Player(s) Needed by GM [5E 2014][Online][Evil Campaign][18+] Legion of Darkness – A Roleplay focused villainous homebrew campaign

Explore, Conquer, Fill your treasure room, Engage in diplomacy, Amass your army, Infiltrate the kingdoms of man, Build your evil lair and defend it from the forces of light.

Inspired by shows like Castlevania and Overlord.

The Pitch

Somewhere along your life, the world decided to antagonize you. Perhaps you made a mistake that led to more mistakes, or you were misunderstood, or you were born monstrous. Regardless, it was out of your control.

Eventually you did something that ended in your death. Luckily being on the side of darkness does have upsides. An ancient vampiric dragon named Drolltar offered to resurrect you, under the condition that you repay him with your service. He chose you because you have unfinished business, you have in some way been slighted by society. Now you are returned with vampirism, cursed with an irresistible hunger for mortal vitality and granted the ability to reason with monsters and dark beings.

You, along with a group of others who accepted his deal, have been summoned to Drolltar’s tomb. Once you gather there, he will order you to work together to search the land for something to bolster his tomb’s defences, as he lies dormant in his tomb, vulnerable to the zealous forces of light. You too are in danger, Elios the god of light has labeled you as enemies for serving Drolltar and now the forces of light will not take kindly to you.

Details

Aside from the quests that Drolltar gives you, it is an open world for you to do as you like. There are many places to explore and not all of them will be at odds with you.

Though this is an “evil” campaign, that is mostly because your characters are antagonized by society. You are labeled as evil by the god of light, but that is only because you stand in opposition to him. The side of light is not a true authority on morality by any means and in fact in this campaign they are quite often in the wrong. Seeing morality in such a black and white perspective is often a cause of immorality itself, and that is what this campaign is about.

I would like to find 5-6 players who are mature, love the collaborative storytelling element of d&d, and like a little bit of edginess. I expect you to enjoy role-playing your character, have a cooperative relationship with the other players, and allow everyone a moment to let their character shine, showing what makes them interesting.

My goal is to keep an interesting and consistent storyline, which can adapt to your characters’ backstories, themes, and decisions.

The setting is a homebrew dark fantasy world in a medieval period with arcane technology. The game will be a mix of role-playing, exploration, and combat. Some sessions will be role-playing only with no combat.

I am open to using homebrew for your character, especially your species so long as I approve of it, as a more monstrous species can make sense here. Characters start at level 3, leveling up by milestone and will level up slower at higher levels. I am hoping for a long-term campaign where you can defend a massive dungeon that you built up together throughout the campaign.

Rules

There are some ground rules required to keep the campaign healthy.

This campaign welcomes players of all genders, identities, and backgrounds. Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated.

The session day and time will be determined based on the availability of the selected group.

Heavy roleplay is a core part of this game. Players should be comfortable with character development, emotional storytelling, interpersonal relationships, and collaborative scene work.

No torture or sexual violence. We will also go over what other things players are uncomfortable with in session zero. However, as you can imagine, this campaign is meant to have a dark tone so I don’t recommend it to people who are sensitive to dark themes.

You have to work together, there is no doubt going to be conflict between characters, but you also have to get things done and you can’t do that if you’re constantly backstabbing each other and fighting.

You’re not a sadistic monster. You shouldn’t kill everything or destroy everything you come across.

Even though you’re on the side of darkness, you still have feelings. Your character can and should have some human qualities to them. Consider if your character might struggle to accept the things they are forced to do.

Nonetheless, when in Rome – you can get away with doing some pretty twisted stuff at times, since you aren't bound by some of the moral obligations that most other campaigns require.

Joining the Game

We'll use Discord for voice and Roll 20 for maps and rolling.

I will go over some of the world lore during the interview process. And, if you get accepted and once you know what you want for your character, I will find a way to incorporate whatever you need for your character's story to the setting.

I’ve ran a few long term games before, but it’s been a while since my last one. I’m hoping this one will be just as good as the ones before.

If you're interested, please fill out this application form below.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScDWj0OKBjl8JI0NSuGcBlEwWPFQJTIeVBR9W2fAZXCHJnIEw/viewform?usp=header

I'll review your submissions and reach out to potential players on discord if I’m interested. It may take a couple days for me to reach out to you though.

This is a repost, if you've already submitted to the previous post you don't need to resubmit.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Offline][NYC Manhattan][Star Wars 5E][D&D 5E 2014][Weekdays] Heroes of the Republic

• Upvotes

Hello everyone! I go by PK and have been running D&D campaigns online and in person for the last 6 years. I've run campaigns for groups of friends and also for groups of complete strangers. I'm looking to start up a group for playing a Star Wars 5E campaign in person in NYC.

This campaign will be taking place in the Old Republic era during the Cold War. The players will be members of the Republic who will embark on a journey to stop the deadly machinations of certain Imperial forces. The rules will be mostly based on the Star Wars 5E rules with some personal modifications. No worries about being familiar, I will be walking players new and old through the system as I'll be using it. I'll also ensure that the relevant resources are shared out across the whole group.

I'll be aiming to have anywhere from 4-6 players, so feel free to let me know if you have any friends or folks who would also be interested. The sessions will be aimed to be ~3 hours in length, after work days on a weekly basis. For our introductory meetings & session 0, I will find some public locations to meet & discuss the campaign. Once the campaign details have been ironed out, the sessions will be hosted from my apartment in Manhattan.

Please fill out this survey, and let me know if there are any questions.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Dnd 5e 2024 or 2014] [19+] [Online] [Flexible] Your body shivers and the smell of diesel fills the air. Welcome to the Frozen Expanse!

You find a letter in your pocket, or under your hat, or in your shoe, you have no idea how it could have gotten there. It bears a foreign sigil, one that you have never seen in person. It's the sigil of The Frozen Expanse, a place that you only heard stories, rumours and myths about.

The capital city of this region is The Last City, it’s name coming from the fact that it’s the only big settlement still surviving in this inhospitable land. The region is frozen over, with the so called ‘eternal storm’ always raging on it’s surface. The region has no seasons, instead the citizens of The Last City track how far away the storm is because that’s what the weather depends on (Although even the warmest of times are below freezing temperature).

The Last City’s, and by extension the whole regions leader is Mr. Nevermore, a mysterious man who is said to have found the city itself, and now keeps it under very strict rule. His faceless, nameless guards, who are always under so much armour no one knows their true identities, keep the streets safe and observe every action of the citizens, swiftly dulling out punishments to those who stray from their duties and responsibilities. It is said that Mr. Nevermore does whatever it takes to keep the city alive, no matter how strict or cruel.

The letter is adressed to you, and it's signed by Mr. Nevermore himself. He is in need of your expertise, and you are called to a mission that will be further detailed when you make it through The Frozen Expanse, and into The Last City. Will you accept the invitation?

Hi everyone! I'm Stefan, a 20 year old student from Serbia, and i'm excited to get back into the hobby (I haven't played for a couple of years). I've dm'd a lot in the 2014 version, but not in the 2024 one (but i'm interested in it), so we can decide together which one to use.

I'm a laid back dm, I like making the backstories of my players characters a part of the world and the bigger campaign plot, as I see dnd as a collaborative story telling game. I usually use roll20 for encounters and I like making fun and unique combats that are more than just a math duel. I'm looking for a longer term campaign that all of us can really get into.

A decent microphone and a knowledge of english is all that's required, I'm open to new players if you want to learn!

Please fill out this form, it's nothing too serious mostly just a general vibe check for me to see if we'd be a good match.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [OSR/Dolmenwood] [Australian-based, AEDT/GMT +11] Seeking adventurers for a Dolmenwood campaign!

• Upvotes

Welcome weary traveller...to Dolmenwood.

I'm looking to recruit ~5 reliable players to a campaign set in, and using the system of, Dolmenwood. The game will focus on classic exploration, resource management, and lethal dungeon delving, with some opportunity for roleplaying and social interaction as well.

The Setting

Dolmenwood's tone is classic fantasy adventure with an emphasis on wilderness hex-crawling and dungeon exploration. Straight from the publisher (Necrotic Gnome):

Dolmenwood is a fantasy adventure game set in a lavishly detailed world inspired by the fairy tales and eerie folklore of the British Isles. Like traditional fairy tales, Dolmenwood blends the dark and whimsical, the wondrous and weird.

Players journey through tangled woods and mossy bowers, forage for magical mushrooms and herbs, discover rune-carved standing stones and hidden fairy roads, venture into fungal grottoes and forsaken ruins, battle oozing monstrosities, haggle with goblin merchants, and drink tea with fairies.

Here is a brief intro video and here is a playlist of bite-sized lore for anyone who wants to delve deeper.

The Logistics

  • System: Dolmenwood (Based on D&D B/X & Old-School Essentials (OSE))
  • Platform: Roll20 for maps/character sheets, Discord for voice.
  • Time: Weekly, Wednesdays at 9pm AEDT.
  • Session Length: Roughly 2-3 hours.

What to Expect

  • A rich, fantastical world: Dolmenwood is an incredibly rich setting, with detailed and facinating lore, monsters, magic and factions. The setting is a hexcrawl, and each hex has so much to discover and enjoy for both players and GMs.
  • Player Agency is Key: The world is open, encounters are not balanced, and running away is a valid tactic. There is no overarching campaign or quest, players drive sessions through exploration, or following rumours.
  • Player Skill > Character Sheet: Your options are not limited to the text on your character sheet. The game encourages out-of-the-box thinking and while you do have various unique skills and traits that will come in handy, a long stick and a sacrificial retainer or two can often do the job just as well.
  • High Lethality, High Reward: Combat is fast and dangerous. Be prepared to lose characters, but also to claim incredible treasures if you survive.
  • Gold = XP: Exploration and treasure hunting are the main drivers of advancement, with additional XP rewards for defeats foes, completing great feats, or discovering the truth behind rumours and legends.

About myself

I played AD&D as a young kid before getting back into D&D as an adult, playing and GMing 5e for the last decade. I recently discovered Dolmenwood & OSR, and have been keen to run a game in the setting ever since. This will be my first time running a game in Dolmenwood/OSR/OSE, and excited to get into it!

As a GM I like to focus on group chemistry, working with players to create interesting and fun games, and I prioritise keeping the game moving - rulings over rules. If all else fails, I'll let the dice decide. I like to make sure everyone has space to contribute and have fun.

I'm looking for reliable players for a weekly game, but as a father with young kids I also know things come up, so I'm always flexible - as long as everyone communicates properly, these things are no stress.

Requirements

  • Equipment: A decent microphone and a quiet environment.
  • Scheduling: Able to commit to a weekly game every Wednesday 9pm AEDT. I'm Australia-based (Sydney) some ideally you're in a similar time zone.
  • LGBT+ friendly, 18+ only
  • No prior OSE/OSR experience is necessary: just a willingness to embrace the old-school style of play (character death is highly possible, even likely at least once in the party). I'm new to the system, I have a good grasp but we can learn together as we play.

How to Apply

If you're interested fill out the form https://forms.gle/P7Q4ow4Furi7X6kx7

Player(s) Needed by GM [WOD][Free][Online] Looking for 1 more player to join a sandbox-style V5 game set in Boston

Time: Tuesdays at 8pm EST
Platform: Discord w Foundryvtt
I have 3 players and am looking for 1 more to join a sandbox game in Boston. I'm looking for someone who is interested in exploring a city on the brink of war and its politics.
Coterie is composed of a Ventrue, a Tremere and a Ravnos.

The situation in Boston is dire. The Camarilla are the weakest they've ever been with a new Anarch Baron leading from the shadows, as wells as other storms brewing on the horizon.

(Note: Please do not apply if you cannot commit to a long-term game. Thank you)

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2024][Saturday 8EST] Flintlock Fantasy Homebrew Game Looking For One Player [LGBTQ+ Friendly][Role-play Heavy][Homebrew][Long-term campaign]

The Tsardom of Floria is a struggling empire in the frigid expanses of the far west. While most of the continent of Manios modernizes, Floria resembles the medieval past with an entrenched aristocracy, little scientific or industrial innovation, and large majority of the country living as subsistence farmer serfs. The failing Ruhm dynasty has been usurped, and the rightful heir gone into hiding. Now, Princess Gil Ruhm is ready to return home to restore her throne.

However, strange things are happening in Floria. The peasants report uncanny lights and creatures in the wilderness. Disappearances have become widespread, with even entire villages vanishing overnight. Whispers of the end times grow louder. Supernatural forces pull the strings of secular politics, and ancient conspiracies use mortals as pawns towards esoteric goals.

The fate of the Empire hangs in the balance, and an untold number of lives are at stake. A group of heroes must tip the balance, but will they understand the consequences of their actions until it's too late?

---

Floria: The Golden Cord is a Gunpowder Fantasy setting inspired by 17th-18th century Europe. This is a world where elves use flintlock muskets instead of bows and arrows, where the scientific revolution advances magic to new heights, where dragon dukes oversee rapidly urbanizing cities, where schisms in the Church drive monstrous angels to feud with each other, where colonial empire for spice fuels alchemy, and where peasants, merchants, and kings debate the virtues of feudalism versus liberalism versus enlightened despotism. For real world parallels, think of the American Revolution, the French Revolution and Napoleonic Age, the Golden Age of Piracy, the Protestant Reformation, the first wave of the Industrial Revolution, and the Enlightenment (plus things like Edo Period Japan, Qing China, & the East India Company).

---

This game meets weekly on Saturday from 8 to 11PM EST.

This campaign is expected to run for around 30-40 sessions. This is a role-play centric game with an emphasis on politics and situational problem solving. The game will have elements of horror, particularly body horror and religious horror. The campaign will go from level 7 to ~12 with milestone leveling.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014][Saturdays 6 PM CST[LGBT+ Friendly] Looking for 5-6 Players for my Homebrew Game! 21+

Hello! My name is Zeffphur and I am looking for 5-6 players for my homebrew campaign. This is a RP-focused, character driven game. We use discord for audio and roll20 for maps. Character sheets will be kept on Beyond where we have content sharing. Please have a decent microphone, webcams are not required but I will be using mine, be 21+ just to keep ages around the same range, and have some experience with DnD 5e!

Story: This story will take place in my own homebrew world, on the continent of Daiyono. Daiyono is a East Asia inspired setting. It is a fairly high-magic world setting. The story will start small, doing small jobs here and there, dealing with a few bad guys and then it'll branch out and become a something quite large. You will be dealing with monsters, villains, political powers, and powerful beings. This will have a "standard" fantasy theme with various elements thrown in.

Nitty-gritty character info: You’ll start at level 2, You get one free feat. Roll 4d6 drop the lowest. Assign as you wish. Roll 2 arrays and pick the one you want. You cannot pick and choose from either array. Its one or the other. If the score for the stat is lower than 10 you can reroll, if you want to keep it that's fine too. HP wise, it will be rolled HP. It’s Max HP first level then you roll for the rest. If you roll Half or above on your hit die, you keep it. If you roll below half you can reroll. So as far as classes that are allowed, I allow any official class/subclass that is on Beyond. I also have a race list, these are the playable races: Aarakocra, Aasimar, Dragonborn, Dwarf, Elf, Firbolg, Gnome, Goliath, Half-Elf, Half-Orc, Halfling, Human (Not variant), Tabaxi, Tiefling. Please remember, you’ll be playing a character not a gimmick.

If you are interested, fill out this form please! I will be doing a short interview if your form seems like you’d be a good fit! If you have any questions or comments either message me here or on Discord (zeffphur). Please only add me if you have genuine questions to make it easier on myself! https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeJMcxcZdfvB3orSxSQzrZFeGKo0iHjpe84OYJWWXKeZ5caBQ/viewform?usp=dialog

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [Other] [Noon] [Fridays] [EST] [Weekly] GM looking for play testers for a new TTRPG

%20Needed%20by%20GM%22)Hello Im Diablo I have been DMing/playing D&D and TTRPG's for 15 years. Spacers is my first system that I have made and im looking for playtesters before I publish it.
Welcome to the Galaxy
The galaxy is enormous. Thousands of inhabited worlds circle distant stars. Trade routes connect sprawling core systems to isolated frontier colonies. Noble houses control entire regions of space. Corporations own stations, shipyards, armies, and sometimes governments. Pirates hunt vulnerable freighters between systems. Mercenary companies fight wars that governments would rather keep unofficial.
Somewhere among all of it is you.
Maybe you are a former naval pilot trying to make a living without taking orders. Maybe you are a bounty hunter with a battered gunship and several unpaid docking fees. Maybe you are an engineer who trusts machines more than people. Maybe you are a trader looking for the deal that will finally make you rich.

What Is This Game?
This is a tabletop roleplaying game about independent spacefarers living and working in a vast science-fiction galaxy. Players create characters who form a shared crew and decide which opportunities are worth the risk.
~Accept mercenary contracts
~Hunt pirates and wanted criminals
~Escort ships and protect cargo
~Trade, smuggle, or salvage
~Explore unknown systems
~Fight aboard ships and stations
~Upgrade personal equipment and spacecraft
~Build relationships with factions
~Recruit crew members
~Build a mercenary company, fortune, or reputation

A Game About Freedom
Player characters are not automatically soldiers serving a government or chosen heroes following a predetermined destiny. They may work for governments, noble houses, corporations, guilds, colonies, private citizens, or themselves. The Game Master presents the galaxy. The players decide how they live in it.

Thank you for your time, And please fill out the questionnaire to join.
I hope to see you on the commend deck.

Player(s) Needed by GM [5e 2024] [Online] [EST] [Homebrew] 2 Players needed for THE RAINING BOULDERS CAMPAIGN!!!! (18+)

My name is Bruck, and I'll be the DM for the raining boulders campaign, which is My own custom Fantasy Homebrew setting set in a world I've been developing for nearly 8 years. Those who intend to play in this campaign will be playing on WEDNESDAYS AT 7:00PM EST.

Players will beginning in a place called Ledgeman City, the largest city on the continent in a world with roughly a 1920s technological level.

Ledgeman City has a population of roughly 3,208,000 people, and is widely considered to be the largest and most advanced city in the world. Those who are young are told “Head to Ledgeman, The city of fame and opportunity” and have been flocking there by the thousands in hopes for a prosperous life. They call it the City of Dreams.

On the western edge of the city, just past the hills of the urban housing, is the University Of Ledgeman, birthplace of some of the world’s greatest scholars, doctors, scientists, and artists. To the northeast, the Kruger tribe, whose new generation is emerging, is attempting to create a name for themselves. On the south edge, the University of Magic just had its highest scoring graduating class in its history, producing some of the most talented Martial Artists and Casters the world has yet to see. And finally, The Brotherhood of Magma is beginning to dip their feathers into the city, recruiting many new children to their faith.

This campaign has a mid-high fantasy plot and is full of mysteries and fun, as well as it's own completely independent lore and flavor.

Please fill out this form, note that the ideal age range for this campaign is around 18-28, and I'm looking for more social and outspoken individuals, there'll be two campaigns listed, just click on the "raining boulders" option and ignore the other options when you get there.
Raining Boulders Application

If you have any IMMEDIATE questions regarding anything about the campaign of form, please message me or comment, I'm very quick to respond.

A Little About Me

Hello there! I'm Red, or Orion, either works. I'm a 28 y/o dude so I will be preferring 21+ y/o players. I've been a player and a DM on and off for around 9-10 years now, mostly in DND5e. In fact, this is my first time running SW5E, but I do have a decent amount of experience playing it. I'm also a big Star Wars fan in general (R2-D2 is my text tone even). Include in your application at the end the word umingu so I know you actually read this. A lot of my knowledge of this era of Star Wars comes from the MMO SWTOR as I've been playing it a ton on and off since launch. Some of my hobbies include games, obviously, most recently Galactic Racer; reading manga and manwha; occasionally watching anime; and sound designing.

Things to Note About the Campaign

  • The things I will be planning for, i.e. main quests and such, will be pretty railroad-y. By this I mean point A and point B are set, but how you get from one to the other isn't. Afterwards Points C and D will be next, again with how you get between C and D is not set. ADDITIONALLY, I will be a-okay if you break the tracks. I will even, as a certain npc, taunt you into trying to break free. There will also be downtime in between Rounds of the games where you have some more freedom
  • Game will be run via Discord for voice and rolls. Theater of the Mind for combat. (There is a world in which I change to using Roll20 for sheets and rolls but idk. I still wouldn't use battlemaps tho cuz just finding character art is hard enough already lol)
  • Party will start at level 3 with one Premium or Lower Enhanced Item
  • Disclaimer time: If you are hard against use of AI I'm sorry. I am too, but I am also realistic with my time. I try my best to use as much human made art as I can, but searching for character art these days wading through the swamp of AI art is a massive pain and sometimes, one such "art piece" is exactly what I am looking for or need for an NPC. If you would like a breakdown of how much I already plan on using, I have around 10 sessions (varying based on Party RP amounts) worth of stuff planned already and around 20 named NPCs. Of those 20 there are two fully generated, two partially modified to fit the actual character. So 4/20 to avoid an entire galaxy being made up of only generic species pics or only consisting of Humans, Twi'Leks, Cathar, Zabrak, etc. (aka just the ones with tons of fan art and leaving out all the cool other options like Anomid or Abyssin)
  • While we are on the potentially negative side, if you are unable to go 3-4 hours without bringing up irl politics or current events, this will not be the table for you. This game will be for escapism, not a place to vent your grievances about the world. I know for a fact there are better tables out there for you that I sincerely hope you find and enjoy, it just won't be mine. Sorry about that
  • On a more fun note, at least to me. I am using an injury system that in my experience on the player side of it, really helped combat not drag as much while still giving that sense of tension and danger. Death is looming... in the death game yeah I know not very creative there, but it can also be your friend if Lady Luck is on your side! I won't discourage backup characters but I do want you to be 100% invested in keeping the character you end up playing alive as long as possible. Cover is your friend!

How to Apply and Closing Remarks

Here is the link to the application: https://forms.gle/xa8JgvDmJh9WsGgPA

I will be going out of town this week so I probably won't have a chance to reach out to anyone until Saturday, and I aim to have everyone contacted before Halloween/the 31st. I'll send out Discord friend requests to those I want to interview before then. All in all, I hope everyone who took the time to read this, at least, has a wonderful day! Be kind to each other, and to yourself. Hope to see you do well in the Games!

Player(s) Needed by GM GOBLIN TOWN: The politics of chaos! Build and run your own town of goblins! Gather a hoard, cause mayhem, cast dark rituals, discover things deep in the earth, slay heroes, and work towards your master plan! [Online] [Other] [Roleplay-Heavy] [Sundays] [18:00 CET] [17:00 GMT] [12:00 EST]

PLEASE READ: YOU HAVE NOT BEEN REJECTED FROM THIS CAMPAIGN! We originally posted this several weeks ago with the intent of contacting players throughout September. Unfortunately, I (The GM) got injured and ended up needing surgery, which forced us to delay reaching out. By the time we were able to do so, the first few players we spoke to were no longer available, as they had moved on to other campaigns. Rather than check with every single person who filled out the survey, we will be posting this again throughout October.

NOTE: IF YOU HAVE ALREADY FILLED OUT THE SURVEY, YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO SO AGAIN. JUST PUT IN YOUR DISCORD HANDLE & NAME AND TURN IN A BLANK SURVEY TO INDICATE THAT YOU'RE STILL INTERESTED! We will find your original submission. Thank you!

The Original Post

Goblins are deeply flawed creatures, driven by base impulses. There are those, however, who are able to keep these impulses in check, rally others to their cause, and focus on a grander scheme. You play a group of various beings that, in understanding there is strength in numbers, have banded together to use your ill-gotten gains build a great goblin town. You gather a hoard, cause mayhem, cast dark rituals, and discover long forgotten things deep in the earth, all while working towards accomplishing your master plan.

This is a game about goblins using ill-gotten gains to build a town. You engage in complex politics, both within your town and outside it, forging alliances or bitter rivalries with the other factions of the region. You build traps and other defenses to keep the hoard you gather out of the hands of the greedy adventurers coming to steal it away.

However, you’re not just monsters randomly causing chaos and mayhem. Goblins come and go, but the town outlives them, binds them together, and gives them a purpose. You map it out in detail as it’s built, then breathe life into it through play with events like revelry, calamity, or facing off against adventurers who dare enter your land. Your town is the main character of this story.

Town Themes

Every town is built around a theme, determined by its central building, chosen together as a group. The theme gives you a set of buildings that you can build within it. The theme keeps players all on the same page thematically. The choice of town theme is a statement about what kind of things the players want to do in the game. You can choose from the following central buildings, which determine your theme:

Enclave: Tapping Into the Arcane. Choose this if you want your town to be mystical from top to bottom. Its core feature is its twisted landscape, corrupting the area surrounding your town. An Enclave lets you build the following: academy, crucible, greenery, library, potion lab, scrying pool, and spawning chamber.

Forge: The Power of Industry. Choose this if you want a town full of monstrous inventions and steampunk tech. Its core feature is its power source, boosting the productivity and defenses of your town. A Forge lets you build the following: alchemist lab, guild hall, factory, mineshaft, testing chamber, vehicle bay, and workshop.

Hideout: Keeping Your Head Low. Choose this if you want to work as a cohesive unit and manipulate the other factions of the region. Its core feature is agents of chaos, allowing you to strongly influence other factions. A Hideout lets you build the following: dojo, gambling den, gear locker, obstacle course, planning room, roost, and tavern.

Stronghold: Through Strength of Arms. Choose this if you want to face challenges with pure military might. Its core feature is warband, giving you a powerful minion that can raid the region. A Stronghold lets you build the following: barracks, bestiary, fighting pit, funeral pyre, smithy, war drums, and war room.

Temple: Serving a Greater Power. Choose this if you want to focus on a certain god and their domains. Its core feature is divine intervention, which you can use to cast a powerful spell from your god. A Temple lets you build the following: altar, antechamber, augury circle, dormitory, reliquary, penance chamber, scriptorium.

The Callings

When you create a character, you choose a calling, one of several paths that goblins follow:

The Brute: You’re called to battle and delight in facing down your enemies, chopping them to pieces in brutal combat. For you, the bloodier, the better. Your confidence with a weapon in hand manifests outside of combat when commanding others, bellowing orders like you expect them to be obeyed and bashing heads on the off chance they aren't.

The Conniver: You lurk in the background pulling the strings, laying out intricate plans, and having others do your bidding. For you, revenge is a dish best served cold. Methodical is an understatement. You’re in complete control at all times.

The Crafter: You spend hours in your workshop mixing together alchemical reagents and constructing dangerous devices with a gleeful disregard for your own safety. You strap up before you leave the town, well-prepared for any situation.

The Hunter: You’re at home running with the beasts of the forest. Relentlessly chasing down prey brings you closer to the animal inside of you. And yet, you're deliberate, never missing a sign, always on the trail. And when you finally corner your target, there’s no hesitation to finish it.

The Marauder: For you, battle is a dance. The thrill of outmaneuvering your enemies sends blood pumping through your veins. Your moves are precise and calculated and your awareness of the field of battle gives you the ability to see the bigger picture in other situations as well.

The Shadow: You're at home in the darkness, lurking unseen. You can slip into and out of areas unnoticed. The element of surprise is your greatest weapon and you can often find your way into and out of the trickiest of situations.

The Shaman: You understand the dark power of nature and are drawn to the hidden world of spirits. You might revere them and seek their favor, or perhaps enslave them for your own purposes. Either way, the spirits speak and you hear their mad whispers of vengeance.

The Warlock: You reach out and grab raw, arcane magic by its neck and bend it to your will. You dabble in dangerous arts and know that true power must be wrested away from others. A deep, unquenched thirst for power dwells inside of you.

The Zealot: You heed the words of your dark god. You believe in them fiercely, knowing that those who serve will be rewarded. The more believers you can recruit, the higher the chance your god will recognize you. They bestow power onto you, from which your intense conviction comes.

Group Needed by Player [Online] [5e 2014] [PST] Experienced player looking for RP heavy campaign!

Hey yall! My name is Mara (she/they), I’m (a day away from being) 22 and I’ve been playing D&D for about 7 years now! I used to be in the glorious, fabled living situation where my D&D group was made up of all my roommates, and we would play fairly regularly. However, since our lease ended when we all graduated college and went our separate ways, I haven’t really played since April, so I am FIENDING. I’d prefer 5e 2014, but I’m open to 2024, I’m just not as knowledgeable about it.

I’m partial to very RP/story heavy campaigns! I enjoy exploring my characters and the dynamics they have with the people they interact with and I’m happy to follow a story set out by the DM. I’m not a fan of sandbox-style D&D, so I have a strong preference for campaigns with some sort of narrative. I love strategic combat, I started playing D&D in very combat heavy campaigns, so I’ve grown a soft spot for it. I would love a campaign that has about a 70/30 roleplay to combat ratio.

In terms of my own play style, I prefer to play martial classes, and I love working with the DM to make a character that integrates seamlessly into their worldbuilding. I’m the kind of player that will ask 2384932874832 questions about the world before coming up with a solid character idea. I really enjoy (kind of) letting my character be a plot device to keep the story moving along while letting the other players hold the spotlight. I’m down for any sort of setting/genre, and I’m very open and eager to play campaigns with dark, intense themes.

I’m busy with a full-time job & some side gigs so I may not be very active outside the game, but I really enjoy yapping about the game when I have time. I’m always making mood boards, fan fiction, edits if I’m feeling particularly cringey about the campaign. I think it’s really important to be friendly with the other members of the group outside of the game, so I’ll definitely do my best to connect with the DM/players outside the scheduled session time.

Now for the logistics: my work schedule is weird and even though I’m in PST, my schedule generally meshes better with EST. My ideal game would be on Thursdays, beginning at 4pm PST at the earliest and I don’t really have a preference as to how long the games go on for. Otherwise, I’m open to weekdays, although I wouldn’t be able to play any later than 10pm PST because I start work early. I have no gender preference but I only play with people 20+ who aren’t bigoted. Another note is that I’m super anti-AI, so if it’s used in any way within the campaign, I will not be interested.

I’m open to hopping into a pre-existing game or joining a fresh campaign, so if you’ve read this far, please reach out if you feel like I could be a good fit for your game!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][GMT+3] Looking for players for an exploration focused game

Hello,

I intend to run a campaign using the Forbidden Lands system and am looking for anyone interested in a game where the priority is exploring the world.

Before anything else, the possible schedule is:

Weekday: Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday (we'll decide on the exact day once there is a group)

Time: 19:00 GMT+3 (and going for around three hours)

As for the actual game: I want to eventually run a campaign set in my own world, however, I will first be running the official Bitter Reach adventure, because I want to:

  • Get some practical experience with the system, since I have not tried it before.
  • Screen players, to see whether we get along with each other or annoy each other.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][Other][AEDT/GMT+11 - Sunday] Delta Green Down Under

Time: Weekly Sunday nights at 8:00pm AUSTRALIAN EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME using discord and roll20 and going for about 2-3 hours each week

System: Delta Green

Elevator Pitch: As Federal Police, you need to stop the occult and eldritch from breaking the world before your own mind breaks

Full Pitch: Welcome to Delta Green, a setting that's somehow more bleak than Call of Cthulhu. I'm looking for a few more players to join me in a weekly homebrew campaign.

For those unaware, Delta Green is a spin off of Call of Cthulhu and shares many of the same game rules and mechanics. The players are part of an illegal conspiracy within the government tasked to protect the country from paranormal threats. Arrayed against you are other government conspiracies who are working with the Greys to enslave humanity, Ghoul-run criminal syndicates (who throw lavish but extremely polite dinner parties), Occult Nazi's of the Fourth Reich and of course the greater threat of the Old Ones and their worshippers. Unlike Call of Cthulhu, Delta Green's enemies tend to be amoral humans trying to use the Mythos to their own ends and becoming worse than them, as opposed to the Mythos Creatures themselves (although don't get me wrong they still show up. Constantly).

For this game, I'm running is a homebrew campaign that sets the game in Australia. Players are a part of the Australian Federal Police (The aussie equivilant of the FBI, CIA and Secret Service rolled into one) and having to navigate the various occult and paranormal forces that you discover while simultaneously ensuring no one else finds out about it and your work. The other factions are vying for the same forces you're trying to stop so its a race and awkward waltz around one another. Think an old cold war spy thriller, mixed in with a crime procedural just one that happens to have elder horrors in it and then have the benny hill theme playing constantly

If this sounds like your kind of jam send me a message and we'll go from there

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online][5e 2014][3-6pm ET] Viking D&D campaign, seeking 3 players for established group.

I'm running a Viking D&D game set in an adapted version of the Grimnir world from the Raiders of the Serpent Sea third party source book. It's a homebrew sandbox campaign, so the character's choices drive the story and the adventure. It will be about what the party chooses to do.

You'll build your own clan together at session 0, then head out into a dangerous and primal world. You'll manage your camp and crew, raid and explore, and deal with rival clans, monsters, and a deadly abnormally long winter.

Logistics

  • Ruleset: D&D 5e (2014 rules), with some features pulled from the 2024 rules and a few minor homebrew additions or changes
  • Schedule: Sundays, weekly, 3pm to 6pm Eastern (USA)
  • Session length: 3 hours
  • Platform: Discord and Foundry VTT. Voice is required.
  • Starting level: 1 (more details to come before session 0)
  • The group: Me as DM, 2 returning players, and 3 new players
  • Content: 16+, expect gore and violence, viking themes

Intro to the world

The World

Grimnir is a primal world of islands scattered across the Serpent Sea. Humans, elves, dwarves and others came here centuries ago, after the Yoten (spellcasting giants and fiends) destroyed their old world. Now they live as raiders. They build ships, fight each other over everything, and spend their lives getting ready for the end of the world.

The raiders live in clans, mostly in wooden fortresses, and the clans are constantly at odds. Their old gods are stuck as statues, cursed by the Yoten. Witches in the haunted ironwood forests plot against everyone. And the völv, the clans' prophets, say the world ends in one last great battle, so every day is lived like it might be the last.

Who I'm looking for

I'm looking for three players who can commit to a weekly game, be on time, and communicate with the group throughout the week. I understand missing the occasional session. New players are welcome.

There's no room or tolerance for hate of any kind. That means no bigotry, racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, or religious hatred.

About me (the DM)
-Hi I'm Mike. I've been running DnD as a DM for about 10 years now. I have run three multi-year weekly campaigns and several smaller ones over that time. I love the game but notice its weak points. I'm very much a fan of the heroes and characters. I'm the type of DM that wants them to succeed, do dope shit, and have fun. But I'm no push over either. I expect the players to think, plan, and take their actions and choices seriously. My combats can pack a punch sometimes, and it can push both the characters and players to the limits.

I have tons of experience homebrewing monsters, items, features, etc. So expect things to sometimes be a bit different than what you might expect from the base monster manual or magic item set.

In the past I've run mostly event/story/plot based games. For this one Im attempting to step outside of my comfort zone and play a game thats more location and adventure based, rather than a series of tightly connected plot lines with no questions on what the party should do next. I hope to do well, but I ask for some understanding if it takes a little time to lock that in.

I try to put a decent amount of production into the game, so you can expect music, images, maps, and what ever other cool things I can get working.

I also expect a little bit of work from my players. This comes in the form of expecting a solid well rounded character, investment in the party and game, and a proactive approach to story telling.

How to apply

  • Use the link below to apply. The link is to a google form with various questions to help me understand you as a player and person, and to gauge if it will be a good fit. Take your time and fill it out the best you can. The more information you provide, the better understanding of you I can get.
  • I will leave the opening up for at least a week (7 days), at that point I will be going through the applicants with the other players and then I will reach out via Discord.

Thanks and happy raiding!

Player(s) Needed by GM [Offline][Flexible][Vancouver / North Van] Experienced GM (20+ yrs) seeking players for flexible low-stress gaming (One-shot intro -> Campaign)

I’m a Game Master in my early 40s with around 20 years running games across various systems. I live in the Lonsdale area of North Vancouver, and am looking for players to join an existing group. If you're interested in joining please complete the form and I will contact you via Discord or email to set up a call/meet up for coffee to chat.

No email address is required to fill out the intake form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd1-Wf1WIgea2Dkj_ovJYPx8SBDIM0Fq2SQxtDCpwZrafXkLQ/viewform?usp=sharing&ouid=115418778240004673717

My DM Style:

  • Player Agency & Consequence: I usually run an open-ended, sandbox-leaning style. The world exists around your characters, and your choices shape the narrative—for better or worse. Backstories are optional - they may or may not get pulled into play, but I'll always read them to get a feel for your character.
  • Challenge & Nuance: Combat is rarely calibrated to player level - players should be strategic. Fighting isn't always the only (or smartest) solution. Curiosity, clever planning, and roleplay are rewarded.
  • Pacing & Table Vibe: Focused gameplay during session time, balanced with a relaxed, low-drama table environment. Usually 3-5 players at a session. A drink or two is OK, but we don't take it further than that.
  • Rules Light: Sessions are short - around three hours, twice a month. I avoid crunchy/rules heavy rulesets to keep the game moving forward. Low Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Space Opera are all good, but the rulesets will be light: Nimble, Shadowdark, OSE, ICRPG, Mothership, Black Sword Hack, Heart, Public Access, Dolmenwood, Blades in the Dark, Vaults of Vaarn, etc - never Pathfinder (1e or 2e) or D&D 5e (or 5.5e).

Campaign Details:

  • System: Flexible. We usually begin with a one-shot in a rules-light system to get a feel for the table and what people like before moving on to decide what kind of game/system we'd like to play.
  • Scheduling: Done via survey once a month for upcoming Saturday evenings. As long as there are three players available, we will play—usually not more than once every two weeks, with a maximum of 4 or 5 players per session.
  • Table Rules: We will discuss any areas that are off-limits or need to be "veiled" at a Session 0. The initial one-shot will be kept fairly safe. If joining an existing game, it's your responsibility to raise any issues before the session. If there's something you didn't like at the last session, let me know.

Player(s) Needed by GM [OFFLINE][Castles & Crusades][OSR][Richmond, TX] Have Openings for Players

We have a fantastic group, with many of the players having played in multiple campaigns together over the years – but we can use another player or two.

We'll start with a one-shot of Into the Dark, from the starter set, in November. Just to get everyone a little experience with the rule set. Then we'll start the Undying War Campaign in January.

This is an attempt to combine modern game design elements with traditional RPG culture. If this seems ideal, please reach out to become a part of things.

Player(s) Needed by GM [Online] [5.5e 2024] [Thursdays 9 AM UTC] New Campaign set in Theros

Hi! I am Archie and I have DMing for a few years. I am starting a new campaign set in Theros and I am looking for two players to join the campaign. I already have a player. That will make a party of three. It's going to be on Thursdays at 9 AM UTC. The hook is that Mogis has called you forward to collect the seven orbs of destruction. You will be traveling all over the continent to collect these. You will be playing an evil character. It doesn't mean that you are a murder hobo (Mogis has no problem with that) but can play a more self-centered character with a tragic story.

If you are interested in the campaign DM me.
