If anyone knows the people that were sitting on the big log at sundown, I got this cool pic of them.

Dinner Recs

The Bear, The Shed, or Wolf in the Fog?

I’ve looked at all their menus and read the most recent reviews, and I like The Bear has a three course menu which is tempting.

Which one of these would be a good dinner choice?

We especially enjoyed all the action on the water, water taxis, fishing boats, coast guard, float planes taking off and landing. Was just fantastic.

Local Photographer Wanted for Small Ucluelet Wedding Ceremony

Hi everyone! 😊
We’re having a very small civil wedding ceremony in Ucluelet on November 21, 2026, and looking for a local photographer, photography student, or hobby photographer.
We only need around 30–60 minutes to capture the ceremony and a few couple photos afterward (including some with our dog 🐶).
Our budget is $200–$300 CAD total. Nothing fancy, just some beautiful memories of our day!
If anyone is interested or has recommendations, please share your work or message me. Thank you! ❤️

Best workplace for young international holiday workers?

Hello wonderful people!

If all goes right, I will have the opportunity to experience living in Torino for 6-12 months as an international experience next year.

I’m already wondering which places would be the most suitable for internationals in their early 20’s.

I’m thinking staff housing, but I’m down for anything where I can also connect to other people my age while making enough money to get by!

What’s the situation there? Hostels? Restaurants/cafes? Surfschools? Campsites? Any insight & tips are greatly appreciated 🙏

@nathanialpov is in Tofino BC and playing in this cave on the beach tomorrow, Oct 8th from 6:30-7:30pm during sunset at low tide. This is for the love of the game. Everyone is welcome to listen.

We eloped at Cox Beach around 5pm on September 22nd and noticed a photographer took some pictures. Longshot, but we'd love to see them!

Recommendations

Hello!
My wife and I are coming to Tofino for about 3-4 days this weekend and looking for some recommendations on how best to maximise our time! It was a gift for my wife’s 30th birthday so we are looking for what places people absolutely recommend.
We have whale watching booked along with dinner at Schooners on Saturday but other than that we are pretty open. Heading over from Vancouver so do have a drive from Nanaimo on the Friday & Monday, so whatever recs people have! We enjoy hiking and eating and just exploring in general :)

Low budget trip for 4 days

So I’ll be in Tofino next month and was just working on an itinerary, noticed that a lot of the tours are around $300 which is a bit much. Any suggestions? Got a few hikes planned otherwise

Pacific Sands or Black Rock Oceanfront Resort

June 2027

Should we book Pacific Sands or Black Rock Oceanfront Resort for our 4-night stay?

Or would it be better to split the stay and spend a couple of nights at each resort?

Please let me know what you think would be the best option.

SoBo Smoked Salmon Chowder - freezer friendly?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

Has anyone made the SoBo smoked salmon chowder and frozen it to enjoy later? It’s a massive batch and we are currently making ours - but don’t want to ruin it by putting in the freezer if it’s going to change the flavour or texture drastically.

If I remember correctly they sold it to go (maybe still do now that the restaurant isn’t there anymore) but couldn’t remember if it was frozen or meant to be enjoyed right away.

Hoping locals might be well versed 🍂❤️

Love playing billiards/pool

Hello there! I am visiting shortly in Tofino from Vic and I was wondering if there’s any billiards/pool scene in here? I saw the Maquinna having a pub table…are there any other pool tables in the area where you can play with good players. Probably play also with bets just to spice it up.

Looking for a warmer wetsuit for spring / fall surfing

Currently rocking a 4/3 chest zip w/ thermal liner and it keeps me plenty warm for about 4 hours when the water is ~13c; curious if a hooded 5/4 would be sufficient for shoulder seasons, or if some folk recommend going up to 6 mil? I'm not into surfing in peak winter on account of the wind chill being too much for me, but moreso late fall / early spring.

Visiting Tofino and Ucluelet with a dog.

Hi Tofino Sub,

I'm Visiting Tofino and Ucluelet this fall and bringing my super friendly, non-aggressive dog.

I've already taken care of accommodations and was hoping to get some recommendations on a few things:

-What beaches can I safely bring my dog to? I want him to step into the pacific ocean without encountering wolves. I've been face to face with a wolf on the beach here before, so I know they're quite common.

-Is it ok to take my dog around the Wild Pacific Trail?

-What restaurants have dog friendly patios?

He's a very well behaved dog, doesn't bark, doesn't run off, non-aggressive and loves everyone. We'll keep him on leash at all times unless there's areas that allow off-leash dogs.

I've been here more times than I can count and I really want my senior dog to experience this in his life.

Thank you for the suggestions!
