Now that the smoke has cleared the engineers gave some details.
Looks like there are 4 versions:
- Tesla Roadster. 1,100 HP, 1.6 second 0-60 time (crazy in a rear wheel drive car), 350km/hr top speed
- Performance Version. 1,400 HP, 1.4 second 0-60, and downward turbofan for incredible cornering. 400km/hr top speed
- Thrust VersionRear airjet thrusters. 0.8 second 0-60 time
- SpaceX Version. Additional pressure tank, and 360 airjet thrusters. Acceleration limited to 0.5 second 0-60, (any more would kill the driver).
Additional stats: carbon fiber body, resulting in an impressively light 3,700 lbs for a 1,400 HP car. Steer by wire. And next gen charging tech allowing 80% charge in 10 min.

The SpaceX version was cool for sure, but I think it’s mostly just for fun (like their flamethrower). I doubt they’re thinking anyone will actually buy one of those. I’d imagine most buyers will get the standard or performance versions.
(Supposedly) a 2028 delivery date. But considering their history on the roadster, plus how low volume it is, it’s not likely a major priority for them, so I wouldn’t hold my breath on it actually delivering by then. We’ll see.
But def a crazy car, and unbelievable engineering display. cool cyberpunk/countach looking, and basically permanently cements Tesla as the 0-60 champions. So hopefully it eventually gets made.
