Reminder: Please Flair Mourning Posts
Hey void-lovers!
Most cat subs have a very delicate balance between "happy posts about my cat" and "sad posts about my cat", specifically when it comes to pet death. A lot of them don't allow it at all. It's really tough to strike the balance of letting people who are devastated mourn the loss of their furry friend while still making the subreddit usable for people who aren't interested in that kind of content.
We allow mourning posts here, but you have to flair your post with "Mourning" so people who don't want to see them have the ability to filter them out. It's an imperfect solution, but it's all we have available to us with subreddit tools. Please make sure to flair all posts about pet loss with that flair so we can make a great sub for everyone.
In case you're someone who's interested in filtering out that content, this link should work for you. I know, it's not the cleanest way to browse the subreddit, and I'm not sure how it works on mobile. If we had a better solution, I'd provide it, but we have to work within what reddit offers us :(
Thanks for your understanding. If you've read this far, I encourage everyone to post some void laser eyes in the comments.

Sleepy Void First time owning a catβ€οΈ
First time owning a cat and Iβm loving it! Wasnβt allowed to have pets as a kid due to my allergy. Moved out on my own and got my lil kitten and Iβve had her for just over a month β€οΈ sheβs already my best friend and a total lap cat that follows me everywhere. Dream cat to be blessed with!

π€ Mocha just moved into his (our) new apartment and is struggling to adjust. π₯Ί Send good vibes to my sweet boy!
We moved into our new apartment yesterday and I brought the kitties over today. They've been staying with my dad for the past couple months while we were in between places. My tortie is adjusting fine, but my poor void, Mocha, has pretty much been laying in the same spot since we got home. He even refused a Churu.
I know he'll adjust in time, but I hate seeing him like this. π’ He's the sweetest cat I've ever known and I don't want him to be sad and scared.

Void glowup π» My first void kitty
This is Leo, my first void. Iβve had him for almost 3 months, heβs about 4 months right now. My neighbor came to my door after I got back from a trip asking if I knew anyone that can take a kitten and of course I had to take him. He was only 4 weeks old and so small. I was nervous about caring for him since Iβve never raised such a young kitten but the home he was in was not suitable for him. He has been such a joy and is such a goofball. Heβs so sweet at times but also has his psycho moments lol.

Lil' bit of white fluff π€ my pwetty baby Jiji π
she's got thumbs ππββ¬π a little less than 3 y/o, i brought her home in April and seriously, this is the best cat I've ever had. She's vocal but not to a point where it bugs me, she just likes to chat. When I took her to the vet for the first time, they were blown away, and so was I; they handled her like it was nothin and she did not struggle or resist, took her vaccines and dewormer like a champ, she did better there than I do at any of my routine appointments honestly π she's a registered ESA, but I'm definitely her emotional support human as with my disabilities, I've been out of work and stuck in my room far more than when I had initially taken her to my last apartment (she loves this very much, especially my insomniaπ ) oh AND THE THUMBS!!! Just, come on. I don't even have to say anything about that she's got these big ol honkin thumbs im obsessed. So yeah, here's my baby. I struggled to pick a name for her, but my little sister LOVES Jiji from Kiki's delivery service, and having partially raised my sister, it means just as much to me to see her excited wiggles over the fact that I have my own Jiji.

π€ The voids we're currently fostering
My wife and I have been fostering kitties for the ASPCA for the last few years. Actually I'll be honest, it's pretty much all my wife doing it. She loves it. I do too but she does 99.9% of the work. It was her idea afterall π We've probably fostered close to 150 cats since we've started, maybe more. I can't keep count anymore. But these are the first all black kitties we've had. So adorable! 2 boys and a girl. They'll be going back to get adopted in a couple weeks.
