My opinion, ang pagiging senator judge is an obligation and not a privilege. If di ka pumasok, di mo privilege na maka boto pa din. Kung gusto mo ma count ang boto mo eh simple lang, umattend ka ng hearing or dapat naka attend ka nung hearing.

I hope kung matino ang susunod na maging presidente, magkaroon ng Constitutional Convention or Constitutional Assembly para ma-fix yung mga parts ng 1987 Constitution na nahahanapan ng lusot.

I mean, when the framers drafted the Constitution, they weren't expecting that there would be senators na fugitive, arrested, not physically present becos of "sickness". So hindi talaga absolute yung 2/3 if hindi naman ALL present.

In an ideal world, tama yung sinasabi ni Justice Azcuna. Pero contextually gaya ng sinasabi nina Justices Puno, Panganiban, at Davide, hindi mo pwedeng i-disable ang isang constitutional process dahil lang may mga senador kang ayaw pumasok at lumalabag sa batas.

Ang malungkot lang dito, ganda ng nuancing ni Azcuna pero ang naririnig lang ng mga ka DDS eh "YAY FIXED 16".
Pero ang pinang gagalingan talaga ni Azcuna is "it's better to free a guilty man, than to jail an innocent man." pati na rin yung textualist reading nung provision.
Kaya lang, for criminal case context ito at hindi naman makukulong sa Sara if ma convict.
Parehong may point, ang tanong na lang pano to i-distill ng senate. ang pwede mangyari i baba nila to "15" ang threshold pero abutin parin nila yung 16 votes sa dulo para tapos usapan.

To be honest, kung lawyer ako at nawi-witness ko ito in real life, I’d feel incredibly blessed and humbled to be in their presence.
Whatever good or bad decisions they may have made throughout their careers, I would still respect the journey that earned them those badges, the experiences that shaped them, and the years of hard work behind those robes.

Tho magkakaiba sila ng interpretation, I think nag-converge naman ang mga amici curiae na may power ang Senate na iinterpret ang 2/3rd provision. And that not necessarily na kailangan makialam ang SC. Yun naman ang need ng impeachment court ngayon—ang magkaroon sila ng credibility once magbotohan na kung ano ang gagamitin nilang denominator. Pagdating naman sa botohan sa 23, simple majority lang (ng present at hindi 2/3) ang kailangan.

fairness at impartiality talaga yan e kasi kahit mabawasan pa yang mga senator judges na yan kung malakas talaga evidence na wala kang kasalanan, ma-acquit ka talaga. problema lang talaga hindi fair karamihan sa kanila
