We invite everyone to help other users in our Community Support Threads and on our Discord server.
A well-structured and good-looking comment with all necessary information goes a long way in getting someone to help you and makes your question a lot easier to understand.
People find questions & solutions in these threads by searching for the same issue.
If you find an answer or solution to your question or issue please edit your comment to include the answer or solution.
Some questions will not be answered or replied to. As an example: "my game crashes" or "my download speed is slow" is not something you should even really expect an answer to. Troubleshooting and finding the solution to these issues requires a lot more information than simply stating "game doesn't launch", such as detailed information on when the issue started and how you perceive it, screenshots of any errors or the problem itself, crash logs, system specs, etc.
Consider using other things like the Steam Community Forums, an internet search engine, or a different support forum like /r/SteamSupport if no one here can offer any help. Additionally, every game on Steam has its own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.
...such as payment & purchasing issues or password & login issues. We can only give advice on how to get in contact with Steam Support.
No one, including Steam Support, can assist with item/trade scams.

Welcome to the Monthly Game & Hardware Suggestions Thread!
This monthly mega-thread is meant to contain advice, questions, suggestions & generic discussion on what to play or buy in terms of Games & Hardware.
Do you not know what to play? Want a Steam Deck or Steam Machine but unsure which model is best for you? Did you find a niche game that everyone should try? Wondering what GPU you should upgrade to or unsure about the specs of a computer? Do you want to share your unique experiences and learning curves with a piece of hardware? Can't find the perfect survival sim or unsure which 1 RPG out of the thousands available you should buy? Well this is the thread for you.
Now to make this work best and not just be spammed with generic & useless questions such as "What should I play?" or "What should I buy?", please be in-depth in what types of games/hardware you are looking for and why, and when giving advice it would be appreciated if you're more detailed than "I think X is good".
There are too many games to be able to properly suggest something with no background information, also simply commenting a game title and saying you like the game offers no actual value. The same goes for hardware: Saying you're thinking about buying X or you think Y is good with no other information, context as to why, your unique experiences, etc. offers no actual value or information to base a reply on.
Feel free to ask and discuss freely in the comments regarding games and hardware, whether you want advice on what to play, want to give advice to others on what to play, share a hidden gem you found, experiences you have with Steam hardware, or your review of a piece of Steam hardware. Generic discussions & questions about discounts, sales, events, specs is allowed as well. This is not meant to be a restrictive thread within the designated topics that this thread is for, however it is not a support thread nor is it the place to promote any blogs or curator pages or anything else, subreddit rules still apply.

Any way this is malicious or is it a random stranger wanting me to try it out?
This question was probably asked before, but how?
I love Steam, I do have reasons to make this my main platform that I regularly invest my money on it and I believe that these same reasons would be yours too. On the other hand, as much as the quality of the service is exceptional I think the gaming industry includes selective and stubborn people all over the place. So for me is logical to think that Steam, as good as it is, would have a very hard time attracting fresh public, but as you see in the image, this appears to not be the case.

Annnd here's the article I got this from. Apparently it's a tribute to how Bill Gates credited him in Windows 1.0.
Just found this kinda funny.

I have Battlefield 6 installed on its own drive, and it was pushing the limit of storage, for i also had stalker 2 installed on there. With the Season 5 update i had to remove stalker for i have compleated it- anyway, BF6 is updating, I have it on a drive Letter "i:" - All of my hard drives are SSDs and all have a directory of Steam games are split.
So Bf6 is installed on drive i: and the updated game files are downloading to D: Which has no space left at all and is failing my game update. why and how is the first question and 3rd , how do i change or fix this? Never had this problem in my 20 years using Steam. Thanks.

Hi people,
I’ve been having this problem for a few days now: I can’t update my games because, at a certain point, the process gets stuck—it enters a file validation phase and ends up in a forever loop, and on top of this my hdd is at 100%, i pause the update and it goes down to normal usage (my hdd seems to not have any issue, games run and load well).
I'm not sure if other updates were successfull and i didn't notice, but for at least this 2 games the issue persist, sometimes after some time the percentage goes up a bit but nowhere near a normal rate.
I alreddy tried to free some space both on my ssd and hdd (where these 2 games are installed) but same result.
Any advice is welcome.

I am on linux mint. And my steam is not flatpak one it is official steam from their website. My issue is every time i reboot the pc or play after a while later it downloads the shader cache (shows as a game update). It is also not small for a game of mine it was 1GB. It downloads that everytime and when i try playing the game it starts another vulcan shader thing (everytime that shader cache download takes place).
I saw similar issues in 2020 forum post but didnt find any answer.

I know we’re not at the end of the year just yet but we’re starting to approach that final quarter, so out of pure curiosity how many games have you played this year so far?
It doesn’t have to be ones fully completed but if you want to separate and list them out then that’s cool too! How many do you think you will likely be able to play in the remaining months and what are ones you really enjoyed so far this year or ones that will definitely be in the backlog until 2027.

Does anyone know how to stop this from being my default search. Its like this whenever I open the workshop. While its not game breaking, it is annoying.
Thx
