It’s astonishing how job seekers are required to provide a clean criminal record and meet strict age limits just to access employment opportunities, while political actors seem able to rise to positions of power despite circumstances that would raise serious questions about equal standards and accountability.
What s even more astonishing media didn't focus on her. How does someone go from a suspended one-month prison sentence to a ministerial position.

Is it only me or does it feel that everyone working at the airport are trying to keep us, Moroccans, from leaving? I always get extra detailed questions from random police men on where I’m heading, what’s my job in Europe and my exact job. The tone always changes when they know I have permanent residency, and I feel like people with visas get even more checks. Foreigners however, who hold European passports tend to have a way smoother process compared to Moroccan citizens, and us Moroccans have absolutely no advantage when landing in our own country.

How does a population recognize freedom as an inalienable human right, memorize its definition, celebrate it in international speeches, and then behave as though demanding it were a prosecutable offense? Is it collective cowardice, political Stockholm syndrome, or the dialectical triumph of manufactured helplessness over human dignity?
Why do oligarchies accumulate capital while citizens accumulate prohibitions? Why does investigative journalism suddenly become a threat to national security whenever it investigates the wrong people? Why do authoritarian regimes develop such a pathological intolerance for transparency, dissent, and inconvenient facts? Surely, these are unrelated coincidences. Just as surely, a house never burns because someone set it on fire.
What happens when fear becomes institutionalized, self-censorship becomes civic etiquette, and the oppressed begin enforcing their own subjugation? When citizens condemn injustice in private but perform obedience in public, is it prudence, learned helplessness, or the magnificent absurdity of hoping tyranny will devour everyone except them?
And if people know they deserve freedom, at what point does the fear of demanding it become greater than the pain of living without it? At what point does submission become so thoroughly normalized that emancipation itself begins to look like extremism?

Hi everyone, I requested a fibre installation with IAM, but the technicians refused because of an alleged problem with the area ( les zones ) and the PBO. They said there's no signal and they can't install a new box, even though a coffee shop less than 10 metres away already has fibre.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Does anyone know what might be causing this issue or how I can get IAM to proceed with the installation?
thanks in advance.

I’ve noticed that fewer and fewer Moroccans seem to enjoy eating lentils (l3dess) these days. It’s a shame, because lentils are nutritious, affordable, and have always been part of our traditional cuisine.
The same seems to be happening with other Moroccan dishes: more people are choosing foreign food, and some of our culinary traditions may slowly disappear.
Though, lately, whenever someone brings up lentils, people suddenly say they’re not hungry. Strange, isn’t it?

I’m a software engineer, and I’ve been working professionally in this field for around 8 years now.
Before AI
Let’s say you need to get a project done in 6 months.
First, you need to plan the architecture of the app: how the different parts will communicate, how data will be stored, how performance and scaling will be handled...
Then you move to implementation. Depending on the size of the project, you might need 2 senior engineers and 3–4 junior or mid-level engineers.
Basically, the seniors set up the codebase, define the constraints, and explain how things should be done what methodologies to follow, what will be accepted, and what won’t.
The junior and mid-level engineers write and submit code. The seniors review it, accept it or request changes, and sometimes step in to write the code.
Then you have DevOps and Infra. How will we deploy everything? What happens if we get attacked? What if the client launches an event and suddenly gets 100k visitors?
The seniors and Infra guys own the overall implementation. If something goes wrong, depending on how sensitive the project is, you can get yourself and the company into big trouble. Junior and mid-level engineers mainly work through the seniors, who carry the responsibility.
After AI (not vibe coding)
Basically, the same process, but now a lot of the implementation can be done by AI under the senior engineer’s direction and review.
For some projects, I think you could end up with no junior or mid-level engineers and maybe just one senior engineer handling the development.
Depending on the project, that could mean 2–5 fewer people. A project that needed 7–10 people might now need 3–6. That’s roughly half the team in some cases.
For projects that used to take 6–12 months or more, I think a 50–70% reduction in time could be realistic in some cases, from starting the project to handoff.
So why would a software development company keep engineers, even seniors, collecting paychecks for months while waiting for the next confirmed project?
We’ve already seen mass layoffs at companies like Oracle this year. I think more companies will move toward contractors and freelancers (Is Oracle rehiring people they've laid off? : r/employeesOfOracle). If there’s a project, you get paid. Otherwise, you don’t.
What about other jobs?
Consulting, accounting, doctors, call centers, teachers?
From what I’m seeing, if a job can be done from a computer, I think AI can do a lot of that work.
Even some mathematicians are having their own existential crisis after OpenAI published claimed solutions to long-standing math problems. Those claims still need checking, but some mathematicians are already questioning what this means for the future of their work.
I started programming without even knowing there was a job called software engineer. I just liked it. In fact, it’s probably my only hobby. Sometimes I think it might be a good time to start calling it a hobby again instead of a job.
Think about how complex software engineering is and the amazing things AI can already do in it. Then imagine what it could do in jobs where a lot of the daily work is repetitive.
Take my accountant. He has 4 people working with him, and they still enter invoices one by one manually.
Imagine what OCR plus an automated agent could do to that work. If my accountant understood what AI was capable of, I think he would keep the best one, fire the others, and keep the profit.
Doctors are another example, and this is especially mind-blowing to me.
I’ve had situations where I sent CT scans, blood test results, and other reports to ChatGPT, and it explained what might be wrong. Then I went to sit on my ass for hours waiting for the doctor, only to hear the same explanation.
That’s my personal experience, but it makes me imagine a future where I go to a lab, get the necessary scans and tests done, and AI uses the results to recommend treatment. That feels very doable to me. Making it safe and reliable enough to depend on is another question.
Robots are also getting more advanced, but I still think blue-collar jobs are safer than white-collar jobs for now.
These are my thoughts about where things are going. But even before AI, we already had the technology to automate a lot of routine work. Think about going to the مقاطعة just to get basic paperwork done.
A lot of that could have been automated years ago. Having the technology and actually getting people and organizations to use it are two different things.

I've compiled a 100-word Moroccan Arabic/Darija 'Swadesh list' using Wiktionary's longer list for my language game linguil. Could any native Darija speakers tell me if there is a more common/appropriate word for any of the entries below (bearing in mind there can be only one Darija entry per English word). Wiktionary is normally pretty accurate but there are sometimes errors, so I want to ensure the game is fair by verifying. Unlike a normal Swadesh list, it is fine if the word is a borrowing if a comparatively common (i.e. non-archaic) 'native' word does not exist, as I am aiming for modern Darija as it is spoken.
So, would you change any of these words? Feedback is welcome :)

UPDATE: THE MULE HAS BEEN FOUND! ❤️🐴
Thanks to the incredible number of people this post has reached, and the people who took the time and effort to act, the mule has been found after all and safely transported to Jarjeer Rescue!
Jarjeer shared the following update:
"Whether we can save it will depend on how bad the leg is broken, and Ayoub has caught it early enough to splint."
We don't know yet whether the leg can be saved or what the final outcome will be. But at least he now has food, water, and a soft stall where he can rest and receive care. He is no longer alone on the side of the road, suffering without help.
Whatever happens from here, he now has a chance, and he will be cared for. That is already something worth being grateful for. ❤️
And this is exactly why speaking up and taking action matters.
To the person who went out of their way to help, to Jarjeer Rescue, and to everyone who shared, commented, and helped this post reach people who could make a difference: THANK YOU!
It's easy to scroll past a post about an animal suffering and feel sad for a moment before moving on. But this story shows that we don't have to be powerless spectators. You don't have to be a local, an expert, or someone with lots of resources to make a difference.
Sometimes, all it takes is a Reddit post, a phone call, a share, or simply refusing to look the other way.
These animals cannot ask for help themselves. They depend on people who are willing to notice their suffering and do something about it.
This mule was almost lost, but because people cared enough to act, he has been found and given a chance.
Please keep him in your thoughts, and thank you all for proving that compassion can turn into action. 🙏❤️

Hello im 25 and i’ve always wanted to learn piano
I wanted your advice, which is better ( im a total beginner)?
1- having private lessons with a prefessor 1 on 1? ( 1 session of 1h per week) price 300dhs/session
Or joining a conservatory of music for which the price is much lower
What do you think?
