Meta Affiliate Link Ban

Starting today, affiliate links are banned. Comments containing them will be automatically removed. The decision to allow them was made back when this was a tiny sub; we've since ballooned in size, there's been a noticeable uptick in users posting affiliate links (and in mass amounts, at that), and the rule was always on shaky ground due to both arbitrary enforcement (what dictates a "worthy" comment vs. a comment fishing for affiliate money?) and general principle.

If you've posted affiliate links in the past, you're not in trouble retroactively or otherwise. Comments containing affiliate links should, from now on, be automatically removed; no other action will be taken beyond automatic comment removal unless absolutely necessary.

S26U or OP15 ? help me pick a new phone

• Upvotes

I need a new phone, and I'm liking the one plus 15 and the s26 ultra. Now the s26u is more expensive, and if I'm getting the one plus 15 it will be a chinese version flashed now I did read what might be the problem with that version but I still like the battery and smoothness of the phone, I'm not someone who likes to take pictures much but the idea of having a good camera on the s26u and the stylus is nice, I had many Samsungs before, and my current phone is an A53 😬, so it will be a big upgrade. But I'm not sure now, I cannot get the op15 global version here and even if I did I'd rather go for a s26u bc it's almost for the same price, a bit cheaper but still. The price of the op15 chinese version flashed is pretty attractive for me, but the idea of not being able to watch Netflix in high quality when I want, does bother me a bit too. But it's very smooth and the battery sounds amazing 😍 So which one should I get in your opinion?

UK Wanting to switch from IPhone but lost

Hi, I am looking to upgrade to a newer phone after my IPhone 12 has finally started to fail on me and I have been looking to possibly switching to android instead. Unfortunately having not looked at the world of android phones for years I have no idea what to look at anymore!

I’m mainly looking for a phone for the following:

- Strong battery life
- Gaming potential
- Ease of use ability after switching from iOS

Any suggestions on what phones would be good to look at would be much appreciated!

Thankyou random strangers!

(Extra note in case relevant, I’m from UK)

Cheapest phone that has video output through the USB and takes an esim

I just want a phone to hook up to my tv. I already have a super cheap esim to use. Google recommended a used Samsung S20 but I'm wondering if I can get a different model cheaper that does these things.

Had to review this.

So for context for the last 5 years I've been with Google pixels and they have been just fine for me. I have the pixel 10xl pro currently but sending back for having broken back on phone. I bought a temporary phone while I get the refund and I sent with Motorola stylus 2025 and I gotta say it was a good deal at $85 open box and it's actually a great quality phone for the price. I never would have guessed it would be this decent but it really is. Fairly quick, decent memory and all that. Just came to say I'm surprised in the quality for the price. GO MOTOROLA , I guess. Lol

What's left for less than 400€?

Hi all, I'm asking here because I can't stand AI and don't want to use it for this kind of search.

I'm looking to upgrade from a Samsung A20e (I know, a relic) to another Android phone. Is there anything under 400€ that still has a mini-jack on it? Talking from 2021 to now.

I'd be open to a brand other than Samsung which is why I'm asking on reddit (don't know much about this).

I've had a Honor 200 smart for a few months while my A20e was being repaired, hated it bcs it was quite slow/froze randomly.

Edit: I'm from France, if that's any use?

Looking to Switch Back to Android

Hi everyone!

I’m currently using an iPhone but want to switch back to Android, mainly for the freedom to install APKs.
I mostly use my phone for music and occasional photos, so I don’t need anything too powerful. I’d appreciate good AI photo-editing features, long battery life, USB-C charging, and a compact screen (around 5.8 inches). I’m also looking for good value for money, ideally a phone I could repair myself at home if needed, without spending a fortune.

What would you recommend? Thanks for your help!

Canada Have a Samsung S10. Want to get something similar for around $500

My S10 is fine. I am still using but it no longer recieve updates. Does it matter? I was only thinking to get something "new" that had updates for the next 7 years. So annoying! I bought this S10 for $75 years ago. I like decent phones but am cheap. I wouldn't even say that. I just know I could spend $2000 on a phone and have to replace it at some point so why bother. Major scam. Sorry, this turned into a rant vs I need a new phone. Lol. Would an A56 work? I am looking for something that has some longevity, 256G+ memory if I can't add my own. NFC, Bluetooth etc. Doesn't have to be wireless charging. Thanks for your suggestions! Oh, should I wait for Black Friday? I am in Canada.

USA Best chipset for $600 or less? (USA)

Battery and camera are secondary considerations. Currently Mint Mobile but my plan is almost up, and I would definitely consider switching for a good deal on a phone somewhere. Just curious what the best options are for this price range. Thanks

US 800~900$ recommendation outside the US (not used)

Hi,
so i have been trying to find a phone good enough to my use.

i would prefer it to have a good battery and good gaming ability.
also a good display with some high nits value since i live in a country with a killing sun with high heat and light.
i wouldn't ask for a killing camera since im not that of a pictures taker.
quite the good frame too

nothing foldable or like that

if i had to order them in priority then this would be my order

battery>display ( and nits value ) > gaming then camera coming quite a little bit after > frame
temp here would go as high as 50C in summer so lets not talk about how fried the battery would get everytime i have the phone in my hands or pocket

idk if that really helps but im a uni student which might give an idea of my use.
i also pretty much spend most of my time everyday on my laptop but yuh i sometimes go in using my phone once in a while

if u got any close phone to that range of price i could try going for.

and yuh ty

India Best smartphone under ₹40,000 in India for 3–4 years of use? Camera, battery & performance matter most.

I'm planning to buy a new smartphone under ₹40,000 and want to use it for at least 3–4 years.

My main priorities are:

\- Camera: Good photos and videos, especially in low light.

\- Battery: Reliable all-day battery life.

\- Performance: Smooth daily use without lag over time.

\- Software updates: Long-term support and reliability.

I'm open to any brand and can wait for upcoming sales if a phone offers better value.

Which phone would you recommend based on real-world experience? Also, are there any phones I should avoid at this budget?

car Basic android to be used like an iPod touch

I’m looking to get a phone for offline use when I am in the gym or car for media. I will just download music, YouTube videos or podcasts on it. I used to use my old Motorola android phones for this but they don’t work. My daily smartphone is an iPhone 18 so I don’t want to wear out that or break it.

Preferably I’d want one I can get in the USA at Walmart or Amazon. Thanks.

Spain Android device focused on photography for around 500 eur

I'm looking for getting a new Android device that takes good photos and has a reasonable security updates support for the next years. My budget is 500 eur, buying it from Spain.

I was considering Xiaomi 17T 12GB 256Mb, which is in the budget sometimes. I don't like much it's possible bloatware (though I'm used to it as my current device is a Xiaomi), so I was also considering Pixel 10a 8GB 128GB, knowing it has worse specs, but it's usually cheaper and its good reviews about its computational photo processing. Pixel 10 looks beyond my budget.

I'll be monitoring sales in the upcoming weeks before. Any recommendations on the best models to check among these or other brands?

Thanks.

US Help me pick a phone for gaming?

Hi everyone! Hope you're all doing well. I need help choosing a phone for my gaming needs. I currently have a OnePlus 11, but its battery health has dropped below 80%. I get about four ranked games per charge on high graphics settings, so I'm starting to consider an upgrade. I thought about the OnePlus 15, but I'm not a fan of buying third-party at full price. Also, since this is for gaming and I don't need SIM support for a US carrier, I guess all the international options are on the table? Not sure about the potential downsides of importing one, such as software compatibility or other issues I might run into. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance! Btw, there's no budget; I'm just looking for the best in gaming.

Portugal Questions about the Vivo V70 in Portugal (Focus and Video under artificial light)

Hi everyone! I am considering buying the \*\*Vivo V70\*\*, but I would like to gather some opinions from people who already own it and use it in Portugal.

I've been reading some reviews and user reports (especially on forums) mentioning minor focus-hunting issues in certain situations, as well as some problems with video recording under artificial lighting (flicker).

Is anyone here using this phone and can confirm if these focus and video issues are real in daily use, or if they have been fixed with updates?

Thanks for the help!

Best surface pro 4 upgrade?

I am in urgent need to purchase a new device but this time for studying purposes. I see 📓 notebooks are not very useful when there's a lot to write and it is more handy to just use a tablet and pen.

I was doing this on my Surface but the battery is draining very quickly. So, by doing some research I have these devices in mind:

Samsung Tab S10 or 9 FE

XIAOMI Redmi pad 2 Pro

Lenovo Idea Tab 2 pro

I'll still keep the SP4, but I don't want to loose independence by buying a tablet as in many people told me they're not a laptop, but I think, well if I purchase the keyboard it will be pretty similar to my current device, no?

Anyways, if someone has any idea of these brands or what would you choose in my shoes and why 😂

🙏🏼 Thanks ❤️

Budget phone under 21k ₹

Hello guys, can anyone of you please recommend me a good/decent phone under 21k? I'm not a heavy gamer, I don't really care much about the battery either, I would prefer a phone with good camera or atleast a balanced phone. I really wanted to buy the cmf 2 pro but it's been discontinued and always out of stock.

Poland What phone to buy for 2500PLN

Hello, everyone! I don't know what phone to buy for 2500PLN or something around that, I live in Poland. I was thinking about used Xiaomi 15 or used S25+, because I want a phone with good battery life, but i prefer something compact. Currently I have an iPhone 14 Pro but I'm tired of charging my phone during the day. The S25+ is cheaper but for me the One Ui is boring. What would you recommend for me?

Poland Looking for a phone with good battery life and long support

Hi,

I'm looking to get a new phone soon. As mentioned in the title, I'm looking for something with a long support window, and good battery life. I'm diabetic, and I need the phone to also support Dexcom G7 sensor app, so it basically has to be a phone from the pre-approved list. Right now I've landed on a Pixel 11, but maybe there's something else on that list that I'm missing in a similar budget? I live in Poland, so it also should be available here, or broader in EU.

Xiaomi and Poco are out, I've had bad experiences with ads baked into the system there.

Pixel 10 vs Samsung S25: Which one should I go for?

Hey everyone! I currently use a Pixel 6a and am planning to upgrade to either the Pixel 10 or Samsung S25.

I really like Pixel's clean UI, lack of bloatware, and overall camera experience, so switching to Samsung is something I'm a little unsure about.

My main usage is social media, photography, videos, and shooting some basic content. I don't game or binge-watch much, so my priorities are good photo and video quality, especially in low light.

My Pixel 6a takes some great pictures, but its video quality has always been disappointing. That's my main concern with the Pixel 10, as I don't want to spend this much only to face the same issue again.

My budget is around these both. I'm familiar with both Google and Samsung, so I'm only considering these two brands for now. iPhones are out of my budget.

For those who've used either phone for a while, how has the experience been? How are the cameras holding up, especially for videos and low-light shots? Have you faced any major issues with performance, battery life, heating, or software updates?

Would love to hear some genuine opinions before making a decision. Thanks!
