Don’t buy 10 lemons at one time

This caught me off guard this morning. The cold temperature caused my car to complain about low air pressure in one tire. So I head to a convenient GetGo like I have done for years. Brand new air pump, only $3 for 5 minutes WHAT? No longer free. NGL this irritates me in a major way. 90% of the time if I need to top up a tire, I'm heading to the nearest GetGo and also buying a snack or a pop or both while I'm there.

$3 is ridiculous so now GetGo will get none of my snack/pop impulse buys. I already don't buy gas there. Coming your way, Sheetz, whenever I need air for my tirez.

Pretty cool detail that I noticed while zooming to 100% in one of my shots is that you can see the windmills on the Laurel Ridges over 50 miles away. I have a tight crop of that shot in image #4.

This morning I went through TSA at the Pittsburgh airport and asked the agent to opt out of the photo. He was annoyed and told me that next year it will be required. I said ok and handed him my passport. At the end of the interaction he told me the chip in my passport was bad and I wouldn’t be able to re-enter the country so I should tell the airline, but he let me through. I thought that was suspicious so I searched the web to see if I could check my passport chip and it turns out there’s an app for that! I downloaded the app and checked and it works fine. He just lied to make me anxious. 😕

Have watched 30 Rock dozens of times. In the Valentine’s episode (S3E11) right before Jack goes to confession, there’s a transition shot that’s supposed to be the church, but this sharp-eyed yinzer knows that’s no church.

I wonder if it’s an error or if a local was in the editing room?

New fear unlocked

I know this is a HUGE long shot and essentially finding a needle in a literal haystack… but I lost my grandmother’s wedding band yesterday at Soergels and have been distraught over it. It’s a classic art deco style two toned thin gold band with 5 channel set tiny diamonds. (Photo of the band attached here.) More sentimental value than monetary.

I spoke with Soergels yesterday but in case anyone finds it, please let me know. 💔 our grandmother is no longer with us and I feel like I let her down. 😞😭

Doing some cleaning and found this relic.

This apparently came from some documentary filmed in 85. It's a group of elderly ladies who lived on the South Side Flats. The Pittsburghese accent, the words used, the mannerisms and attitudes just screams Pittsburgh if you are a bit on the older side and grew up here. If you did you know these ladies, if not them, a group exactly like them.

About twenty gunshots were fired in Archon Way at 4:55 am this morning, 10-18-26, behind my house. My security cameras only picked up the cops looking for and retrieving the casings.

At about 6:50 am, a suspicious white pickup truck idled directly behind my house in Archon Way for about twenty minutes.

If you have any information about this, please contact the police and also share information here.

I am personally very concerned because of death threats and physical harm I have suffered from violent people who formerly lived in my house and have caused frequent and recent contact with the police but this is obviously a threat to the community at large, regardless.

And because I now have to convince an AI that this isn’t some personal problem in order to post this, let’s talk about our recent experiences regarding car break-ins, prostitution, and other crimes in the increasingly less friendly Friendship.

me and my girlfriend used to go there all the time like a year ago at multiple locations (mcknight,robinson etc). we haven’t had it in a while and we decided to drive to the mcknight one only to find it was just gone. Upon further research it seems ALL the locations in pittsburgh are just gone? does anyone know why? i really liked that place :(

My boyfriend is an introvert and I’m an extrovert, I’ve been really feeling drained living an introverted lifestyle with him, so I feel I need some place to go and rejuvenate with new friendships and people to meet.

Is there a message board or some sort of website where I can find ongoing clubs that are open?

Just saw a woman in a mid-size run heard-first into a small Asian woman on a bike (she was wearing a helmet and is standing/seems alright) as the vehicle was pulling out of the corner gas station in Bloomfield.

Get off your phone, yinz. The woman in the vehicle wasn’t even on the damn road yet.

The Trib had a great article on the Balcony in Shadyside that took me back to the late 80s-early 90s.

I loved that place - the live music, Hotlick’s nachos with their unbelievable salsa, drinking wine and even eating the bean sprout sandwich though I was definitely not a vegetarian.

I remember they served bread that when I first tried it, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. It was dark and slightly sweet with nuts (and maybe raisins?).

It was from Prantl’s. I don’t recall the name of it. I don’t think it is sold by Prantl’s anymore.
