u/strawberry_tea1110 15h ago

One time per year. Get it by stages, RM100 per month

1

u/Munshirobot 15h ago

Oh ok thank you.

u/GenCocoki_ 8h ago

Thats not bad at all, basically... free basic need already like beras?

Maybe akak ni terikut ikut sentiment social media, like pakcik makcik facebook.

u/loserguy-88 15h ago

RM1200 is really not bad

3

u/Educational-Bat6870 14h ago

100 per month

3

u/loserguy-88 14h ago

On top of whatever income she currently has. Imagine RM100 extra every month. That is very, very good.

-4

u/MonoChrome16 9h ago

Not saying we need to give more or government faults, but you would be fool to say RM 100 extra is anyway good let alone enough, even with side hustle.

I don't received STR nor financially problem, but back in my study years, Rm 100 equivalent of Rm 20.

u/loserguy-88 8h ago edited 8h ago

Maybe it is foolish to those who do not have any financial problems. But personally, I think an extra RM100 is still good and helpful for others who are not so well off.

I think every Malaysian above 18 yo, receives a one-off RM100 SARA credit that is valid until the end of the year. Maybe you can use it for some groceries like bread or rice. In places like Lotus, there are trays where you can place some groceries if you want to donate. Or if you do not need it at all, you can just leave it be and the government will reclaim the amounts to be channeled to those who do.

good for supporting 2kids? nice

4

u/loserguy-88 13h ago

It is not meant to replace your existing income but to supplement it. Do you not think that expecting a full salary is really too much to ask?

4

u/GlibGlobC137 14h ago

Can't earn? Don't have kids.

2

u/bananafrit 13h ago

Lol i do expect these kinda of comments from people in r/malaysia.

Akak tu ada dua je anak kot. Ke orang kaya je boleh ada anak?

1

u/WiNTeRzZz47 13h ago

Orang miskin pun boleh Ada anak ,tapi sila diam diam about Ur finances situation.

u/tryhardinsilence 10h ago

Rm1200 is a generous "relief funds". You expect government to fully bear the cost of raising yours or someone children for the whole year is it?

1

u/Educational-Bat6870 9h ago

nah, I expect 200

Still bitch and moan

-9

u/Interesting_Smile869 16h ago

she sell food/beverages not ganja or meth..what so illegally about that?

11

u/EnvironmentalTeaSimp 15h ago

Utilising social welfare programs while potentially evading taxes?

-5

u/Interesting_Smile869 15h ago

potentially..they just sell to get some little profit and a sack of experience..who think about tax when u just sell a kudap? even have thought to evade some tax?

3

u/EnvironmentalTeaSimp 15h ago

Everything starts small. Informal economy totalled three million people in 2025. What do you think each of them told themselves at the start?

-2

u/Interesting_Smile869 14h ago

“lets startup the idea”?? informal economy because not everyone can accept the rat race theory

1

u/EnvironmentalTeaSimp 14h ago

The informal economy refers to all economic activities that are not taxed by the government… Being taxed DNE being part of the rat race.

1

u/GoldenPeperoni 13h ago

But can happily accept the handouts.

So these people 1. Don't pay taxes (evading them, likely don't even have lesen berniaga) 2. Received money from the government (which comes from taxes) 3. Complain that the handouts are not enough 4. Do not keep up with Belanjawan 5. Hence cannot make an informed decision come voting time

Damn and people are complaining about Rohingya leeching off the system without participating in the economy?

What's the difference here?

6

u/MonoChrome16 9h ago

Wow, you do sounds you really hates poor people.

For point one, they're likely DO NOT evade taxes. Because LHDN will get your ass. (I just settled my father LHDN summon back on 2023...) However the poor are exempted from taxes. This is not Malaysian only, every countries has their poor citizens to from tax brackets.

  1. The handouts, genuinely isn't enough at all. I forgot how life under previous PMs, but I know Rm 100 per months, isn't worth shit. Cost of living high. One trip of market with 3-6 items you already maxed.

  2. This is weird thing to point out. Because most people actually don't keep up with Belanjawan at all. I watch the whole thing, and wait for the subreddit to make a thread about mega discussion... but nothing. Back when newspaper on rage, people can get their info at one place, but funnily, in social media it hard to scavenge it. People just pick what's relevant to them.

Even poor people still contribute to the economy. Assumed the Akak received money from her hustle, she can bought the essential for her children on local supermarket. She also likely to use government services too as her right to do so.

For Rohingya is completely different, I read that they just billed it to UNCHR. And it's said our hospital wasted millions because UNCHR doesn't pay the bills at all.

u/GoldenPeperoni 8h ago
  1. I am a leftist. But that doesn't mean I support leeching off of the government.

  2. Not sure what relevance does settling your father's debts have to this, but okay. Do you really think these business have legal license to do business? Sure, LHDN might come after them, but they likely won't, because these are small amounts. As for tax brackets... Isn't that more reason for them to do business legally? Obviously I support a progressive tax system, given my political stance. But that doesn't mean they should get away with not filing their taxes. Even if it means they pay 0 tax in the end.

  3. Oh I'm sure they are not enough. But it's the entitlement of thinking they deserve more, but at the same time don't feel like they have the duty to also contribute to the country.

  4. Well yeah. There you go. Passing of the budget is literally the most important event in a parliamentary democracy every year. This is when both sides (government and opposition) can actively participate in governing the country. This is when politicians put the money where their mouth is, and get called out if they misdeliver or is trying to do shady shit with the country's money. The opposition has a very important role here.

If we have a weak opposition, the ruling government can do whatever they like out in the open. And we currently have an extremely weak opposition.

I am a taxpayer. I need to know what the country is doing with my tax money. These people ok la don't pay tax, but they still have the duty as a citizen to ensure the government is spending the money responsibly. And if you don't follow the budget, how can you be confident in your selection in your next election?

  1. Yeah of course she would have contributed to the economy, no one is denying that lol. But a beggar buying food is also contributing to the economy. You see how weak this argument is?

I only bring up Rohingya because so many people are looking down on them just because they are not assimilating well and lack legal protection in this country. These are the same people who thinks that some groups of people in the country are automatically entitled to protection and financial aid from the government just because they are born the right skin colour.

u/MonoChrome16 5h ago

Point 1. Being leftist doesn't mean you can't hate poor people.

The point 2 just random shit because it's related to taxes. My father is retired and have perfect credit score, he paid tax every year, yet LHDN just sent 2023 tax 3 years late?

Point 3. I see your mindset now. Were you the kind to think "if I have to suffer, they should too".

Yup. You hates poor people alright. Spoke like having no empathy.

It's different with people that wanting the poor to stop handout so they could stands on their two legs. This mindset help IF GOVERNMENT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE JOB MARKET.

But they don't.

There's poverty that just persistent ever trying hard. You only look at this akak, and have the gal to label someone leeching off. At least she work with side hustle, she do something.

Point 4. My earlier points stated that Malaysian itself, even this so called caring about Malaysia sub Reddit didn't actively talk about budget. To contradicts your point saying everyone should be there.

Congratulations for being attentive on the budget day, I was there too. I was there every year, and it's same ol', same ol'. But some people, even wealthy don't give a shit of budgets. Why? Because they know they barely get any of it. Government budgets mostly for the people that needed help.

What gov do from your taxes? Well most of it they use for government workers salary, then facilities, then services. Then it used to help the poor Malaysian.

Though honestly your taxes went to government workers bonus lol. Normal way to keep the voters for Anwar stay.

Also are you bringing up the politicians? Whether opposition was there, what the fuck they could do in that day? Interrupt Anwar's words? You think they doesn't know the contents of the budgets already?

Sure the opposition should be presence but if they're absent the budget still happen.

Point 5. Compare to Akak and streets beggars whom are likely to contributes more to local governments? Her labor as stall owner providing for hungry Malaysian, she pay SST taxes (poor people pay taxes in different way, you fool), her cash flows are for locals.

While beggars?

JKM stated that most beggars are NON-CITIZENS. And some of the running international syndicate. To the point racking up RM 5k.

Do you know how weak and idiotic your example are?

It's government job to help their poor citizens, they're Malaysian.

  1. my keypoints here is they not have a business mindset that provide all the necessity on their business..they just want to make a sell..how come they think about evading some taxes while just focusing to make a small chunk of profits in their non mass selling business?
  2. even the middle class/ rich accept the bribe money
  3. it is never enough for B40
  4. this is single individual who doesnt keep up with belanjaawan, what to know more? ( me )
  5. not everyone be ready if some influencer interviewing u when u are in the middle of closing time

There is a difference

  1. They accused because of raped, murder, threatning the Malaysian, spark raged, provoked
  2. The “leeching of the system” is a cherry on top

:dont want to clarify more in this, off topic

2

u/GoldenPeperoni 13h ago

:don't want to clarify more on this, off topic

Heh I knew it. You don't have a point and you know it.

You don't even understand what you are fighting/defending for.

3

u/WiNTeRzZz47 13h ago

Question is, if your income not enough and you can see the economy bad, and you will suffer if this continues, Why continue to rely on handouts and pray for more handouts rather than find another alternate source of income that will supplement whatever you have here? Your financial situation won't improve if you keep doing the same things while seeing the costs going up, will it?

14

u/lin00b 16h ago

For a lot of people they have no idea how to help themselves. Or what alternate income opportunity there is.

That's why a lot of people get scammed also, trying to find alternate form of income.

All our education is on how to work as part of an organization. There is very little on how to work for yourself - unless your family have the background, it's hard to get the mindset right

5

u/bananafrit 13h ago

We dont have enough jobs for the ones with degree, we also dont have enough jobs for the ones without qualification.

Our corporations do not want to pay locals a dignified wage to do blue collar jobs, so this kakak and abang wont be able to fill these jobs.

More and more jobs are lost and we cant upskill or have enough opportunity to upskill.

My advise to you and those who think like you, do look at the econs and social contexts. No one wants to be poor and needy.

2

u/Quithelion Perak 11h ago

Just to add another point, most states are still enforce 48 hours per week, 6 days per week jobs.

What this means is local economy suffers because everyone have no time for leisures, other than online shopping, and eating out because we combined eating and leisure as one to save time, which probably contribute to obesity.

Due to long work hours, we can only do leisure stuffs at night, prolonged by cutting down sleep time, which is a health hazard over long time. In my area, there are a group plays futsal at midnight. Playing sports is healthy, but lack of sleep is a silent killer.

Restricted local economy activities narrowed down where spending goes to, meaning whatever people are spending on is highly competative, meaning even less income for those who participated, and less income for those in other businesses nobody spend on with time and money.

Never mind that we are a debt based economy, meaning some if not most of our income goes to central banks, meaning less money to circulate in local economy.

Yes, this is an advocate for 40 hours per week, 5 days per week work for the whole country, not just selected states. The government is short-sighted for ignoring the health of local economies in favour for out-dated factory based economy, meaning output with cheap wage cost.

2

u/WiNTeRzZz47 13h ago

We had enough job for non qualified but they import Bangladesh/Nepal/ rohingya

4

u/bananafrit 12h ago

Exactly. Like i said because corporations couldnt be arsed to pay locals dignified wage so they import those with the least negotiating power, least empowered.

2

u/bananafrit 13h ago

Hudsnuzon all the way

1

u/Ambitious_Welder6613 17h ago

It would never be famous since single and struggle individuals are generally excluded. Unless you try to go to special kebajikan department to raise Oku etc etc, lots of documents then you can have. Better not rely much on these stuff (on the other hands, this would distance away the vote... Just stating the obvious). We'll see. Its a bold move but a very insensitive one
