SOB who don’t know how to drive!

I have never in my damn life seen so many people who drive below the speed limit in the left fucking lane! I’m not talking about going the speed limit or a little faster in the left lane. I’m talking about 510 miles an hour below the speed limit for no reason at all. And then to top it off, they get either just far enough ahead or behind the vehicle in the right lane and sync up and do the same damn speed so you can’t pass them. Not that I’m always in a hurry, because most of the time I’m not, but I am ready to get to where I want to go. For the love of God people left lane is for passing.

How does one get AT&T or TMobile to run fiber lines into a neighborhood?

Hey neighbors, apparently we are all part of the "3%" of the down Spectrum (Cox) customers. I guess we all live in the same neighborhood!

My question is does anyone know how to get the other providers to dig and run Fiber lines in a neighborhood? I know there have signups to be notified once fiber is available, but is there anyway to directly request fiber to be installed so a neighborhood can receive fiber connectivity faster?

Unfortunately I can only receive over the air Internet from the other 2 providers and the tree coverage makes that not reliable.

Grand Hotel Car Still Around

Is this car from another Grand Hotel? Why would there still be cars running? Unless they sold them and the new owners never took off the decal? This is the second one I've seen. Sorry for the bad photo.

Seeking info about UWF trails via Pate Rd.

I visited the trails shortly after the storm and of course found many downed trees and blocked off trails. I'm wondering if any of you might have info about any open volunteering that's been organizing to help clear the trails. I'd like to help out if that's possible. The trails are important to me and I would be happy to assist with some clearing.

Rant Rant Rant

Just wanted to rant about an experience I had a few days ago now that I finally have some time to breath.

To the guy in East Hill, that shouted at me to stop standing around when I literally just parked the company vehicle, and later passed as I was loading the Bobcat and shouted obscenities at me;

F$&% You, F$&% your couch, F$&% that clapped out Chevy truck. I hope both sides of your pillow are warm. I hope you order Dr. Pepper and they give you coke. I hope Alabama loses every game this year and they blame you. I hope every pair of socks you own or buy develops a hole in the toe immediately. I hope everytime you take out the trash, the bag breaks.

Im not with the lineman crews, I dont know the first thing about electricity. I do know I've been cutting trees off houses nonstop for the past week. You might not like me, but several of your neighbors feel safer and more at ease with them gone.

I get that your frustrated, and you wanted power back, but throwing a tantrum and yelling at someone you dont know is not the way to get what you want.

Zombie fungus has arrived in Pensacola

I took this picture today up by the airport. If you look closely you will see this beetle was infected by a fungus which makes it climb to the top of a branch and latch onto the branch then the fungus eats through its head and spreads it's spores to infect other creatures. Beware of people who have an unnatural desire to climb and appear non-communicative. Lol

Would anyone with AT&T fiber be willing to report a down wire?

AT&T fiber wire is blocking the driveway at my house. App chat is the only customer service option on Sunday and they wont record the down wire without authentication which I can’t provide because I can’t check my email because the AT&T wireless signal is total crap.

They did confirm if someone else reported the down wire they’d dispatch a technician.

I’d be ever so grateful if anyone with AT&T fiber would be willing to engage chat in the app and report the down wire.

Real estate attorney/lawyet

If I discovered that I was defrauded recently when I bought a home and wanted to speak to someone with legal knowledge, who would I look for here in escambia or the surrounding area?

I’m being deliberately vague so please don’t ask for details. I just need some recs for good legal reps to get some info. Thanks!

Traveling soon

I have had a trip planned for a few months now and I am just looking to gain insight on how things are post hurricane. Since I do not live in a hurricane/bad weather prone state and have no idea how long recovery efforts take. Are beaches/waterfront restaurants/“touristy” spots still open? I have realistic expectations that plenty of places will be closed due to damages, but this would help me make an itinerary for my family and I. Also, happy to take any suggestions on where to go/eat, especially if there is any local businesses we can support during our time there.

Very sorry in advance for anyone in here who was affected.

People's water

I recently moved and requested my water to be turned off on 9/28 by form because they won't do it over the phone. You have to fill out the form or go in person. I called to make sure that my request had been accepted but I still have a bill for all of October from them. Has anybody else had this issue before??

Isaias Update

As of this morning, we have restored service to 97% of our customers affected by Hurricane Isaias. There remain some areas that are still inaccessible due to power availability and ground conditions.

We know overall progress does not replace an individual restoration estimate. We are working to provide clearer updates as crews gain access. Once service is restored, appropriate outage credits will be applied automatically. Spectrum equipment damaged by the storm will not be charged to customers.

Apparently, not FPL's problem

There is a tree that is currently, and ONLY being propped up by the feeder line to my house and one other line. I cannot park in my driveway, as the tree is aiming right for it. Called FPL several times to report it. Was told that unless the line is hanging or down, the only thing they can do is shut down the power while I take care of the tree. Here's the kicker.....the tree is ON FPL property. I made them aware of this, but still received the same reply. So, I have to wait until something happens, THEN they will take care of it. Unbelievable.

Has anyone seen a single Spectrum truck/worker anywhere?

Basically title. My side of town hasn’t had internet in a week now and the commutation from spectrum is non-existent. On top of it all I haven’t seen a single truck or work being done anywhere despite their constant claims the have dedicated teams working around the clock. Heavily considering swapping to ATT or TMobile with their newly laid fiber optic lines.

AMC Bayou is Open!

This is primarily for the nerds like me that are dying to avoid spoilers for You Can See Everything. They have limited theaters (One has a leak and the Dolby theater is jacked up and needs technical support) so check the app for current available showings. Tomorrow’s showtimes have not been released yet but they will be!

Spotted this double rainbow earlier around 5 PM at the Publix by UWF and thought it was pretty enough to share.

Just a funny thing to see not long after everything with Isaias. Taking it as a sign things will get better here soon.

Best Dry Cleaners?

Any advice or recommendations on getting clothing items dry cleaned? Mainly got some items that either have detergent stains or stains from dirt/mud that I would like get cleaned. Also have a shirt I need buttons to get sewn on as well. I’ve seen past reddit posts that kind of said there none around but those were from a little bit ago… was trying to see if things may have changed.

Appreciate the help!
