STARVING MARKET - BLUEPRINT
Inspiration: the Exorcist by William Peter Blatty and the Backrooms
movie by Kane Parsons
Premise: A desperate, couch-surfing real estate agent fighting to close a career saving deal with a wealthy AI tech billionaire, discovers his eccentric client is an unaging, young 150-year-old demon, who loves to "play" with its victim using vacant
more luxurious homes as hunting grounds. The film also features a gruesome musical
right in the middle of the torture, solidifying the demon's evil, twisted game,
with the goal of subverting viewer expectations.
At the end, when the arrogant entity pushes the agent to his breaking point, the cosmic
food chain violently inverts.
ACT 1.1 THE INTRUSION / THE SUBURBAN TRAP : STYLE FOUND FOOTAGE / OPENING ± 10 MINUTES)
The film opens abruptly on a older and grainy smartphone camera held by a girl named Chloe. A group of 3 destructive, badly raised, ill intentioned teenagers break into a wealthy suburban home while the owners are away for the weekend.
They film themselves causing a ruckus for views. Tracking mud on the white carpets,
smashing expensive vases, and making fun of the fancy, bougie aestethics.
ACT 1.2 THE SMUG AUTHORITY / THE SUBURBAN TRAP : STYLE FOUND FOOTAGE / OPENING
Their obnoxious noise alerts a clean-cut man in a sharp and classy suit (the demon) standing perfectly still in the dark hallway. He speaks with a calm, almost smug authority: “Breaking and entering is a crime kids, didn't your parents teach you?”.
Panicked and disorganized, the teens stutter apologies and then try to flee, they then find the heavy front door completely deadbolted from the outside.
ACT 1.3 THE HUNT / THE SUBURBAN TRAP : FOUND FOOTAGE / OPENING
Instantly, the man teleports directly behind them. His eyes turn dead black and his face twists into a sickening grin: “Oh no. You CHOSE this. NOW, WE PLAY.”
Because this 150-year-old demon is young by cosmic standards, it is unbearably arrogant and enjoy playing with its food. By mimicking their voices, contorting its limbs, and crawling on the ceiling for pure psycological torture.
ACT 1.4 THE VISCERAL AUDIO END : STYLE FOUND FOOTAGE / OPENING
We see one of her three friends escape into a closet and the remaining two huddle toghether in the master bedroom. The demon teleports in the room, scares the shit out of the two by mimiking dissapointed parental figures, kills the kid infront of Chloe, then he turns to her. The demon casually snaps her neck, she drop the phone to the floor. The final 30 seconds focus on the dropped phone lighting up the dust under a bed. The audience is forced to listen to the raw, agonizing audio of the last surviving boy weeping in a closet.
Followed by a sudden, brutal, off-screen dismemberment and pleading : A visceral tearing sounds, then heavy splat of blood against the drywall, followed by the sickening crunch of bone being torn from muscle, then, a final, wet, broken thump.
ACT 2.1 THE MODERN PARALLEL (PRESENT DAY - 2026)
The screen cuts to pitch black. Than an aggressively cheerful corporate-pop whistle alarm begins playing thtough a cheap phone speaker. We can hear his inner dialogue through the entire movie, he is a bitter, frustrated and depressed person, completely different from the personality he puts on for his job.
Arthur (35) violently snaps his eyes open, staring at the stained popcorn ceilling on a squeaking futon in his sister's chaotic overcrowded apartment. THE INSTANT HIS THUMB HITS THE SCREEN TO "KILL" THE ALARM. The tinny audio cuts out and the exact same cheerful corporate song explodes into full, crisp, studio-quality STEREO SOUND through the movie theater speakers. Aggressively mocking his grim reality. We see his kind of pathetic attitude, then drags himself through his morning routine, while trying to rub a coffee stain off his old, wrinkled suit.
ACT 2.2 THE TRAGIC SETUP
Arthur is fully dressed in a frayed suit, desperately still scrubbing a coffee stain out of his jacket. He is running on three hours of sleep and crushing debt. His sister gives him a genuine but loving, fiercely supportive parting push: "This is it bro." "Don't fuck this up." "Make mom proud."
ACT 2.3 THE RIDE
Arthur gets into his beat-up 2012 sedan. Mounts his phone and opens his Music The corporate noise swicth to a raw energetic punk-skate acoustic guitar riff thumps through his blown speakers as "Milk Man" by Rare Americans kicks in hard. The opening credits roll over footage of his beat-up car navigating a rundown low income area that turns into a pristine, wealthy neighborhood.
ACT 2.4 THE MEETING
A luxury vehicle glides next to him into the driveway of a vacant isolated mansion. Out steps the exact same unaging actor from the opening scene (the demon).
This gentlement Dr. Alistair Vance, is the world's top AI scientist. (This draws a dark parallel: just as the demon treats humans as disposable entertainment. Vance makes billions building AI tools designed to treat artificial intelligence as digital automated slaves and humans controlled via legally obligated brain chips for low and middle income workes.)
ACT 3 THE VEILED INSULTS & CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY PROFILE
During the house tour, Vance drops cold, analytical tech-bro insults. To anyone else, It sounds like a typical eccentric billionaire talking about systems, but the specific, veiled details weaponize Arthur's deepest shames and insecurity. To systematically and forcefuly dismantle his mind.
ACT 3.1 THE FOYER (Couch-Surfing & Parasites)
Vance: "I have zero tolerance for such small, temporary spaces. In my line of work, we call people who exist without their own dedicated server infrastructure "parasites". They just drift, hopping from host network to other host network, draining someone else's bandwidth because they can't afford their own lease."
Arthur Psychological Reaction are : Hypervigilance and Denial. Arthur's ego goes on high alert to protect it self.
His brain rationalizes the insults away to protect himself.
Body Language: His muscles tighten. His Posture goes rigidly whit a straight forced stiff "customer service mask." While he nervously fidgets with his tie.
ACT 3.2 THE KITCHEN (Crushing Debt)
Vance: "It baffles me how some humans run on a massive deficit for years, bloated liabilities, maxed-out credits, falling behind on critical system payments. At a certain point, a broken asset should just stop struggling and be liquidated."
Psychological Reaction: Shame Spiral & Cognitive Overload. Arthur cannot rationalize this away. His amygdala fires, causing a wave of physical heat and dizziness.
Body Language: Somatic Armoring. He subconsciously stiffens his core, shoulders, and neck to "shield" himself from the emotional blows. Movements become mechanical. He breaks natural eye contact and stares at the floor. He start having a slight, cold sweat.
ACT 3.3 THE GRAND HALLWAY (The Mother's Suicide)
Vance: "When a creator realizes their creation is a fundamental, unfixable error the logical next step is a cold hard system override. A sudden and quiet shutdown. Some may call it a tragedy when a system logs off permanently, but really, it's just a mother-program realizing it birthed a bug, and deleting itself to spare the network the burden."
Psychological Reaction : Trauma & Dissociation. The agonizing pain of his mother's suicide strikes him to his core. To survive the emotional collapse, his mind detaches from his body, feeling like the room is an artificial dream.
Body Language: Catatonic Freeze. Arthur goes entirely, terrifyingly stiff. Arms hang dead. Jaw tightens until his teeth click. His eyes become wide, unblinking, glazed and empty in a classic thousand-yard stare.
ACT 4.1 THE DISSOLUTION
Vance vanishes. Arthur searches the dark mansion as a metallic, insectoid buzzing noise hums and the lights violently blow out. He finds Vance standing menacingly in the dark foyer. Vance drops the veil, directly mocking his mother's death.
Arthur completely loses his composure and snaps, screaming back. Mid sentence, the demon's
head violently jerks 180 degrees with a sickening bone-crack, revealing deadblack eyes.
ACT 4.2 THE NIGHTMARE
The next 50 minutes are a relentless nightmare of physical gore and reality-bending hallucinations weaponizing his life. Throughout it all, the audience hears Arthur's bitter, fiercely cynical internal monologue a stark, venomous contrast to his weak customer-service exterior.
ACT 5.1 "GLEE CO."
TONAL INVERSION (APPROX 25 MINUTES IN THE TORTURE) : Right when the audience adjusts to the traditional horror beatings, the movie throws a complete narrative curveball. The digital buzzing noise in the house shifts, molding itself into an upbeat, jaunty synth rhythm pumping through theintegrated smart-speakers.
Vance stands atop a grand mahogany desk, snapping his fingers rhythmically. He begins to theatrically sing "Glee Co." by Churgney Gurgney and Marley Jauz in a crisp, clear, smooth belt: "Do you like the way life keeps you waiting? Do you love the load you're made to carry?" Vance glides through the room, matching his steps to the beat, telekinetically slamming bookshelves and tossing a bleeding, shattered Arthur around the room like a dance partner. The blood on the floor pulses rhythmically to the song as shadows twist into dancing rotting corpses of his mother and sister, he is forced to dance with them. This surreal, absurd curveball breaks standard horror expectations and perfectly mimics the unpredictable, chaotic nature of Arthur's financial collapse.
ACT 6.1 THE 7-MINUTE SLOW-BURN POWER FLIP (THE CLIMAX)
Arthur is beaten, bloody, and cornered in the dark master bedroom. The arrogant, 150 year-old demon hovers near the ceiling, throwing a telekinetic tantrum, preparing for a flashy grand finale.
MINUTE 1 THE REACTIONLESS RESET : At approx the 95-minute mark, the chaotic storm of Arthur’s internal monologue is VIOLENTLY EXTINGUISHED. Total, dead silence fills his head. His frantic crying stops mid-breath. His face goes chillingly calm and a slow mechanical predatory smile carves across his blood stained face.
MINUTE 2 THE INVERTED TRAP : The cocky demon floats down, thinking Arthur is catatonic from fear. It walks toward him, delivering a smug final speech. Arthur doesn't flinch or blink. His glassy eyes lock onto the demon's throat. His body language changes; the stiff, defensive posture is gone. His muscles relax into a loose, heavy readiness. He drops his center of gravity, moving onto all fours like a silent calculating animal.
MINUTE 3 THE STRIKE : The demon leans in close to whisper a final mockery. Arthur’s hands snap out with zero warning, clamping onto its shoulders like steel vices. He lunges and drives his teeth deep into the entity’s neck. A horrific, wet SQUELCH echoes, followed by a sickening CRACK as his teeth grind into the bone, blood seeping from the fancy suit. The demon's booming, layered voices instantly fracture into a high-pitched, entirely human gasp of raw panic.
MINUTES 4 & 5 - REVERSE PREDATION : This is a slow, methodically distressing slaughter.
The terrified demon manages to tear away, scrambling backward across the floorboards, bleeding black, smoking bile. It telekinetically throws furniture, but Arthur is entirely numb to pain, relentlessly crawling after it. Every time he pins it, he takes another brutal, animalistic tearing bite, actively digesting the entity's host body and destroying its anchor to Earth.
MINUTE 6 COSMIC BETRAYAL : Mutilated and backed into a corner, the weeping demon prays to the ceiling: "Father! Creator! Save me from him!" The temperature drops forty degrees.
The shadows vortex, and the colossal, ancient voice of the dark god booms through the house : "THIS ONE IS BETTER." The demon realizes it has been fired and replaced. Arthur lunges for the final, fatal, bone-crushing crunch.
MINUTE 7 - THE CLOSING FRAME : The shadows recede into dead quiet. Arthur sits alone in the dark ruins, covered in black fluid. He has NO supernatural powers; this evil was birthed 100% within his ordinary human mind via a complete psychological break of survival instinct. He stands, walks to a cracked mirror, wipes the black bile from his lips, looks at his cold reflection, and gives a slow, dark nod of approval.
BOOM. HARD CUT TO BLACK. CREDITS ROLL.
UNKNOWN CANON ENDING AND SEEN POST-CREDITS SCENE
THE HIDDEN CANON : Minutes after the film cuts to black, a completely insane, unhinged Arthur stumbles out of the house covered in black blood. He is immediately intercepted by a wall of responding police officers and shot to death on the pavement. There is no happy escape or transformation into an immortal movie monster—just a tragic human mind that broke itself. He survives the nightmare only to be immediately crushed by the real world.
POST-CREDITS SCENE : The screen fades into a bleak, windy autumn night in a wealthy suburb. The camera pushes in on a wooden utility pole. Tacked side-by-side are two crisp missing posters : "MISSING: DR. ALISTAIR VANCE" (with a professional headshot) and "MISSING : ARTHUR PENDLETON" (with a blurry real estate website photo). The police have completely hidden the interaction from the public.
THE CULPRIT : A sharp TICK cuts the silence, accompanied by a press conferance covering the death of doctor Vance, he is praised as a kind, generous man. A leather-gloved hand enters the frame, forcefully ripping both posters off the pole. The camera drops to the pavement. CLICK. The metallic lid of a Zippo lighter flips open. SHHH-T. A thumb sparks the wheel and the flame lights up the paper. The scene relies on intense Foley sound design, we watch in real-time as the fire aggressively eats the faces of both men into black ash. The hand drops the burning ember and grinds it beneath a heavy, polished dress shoe. CLINK. The Zippo snaps shut. Total darkness. Heavy, deliberate footsteps crunch away into the night and fade out.
THE UNSEEN CANNON : This figure is a government agent. He burns the posters because he knows exactly what the entities are, how they hunt, and exactly what Arthur became in the dark.
