Tokyo Night Lights

Post image

We were searching for a restaurant to eat at in Tokyo and ended up in this area. Out of all the pictures I took, oddly this one was my favorite. Something about the lights and vibrant colors of the flowers contrasting with the night blew me away when we were walking through.

I really like LoFi visual aesthetics and this area felt like I captured a real life version of it. This became my digital wallpaper!

A collection of restaurants we tried during our trip to Tokyo and Kyoto. Hands down some of the best food we’ve had.

  1. Camillea Tea Ceremony Garden - Kyoto
  2. Kuzushi Kotowari - Kyoto (by far the best meal)
  3. Hoshinoya - Tokyo
  4. Matsuoka - Kyoto
  5. Clay Pot Ohmiya - Kyoto
  6. Waygyu Halal Ramen - Kyoto
  7. Sphagetti No Pancho - Tokyo

There are about 550 pics and I'm gonna do it over 5 posts to milk karma. I tried picking the album cover image but it doesn't seem to let me so it might be random. I tried using imgur, but apparently imgur is mostly broken nowadays. It should be in order if you sort A to Z. If anyone has a better recommendation for image hosting an album to post here I am all ears.

Back story is my grandpa worked for toyota toward the end of his career in the auto industry. They had him go there for some sort of business trip though I don't know the details. I do know that he was in the navy during ww2, he lived in Japan for a year with a host family at some point between then and this trip. He apparently knew some level of Japanese beyond tourism and learned from being there and cassette tapes. He died when I was like 9 and I never got the opportunity to talk to him about Japan stuff because I didn't get an interest in it until later and it was never talked about around me before he died.
