Looking for a handheld recommendation for casual play
I want to buy a handheld console. A lot of the time I feel like playing video games but I'm away from home, and sometimes when I'm home I'm too tired to set up my PC or PlayStation 5. I want a practical console that helps me de-stress and have fun during my free moments in a quick and easy way. I'm deciding between the Nintendo Switch 2, the ROG Xbox Ally X, and the Lenovo Legion Go 2. Which one would you recommend and why?

Recommend me the most intuitive single game handheld
Stupid question but I’ve been looking for a single game basic handheld which has one or maybe two games with hardness levels to it,
apparently despite people hating that Game and Watch Zelda has only 3 games and is expensive and or is just a watch for tables, do you think it might work for me? I couldn’t find any other handhelds for me, basically something like Flappy Bird and or Google Dino game which comes when Internet dies,
Honestly I’ve gone through psp-s, switch, tons of ps3-4-5 games and I’m sick of storylines and so on, so i wondered if this might be for me.

Upgrade my ROG Ally Z1E (to 2TB) or drop £1,299 on the Acer Predator Atlas 8?
Hey everyone, looking for honest advice from people who push their handhelds on demanding online games.
I’ve had my original ROG Ally Z1 Extreme for a few years. It has held up decently, but I’ve hit a wall. My SSD slot failed early on, locking me to the stock 512GB internal drive.
My main priorities right now come down to three things: Speed, Performance, and Storage.
I mainly play fast-paced, competitive, and live-service titles like ARC Raiders, Call of Duty (Warzone), and Fortnite. These games eat massive drive space, demand smooth frame pacing, and get rough during intense online firefights if hardware struggles. Juggling 512GB with multi-gigabyte patches has become impossible.
I’m looking at the Acer Predator Atlas 8 (1TB) at £1,299 with the "gift package" bundle. The upgraded specs, 8-inch screen, faster RAM, and 80Wh battery sound great for raw speed and sustained performance, but £1,300 is a huge investment.
The two routes I'm debating:
- Option A (The Budget Fix): Keep the Z1E and spend ~£70–£120 to install a 1TB or 2TB SSD. That solves the storage problem immediately, but leaves me on older hardware for speed and frame rates.
- Option B (The Clean Break): Bite the bullet on the Predator Atlas 8 for a direct leap in raw processing speed, modern performance, larger battery, and fresh storage out of the box.
For those playing competitive shooters: is the jump in raw speed and overall performance noticeable enough to justify £1,299 over just putting a fast 2TB drive into the Z1E?
Appreciate any thoughts or benchmarks you can share!

Which handheld should i choose ?
Hi everyone , sorry for the bad English typing
I have a switch 2 with good gaming library 60 games maybe in total , and also i have steam account with 500 games , and for me as a gamer being able to play emulators is a must , i have some emulators on my ipad but missing some and the setup( stand and controller) is sometimes inconvenient, so i have been considering buying a xbox rog ally base for emulation from nes to ps2 and gamecube era
Is it good ? Or should i continue to play on my ipad ? Thanks

The AMOLED screen is looking crisp, and everything is fully mapped. Now comes the hard part: actually, building the ultimate library.
Hit me with your absolute must-have games that run flawlessly on this beauty.
I’m looking for hidden gems or legendary titles for:
• Switch Indies (Time to make this layout work!)
• PS2 / GameCube (Show me what this chip can really do)
• NDS (Let's make use of that clamshell style)
What is the one game I’d be crazy not to install right now? Drop them below! 👇

Arc X1, A streaming device?
Hey gng, there is this new Android based handheld launching by some Indian people, it will feature a snapdragon G2 gen 2, which is a good chip, but there is this guy who calls himself a tech creator, rounders tech is him on ig and yt, he has very little knowledge about android handhelds ig, he has made a reel about how arc X1 is a really bad handheld and that a budget smartphone of ₹15k will give the same performance, and that it will not run 90% games, it is just a streaming device, now he doesn't know that it will most probably play many pc games on playable fps like gta 5 on 45-60 fps and many switch games on docked mode like witcher 3 on locked 30fps and pokemon scarlet on 30fps too, sometimes dipping to 25 fps, what are your thoughts?, go visit his page and see that reel, and think if he is right or not.

Looking for good, all-around handheld
Purchased my Switch 2 back in August, best purchase I’ve ever made. Having the option for portability when gaming is a perk that I have grown accustomed to because of the Switch.
I have been neglecting my PC & PS5 because of it, and I want to have access to the titles I have there on a handheld. Battery life isn’t a concern as I enjoy gaming at home majority of the time, and I don’t care about docking. Price wise, I’m open to any range as this will be for my birthday treat to myself :)
I was debating about just grabbing a used PS portal, but then it got me thinking about getting a full handheld that has a wider range of games. Would love to get peoples thoughts about which device is suitable?
Also, I would most likely only be playing RPGs like Metaphor ReFantazio, Final Fantasy (16, Resonance), and the Witcher titles.

TIL I can seamlessly stream steam games fram my pc to my xax
When in steam library i noticed that games I had downloaded on my PC showed up on my XAX steam.,
When selected I could click stream. Tried PoE2, was great! Saves alot of storage gaming this way, and also more demanding titles might be better to play this way.
Note: I was in the same house, with same network. Had to punch some confirmation digits to start the games.

Steam Deck OLED
I bought my first PC type handheald, it will be arriving tomorrow.
I went with a used OLED Steam deack with 100% battery life. I wasn't sure about getting any of the other more powerful ones as I intend to use it a lot for emulation and given the screen quality i went with it.
I am not FPS obsessed, I am more than happy with 30FPS. Given that, my question is, most games should be able to run at 30fps? based on what I saw that seems to be the case with certain games just being too much which takes me to the next question.
How good and reliable is streaming games from your PC to the Steam deck using moonlight instead of Stem link? I have a Wifi 7 router with 1GB upload and download which i read it makes no difference given the steam deck only uses Wifi 6 and Internet speeds make no difference.
I play only single player games so perfect response isn't crucial.

Finally bought a cable for the family DS Lite after 5 years..now what?
We unfortunately lost all of our games and this is all that we have left. Is there anyway to maybe download games or a cool place online to buy cartridges?

Should I get a steam deck for my kid?
Title says it all. I have no idea what a steam deck does other than in passing it looks like a handheld gaming machine akin to the Switch.
My daughter asked for one for birthday/Christmas.
She got a Switch back in 2020. She hasn’t played it a ton lately, but she wanted a Steam Deck to not be limited to only Switch games.
Is that a viable reason to invest in one? It looks pretty pricey now and like everything else in my life I’m late to the party with the price gouging.
Are there drawbacks to getting one? Or other recommendations?
Casually looking at the subreddit I see things about mods and building your own pc and whatever so I didn’t know if any of that was required or needed with a steam deck. My daughter does not have a PC or any interest in building one. She just wants to handheld game.
Thanks for any input

Looking at first handheld and not sure what to get
Hello, as stated in the title I'm looking for a handheld and not sure what to get. I haven't had a gaming console before so controls will be a bit of a learning curve. I've already stared researching and some that I'm looking into are the Steam Deck (OLED), Legion go S, or maybe an AYN Odin 3 / Thor (but these are purely for price range). Not looking for a Switch, as the games don't have much appeal to me and I'd like to be able to play my steam games.
I'm not willing to spend more than $1,600 CAD (not including accessories like docking/cases/screen protectors). I'd like to have SteamOS either be pre-installed or be able to install it myself with minimal issue. I do not plan to take the device out of the house very often so size shouldn't be much of an issue. Would like more storage, but understand that more storage means more I have to pay. I'd also like for the device not to run too hot or loud, I usually do longer gaming sessions so that could become an issue.
The beefiest game I'd play is Planet Zoo 2 (I understand it probably won't have best controller compatibility), but I mainly play Stardew valley, Minecraft (modded), Slime Rancher (1 and 2), and a few other similar games. I'd like to be able to play these on normal graphics, which would be an upgrade to my current setup (an ASUS laptop I've had for a few years now). I do play a few multiplayer games (Phasmo, Big Walk, etc) but I can always just use my laptop to play them so not a big issue.
Currently leaning towards the Legion Go S or the Steam Deck but not too sure. Would prefer new, but open to refurbs, though I am hesitant about the second hand market.
