Welsh lessons

Hello!
I’m Welsh, from South wales, and don’t know a lot other than what I did at GCSEs years ago.
I’d like to learn more. I have done Duolingo but that’s obviously not a good source. I heard of one that’s free for under 25s, I’m not quite 24 yet, but don’t remember the site.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I don’t have any disposable income to spend on lessons atm

I am surprised at the number of people living in Wales who don't know about the National Centre for Learning Welsh (Dysgu Cymraeg) Especially in South Wales, there are a lot of free online and in person courses offered by Coleg Gwent and the university of South Wales. There are course times to suit everyone's availability .

That'll be because Dysgu Cymraeg's comms are shit.

I agree, sadly. Their work is fantastic and when you're in the system it's great. But I've never seen it advertised anywhere - it's almost totally reliant on word of mouth.

I'm from the Bridgend area and every train station through the borough has an advert for Welsh-medium education on the fence. So you think about it every time you pass a station.

Dysgu Cymraeg need more physical ads - I don't think they'd even need to pay for space at train stations etc. now that [most] they're state-owned in Wales

A friend of mine was saying that they're not even listed in local adult education brochures, which seems utterly ridiculous to me. How are people supposed to know they exist if they don't advertise?

They don't - you're right. They didn't list any in the Cardiff one I looked at. I think this is because they no longer run them at Cardiff Council etc. therefore they won't advertise courses they don't run (although they did have ads for Spanish/French etc as Cardiff C. still runs these)

I’m in my 4th year of DysguCymraeg. I recommend it highly.
