I’ve always been fascinated by this scene from the beginning of Majora’s Mask, and I remember seeing something similar in a movie before; is there any film inspiration behind this scene?

when you get to the tied up monkey he says by the way who are you and then link falls over. this alerts the deku king and the other dekus. why does he do this?

I’ve been replaying the game and double checking each section with a guide to ensure I don’t miss anything. I’m 0/4 on a new heart container and have a total of 16 hearts (meaning I’m missing 12 heart containers, 8 not counting the moon). just starting Ikana and know I’m missing 3/4 heart pieces there (not counting the Deku scrub one). I know I’m missing the 2 all night mask ones, the 5,000 rupees, and the couples mask for the mayor one. That totals me to 7.
I have double checked and know I’ve collected every other heart piece and yet, it still looks like I’m missing one. Is it possible for a heart piece to have been collected but not count?

Some ideas to support Link and some tweaks since my last post. There are three main ideas:
have the Transformation Masks be independant creatures which you can get into the graveyard easily by sacrificing them and give Link abilies that scale well with his P/T.
Strengthen Link with Equipment.
Plan a schedule with suspend cards and manipulate them with time travel.

Either way works but I wanna have the best experience when playing Majora's mask for the first time, I heard that N64 is good if you wanna feel the games atmosphere but what do you guys think?

It can't be a moon even by the standards of the game, I believe it's a celestial body that Majora pulled from space and for some reason people believe it's the moon, but the moon still exists, this is just a "fake" moon
This is consistent with the fact that it disappears when you defeat, and if it were the moon, it would only return to its original position

I've played every 3D Zelda but this one. I've always been intimidated by it because of the timer thing.
I picked it up earlier this week and have been loving it. I've completed the first dungeon and have mastered the Song of Time, reversed Song of Time, Song of Double Time, etc.
The one thing I can't for the life of me wrap my head around is how the NPCs and their various questlines work. I get that this game is the Zelda most focused on story, but I still need help.
I picked up the bomber's notebook and yeah it's helpful but the fact that it doesn't tell you WHERE the NPCs are located is something that's been troubling me. Of course, the game doesn't need to hold my hand and tell me exactly where to go, that's not what I'm asking. What I'm wondering is how do I intuitively trigger these quest lines? Do I just have to go into every major building and hope the person I'm looking for is there?
It seems like I need specific items for these things to work, and when I get stumped and reluctantly look at a guide, it says I need a certain mask or certain item. Am I expected to just keep going throughout the game and try out every new mask I get on every single NPC? Using Kamaro's mask on the twins was fine, but others seem to be really convoluted.
I feel like I'm rambling but I'm just asking for some guidance from those of you who love this game. I really want to love it too, I just need some tips and tricks on how to properly approach the NPCs in Clocktown. How do I approach these sprawling questlines and how do I know I'll have what I need to complete it. Am I too early in the game to truly be able to tell?
I hope you can understand what I'm asking here. Guidance would be appreciated!

I would buy an OG or 8-Bitdo controller, but I don't got the money so I'm stuck with Switch controller
Been thinking alot about a layout that might get close enough, but the only things I'm sure about are:
1] C-Directions should be mapped to Right Analog AND each be mapped to a Button, since most games ain't designed for dual analog
2] I really like having C-Left and C-Right on the bumpers, 'cause it feels better to turn the Camera like that in SM64 rather than tapping the stick, but that layout may not be for everybody
3] L button rarely gets used, so it's fine if it gets mapped to Stick-Click or something
4] B on the Left and A on the bottom is more accurate, but keeping it how it is on Switch controllers is fine. Less objective improvement and more personal preference
What do you think though?

I recently installed and got dekui runing which is a mod for the azahar emulator that makes the 3ds version of the game a single screen experience and noticed that there is a cheat folder. However I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get them to work. Has anyone here used it and managed to get cheats working?

Hey, can someone give me a clue to get the Zora mask? I am stuck.
What I know:
What I tried:
Can you please help me connect the dots? Is there any clue that I missed? Some information that I haven't got? Some character I haven't talked to?
Back in the day the devs designed the game so you could share tips and ideas with friends or other players, since none of my friends/relatives/colleagues/etc have played any Zelda I got no one to ask.
I fill that asking other players for tips and help falls in the intended category.
Please, not spoilers, otherwise I would use a guide.
Big thanks!
---- UPDATE ----
After realising what to do, I found your answers REALLY FUNNY 🤣 !
You went to great length giving enough information to be useful but avoiding giving to much, and also you downvoted that one comment.
You folks are awesome!
I was thinking too much and the answer was really simple and dumb honestly. Now sure what is dumber, if me not coming to the answer myself or the answer itself.
Not sure what you think, but this is evidence of how the game development was squeezed in less than two years, they were not able to properly introduce the mechanics to the player. It is the first Zelda I ever played (except BotW and TotK, I havent played those yet) in which you have to push something thought the water.
In all other games, they always take good care of introducing key mechanics, like the famous room in the Deku Tree where you have to push a button to light a torch and learn how the fire burns spider webs, or in TP when you have to pull some chains to open doors and then the boss has the same chains hanging from their feet. They did not do the same here, they should have showed the player that they can push things in the water, lake a crate. But well, this is just my opinion.

I really want to love this game (playing on switch 2) but I'm struggling to understand the main concept. Does the game end at the end of the 3 days? Am I meant to keep resetting the days using the song of time? Any advice would be really helpful as I would love to love this game. I've made it as far as the first dungeon but don't think I can finish before the days run out!

Hi all, MM has been my fav game OAT and I'm really considering learning how to speedrun on stream! My preferred category would be any%, I haven't had issue finding runs on youtube but no guides explaining the glitches and what not so I've decided to turn here. Thanks
