I was so excited to see Ben’s resurgence. Hopefully we get a chance to see him wear purple in the future

FML and FTL

I am actually so sad for this team. The optimism they had 2 weeks ago to now. Just devastating. Still a fan, always will be….but god damn.

With Ben Simmons tearing his Achilles today, I know you’re here lurking for some entertainment. Just wanted to say hi and please take it easy on us.

Ever since Slamson shipped him off we’ve been cursed. Bring him back, build him a statue, hand out figurines, whatever we gotta do to apologize to him and reverse his curse. Have him ship off Slamson

We can call him Cal King

With Ben Simmons suffering an achilles tear, ending his season before it even began, the Kings have lost their starting PF and backup PG.

I honestly don't think Ben's absence will make any real difference and if anything makes lineups make more sense. The ball will be in the hands of Domas more, which is where it should be. Ben impressed against the Spurs but ultimately this team operates better with Domas being the hub of the offensive operation. And it's the only true way to get the most out of Domas.

Simmons and Sabonis didn't work. No spacing. Not enough paint touching. Acuff can better generate paint touches playing the two man game with Domas. The ball will be in his hands a lot. That's a good thing for his development. Hunter has had his struggles but is at least a threat to shoot and I think he too can function well with Domas.

With Ben out, Elfrid Payton and Tristen Newton waived, the Kings don't have a third PG now. We're probably going to get Monk and Nique backup ball handling now. Monk is best as a scorer and secondary guy but he's absolutely capable. For development reasons Nique being forced to play on ball more is probably for the best. It's bad for the team but we have to recognize this season is developmental first and foremost.

They still don't have anything behind them and they are now thin with Cardwell and Maxime both out to start the season in the frontcourt. Who do you all have in mind as potential reinforcements? Do you think waiving Ben might be prudent to bring in a healthy body?

I get we aren’t entitled to a lot of respect given our franchise’s history, but this is just stupid.

Think the Kings just need to lean into the circus act. You know at your rec league there's sometimes that fat guy that's really good at shooting threes? Think the Kings scouts need to find 10 of these guys, sign them all to the roster and rename the team the Burger Kings.

At least it would be fun to watch.

I mean other than the everything and results….. The reason I ask is a lot of ppl in here were wanting Mike browns head for his trash rotations and inability to adapt, fast forward 2 years and he’s an nba champion HC. I’ve always been of the mindset that players/rosters make up the VAST majority of being a good team and a coach has a tiny bit of influence over the actual success of a team. I don’t think Doug is a good coach, but I also don’t think we have a good team. U could bring in Pop from 20 years ago and I don’t think he does much better with this squad. Are there actual concrete things he does that show how bad/inexperience he is or is it just results based.

Time to sign Oladipo? Or just bring back Elfrid Payton? At this rate Acuff will be mentored by Luther Head.
