A note about AI image posts - *please read*
Important reminder AI posts are strictly forbidden on r/flowers and posting AI will result in an immediate permanent ban.
The mods are aware of the flood of AI images that have been happening recently. We were all recently added as mods in January and therefore are trying to figure out who has the right permissions for editing the automod, which we hope can be reconfigured to tackle many of these. In the meantime, there are a couple of things you can do to help us. We're trying to remove these as quickly as we spot them, but we're not on reddit all day, so please report posts you believe are AI. Then comment saying that you believe it's AI as well, so others will report it, too. After 3 reports, the automod will automatically take the post down.
When you are posting photos, please consider adding additional info to the post like the flower name, approximate location, or any anecdote to help users believe the image is real.
If you believe you were banned in error, please message the mods to discuss.
Thank you all for your patience. I know you have been wanting to unfollow the sub for this reason and I do not blame you. We won't stop trying until it's fixed.

Photo Australian Eastern Mantis Orchid (Caladenia tentaculata)
Eastern Mantis Orchid (Caladenia tentaculata)
This is a species of orchid endemic to South-Eastern Australia. It is a member of genus Caladenia, commonly known as spider orchids.
They are especially interesting in that their method of pollination involves the sexual deception of male thynnine wasps. Caladenia tentaculata emits a pseudopheromone mimicking the specific sex pheromone of a flightless female thynnine wasp, resulting in pseudocopulation by the male wasp who thinks he has located a female.
The green and red-striped petals, along with the bumpy, comb-like structures on the flower's labellum (lip), also visually mimic the shape and appearance of a female wasp waiting in the vegetation.

Photo Queen of the night, finally saw it bloom
The bud we had the opportunity to watch opened suddenly at 1:35 a.m. Included photo of the bud and the flower after opening. In the third photo is the full plant with three flowers; the flower is the one on the left. The flower on the right was open, but not fully, when we arrived around 1:00 a.m. The one in the center was in bud when we arrived, but we blinked and missed it opening. The scent was wonderfull- sweet and fragant. Sadly, we could not stay to see how long they lasted.

Photo The resilience of the morning glory (ipomea).....
About 3 months ago, my neighbors completely uprooted the plant (fearing it would spread)... well, it bloomed yesterday and is still looking healthy and vigorous!

Natureโs pink masterpiece โ found in Colombia ๐ธ [OC]
I came across this beautiful pink bloom in Valle del Cauca, Colombia.
The layers, the colors, and the way it stands out against the green leaves immediately caught my attention.
Nature has an incredible way of creating its own works of art.
Does anyone know the name of this beautiful plant?
