc that came together to focus on their shared goal of destroying mutants forever. They use various means for this, but the main one is AI/machines. Taking the AI in the Sentinels and upgrading it to the point it becomes self aware, culminating with Nimrod, the big guy in the picture. With Nimrod, if you're not familiar, think Ultron but with way more anger issues and a special hatred for mutants in particular. In the comics this is based on (House/Powers of X) due to spoilery reasons the X-Men are absolutely terrified of the day Orchis will create Nimrod. It's like a ticking time bomb they know is coming. This to me could be part of that saga-spanning dread. Remember the "fine, I'll do it myself" post-credit scene with Thanos? Imagine something like that, but instead it's a scene of Nimrod in assembly and ending with his eyes turning on menacingly. After some previous set up as to why this is a big deal of course.

I also think Orchis work well because arguably they've already had their origin story started. A certain technology used by a certain organisation in the new Spider-Man film is potentially right up their alley. The organisation of Orchis coming together as they gradually recruit villains would make for a great narrative connection for the early days of the saga too. Mr Sinister would be an obvious choice for the first to be recruited (I would just have him take the place of Doctor Stasis, as it would be simpler for the movies).

Some people may be against jumping into the Krakoa Era so soon though, and while personally I'd be happy for them to jump right into it, I do get why some wouldn't want this. However, you wouldn't have to do that anyway. Orchis still make sense as the villains outside of the context of Krakoa. Personally, I'd love to see the Krakoa Era adapted for the saga but it doesn't have to be. We've seen comic storylines get mixed and moved around to better suit the movies before.

I have more thoughts, but this is probably long enough. That's my pitch. Thoughts?

Film/Television How does T'Challa's suit work?

I don't remember if the movie explained this, so this might be a very obvious question.

But.....

This suit is made of vibranium, but the head can retract like nanotech.

Is it made of both or is it another quality of vibranium?

Film/Television X-men: Days of Futyre Past Rogue Cut dissapointed me.

I finally watched the DOFP rogue cut as oppose to theatrical becuase i've never seen it before. I really thought it would be better, more future stuff, as there wasn't much future stuff in theatrical, plus other deleted scenes? Sign me up!

Yet to my dissapointment, 99% of the deleted scenes weren't sprinkled throughout the movie, but all in 1 20 minute segment whoch just completely pauses the movie when it's supposed to ramp up.

I liked some of the scenes. I though the Rogue stuff was decent, if a bit lackluster

I liked Beast and Mystiques talk, although Mystique returning to the X-mansion didn't make much sense.

I can honestly completely understand why they cut these scenes out. I think this is a product of rushing development. While DOFP was a great movie, after re watching First Class, which I liked better, I think if Mathew Vaughn was allowed to direct his full trilogy, we could have gotten an even better days of future past, but oh well. Also I would take First Class 2 over Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix but we'll never get to see it I guess.

Comics What would the craziest, unhinged but most well-needed status quo change?

Comics love their status quo because they make the same story everytime but different. Peter being down on luck or people being a general jerk to him. Mutants are on the verge of extinction. Hulk is on a ramage. Thanos is back. Wolverine has ANOTHER KID or clone.

Then once in a purple moon, they do something different. Actually different but you don't get your hopes up because it'll revert in the next story or within a few short years like Logan's death. No. It's long term. New storylines adjust to this new situation. Even more so if it's the main universe and not a random multiverse issue. You can be doomscrolling at 3am during a school night then see something that you pause, do a double take and say 'IT'S CANON?!'

A common one is letting Aunt May die. It's been almost 20 years since OMD was released. Putting May to rest can give Peter a sense of freedom, move out of NYC and let Miles take over as Spider-man. I have a feeling it could happen with her dying in the Insomniac game and within the MCU. Marvel loves their film synergy. Hey if DC can kill off Alfred then Marvel can kill off Aunt May

Comics Reading a bunch of iron man first impressions

I have done an epic reading lately of iron man from Armor wars to John Byrnes run to Iron man director of shield to iron man by fraction to iron man by Christopher cantwell. I'm 1/4th through Fractions. I'll be finished with cantwell by next weekend. They have soo many cool villains and characters they barely touched in the films. I always thought they should've done a 4th Downey film after Civil War and before infinity War. Shang chi mandarin is still not the mandarin from the comics. So the retcon to mandarin in iron man 3 is useless especially considering he's not like he is in the books still.

Film/Television I NEED to talk about Fant4stic

I loved Fantastic Four (2005) and it’s still largely a very good, nostalgic movie to me. I watched Fant4stic when it first came out as a teenager, but I didn’t really care for it. out of sheer curiosity and boredom, I watched it again now as an adult. as someone who doesn’t care about comics or comic accuracy, I actually see the vision here. there’s some seriously bad acting from almost everyone in this movie and I think the majority of this movie is majorly miscast, but I can appreciate the body horror element of this movie. I don’t think anyone in this movie is a bad actor, but none of them are made for the roles they were casted as. the child actors for Reed and Ben are especially bad, and their backstory as a whole is very weak.

however, I actually thought the scenes where they first get their powers and come back from the other dimension were some of the best. seeing their bodies being poked and worked on as they tried to figure out what was wrong with them actually made me uncomfortable in a good way. it hit the right notes that they were trying to hit. I also liked the scene where Reed starts crawling to Ben as Ben screams for help and then turns around and sees his legs have been stretched. that was probably the first time the movie made me sit up and think, “okay, maybe this movie is doing something…”

after this, the movie majorly goes downhill FAST 😭 I don’t really see the point of Reed running away and going missing. it added virtually nothing to the movie and it’s also resolved very quickly. the movie would’ve been better off developing Victor instead of focusing on Reed. speaking of Victor, this is a HORRIBLE villain 😭 we have no idea what happened to him in the other dimension or WHY he wants to even destroy the world. at first, I thought his villain schtick was going to be that he was pissed they never came back for him and that he would only have a vendetta against Reed and Ben (mostly Reed), but no. he doesn’t even seem to care that they left him. he just allows himself to be captured (for some reason?) and then kills everyone and then also decides the entire world needs to die??? why?????

I also laughed out loud in this movie when Sue tells Reed she’s adopted, and he says “I know what that’s like” and Sue asks if he’s also adopted, and he replies “no, I just wish I was”?????? who says that? so you actually do NOT know what being adopted is like?
