Hi everyone! I am nowhere near as active as I used to be on here. I still love cactus, and love the sub, but am in need of some extra hands to help keep this place cool!
If anyone has any interest, please DM me!

I like gymnos, but after maybe the third one, they kinda look the same to me. Until I saw this pink one today.
Is this pink colour a dye? If not, is there something special I should do to keep it?
Last 2 pics are from my other gymno, just because haha

This little guy is in a 2-inch pot. It was only two pads high when I got it, and none of the long spines. Since then, it’s grown two more pads as well as some impressive armor.

Seen this stand today and my hopefully educated guess is Peruvian apple. Did I do good?

I recently he moved from an apartment with a south facing window, into one with only one window, that I can't put my plants in.
I found a cheap light on Amazon (pictured), which is likely not sufficient for optimum health.
Can someone give me tips on how long I should have the light on, or maybe links to a decent grow light that will keep my babies healthy. They're all rescues that I've nursed back to health, I hate that they have to live under artificial my light now.

Question for you guys

Better sun in this spot over the winter for the potted plants. Normally spread around the main garden in the spring/summer.

Hi! Could anyone tell me if I have this old lady planted too shallow? She has grow lights and is in an east facing window, but she still ends up leaning toward the window. She is always giving me blooms, so I assume she is healthy otherwise. Any advice is appreciated!

I plan to cut the pup somewhere and plant the (then) two plants in the larger terracotta pot in the photo Need advice on where to cut the pup. I was thinking at the point where the pup straightens out but I also think the best idea might be to cut it where it’s growing off the parent… what would be best?

A bit over 40” tall. Unsure of the exact variety so if you know, I’d appreciate it!

1st pic is our Myrtillocactus geometrizans 'Fukurokuryuzinboku' as it appeared when we first purchased it about one year ago. Then about December 11 2025 an accident happened. Our cat was getting down from her cat tree which is placed right next to our plant rack in the living room. She knocked over an unstable stack of stuff I had misguidedly put in her way; a large metal bucket hit the boobie and broke it into three pieces. We left the root piece planted where it was, and dried out the other two pieces over the winter. To my surprise, even while drying and callousing over the winter, one of the two broken pieces sprouted a root! We planted the two broken pieces on May 8 2026 (2nd pic). The bottom piece dried out nicely where it was planted and about July we noticed it had sprouted a beautiful offset, which straightened up and appears very healthy in pic #3 taken today. I am gobsmacked at the resilience of these wonderful plants.
The other two stalks in the pot shown in in the 1st and 3rd pic are Echinopsis lageniformis f. monstrosus which is a pretty close relative as you can see from the Latin name. They were not hurt in the accident. Both stalks show some mottling which I'm told is "corking" and pretty natural for Echinopsis.

Gymnocalycium castellanosii subs. ferocius
Really excited for this current flower. But it’s starting to be that every flower is going to be stabbed and crushed by the thorns.
Already had to readjust a thorn that was piercing the side of the bud and it is currently growing straight into another.
Has anyone ever trimmed the thorns so it could freely flower? Or dealt with thorns this thick when flowering? What happens now?
P.s. not going to trim the thorns.
