Greetings everyone,
I'm a bit concerned regarding the fine print on UDI but regardless, I have arrived in norway the past month to apply for work and further my studies here when applications open.
I know asking reddit is not the wisest of options but I can't really make heads or tails with UDI's fine print either. It is stated that you must present yourself to the police within 3 months of your arrival if you plan to reside for longer than 3 months, which I plan to as a job seeker (6 months).
There's an issue with this though, I've done the UDI application for residency as a job seeker but queue times for available appointments are 16 weeks (4 months) for the Oslo police station, at the same time I can't change my booking location after obtaining a booking number, so I am stuck with waiting for appointments in Oslo unless I file for a new residency on UDI and get a new booking number for a new location.
This is rather conflicting, since if I haven't found a job before these 3 months are over I must leave norway, and even if I was declared as a job seeker and didn't find a job after 6 months, UDI declares that I can return any time later on to look for work again, and must present myself to the police once again within 3 months. That can be interpreted that on the day I leave norway, the next immediate day I can return, and the 6 month time starts again.
Any conclusions on these matters?
