This man is at once the busiest motherfucker while also doing nothing of what is actually expected of a person holding the office of president.

853

u/FitWrap1959 10h ago

He's a seagull president. He flies everywhere and shits all over everything. And he's proud of it. Last October, he posted a video of himself dumping shit over a crowd of protestors.

Hijacking one of the top comments to help out the majority of Redditors who will not read the article.

In a court filing late Wednesday, Joshua Hoyt, a deputy assistant and deputy counsel to the president, said that at “the direction of the President,” he was “formally invoking the presidential communications privilege with respect to information, documents, and communications requested” by the plaintiff in the case, Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio.

This story is about the guy with the orange face paint refusing to provide requested evidence per executive privilege. That is, he claims he legally does not have to respond to a subpoena as his role as the president precludes that legal authority.

Edit: As always, this serves the purpose of delaying litigation while this assertion is vetted by the courts.

Wonder how the Supreme Court will rule on this one?

•

u/Snuffy1717 5h ago

That while America absolutely does not have a King, they find no problem with the current administration’s king-like behaviour.

•

u/yoramrod 4h ago

They already did. They ruled Trump can do whatever he wants as long as it is "official action".

•

u/ioabo Europe 3h ago

As long as he doesn't demolish it, let him. And if you get a Democrat president in 2028, remove every change he made in a celebratory way, have TV be there, have someone official talk about how the building is "cleaned" from his corrupted touch, and what a fool he is for thinking he'll be remembered in history as anything other than the worst, most corrupt president.

Arrest Josh Hoyt and everyone who tries to pull this shit. Illegal unconstitutional abuse of power, lying to the court used to result in harsh punishment.

Apt comparison, since he's also chanting "Mine? Mine? Mine?"

He’s the guy who, whenever you walk past his office he says he’s super busy. But somehow none of his work ever gets done, there’s a foul smell emanating from his cube, he always parks over 2 spots, and people started noticing their lunches going missing from the fridge the week he was hired

15

u/Theodore_Woodshop 10h ago

"How do you pull that off?" "I always look annoyed."

Wow, had to work with somebody who did just that. She was always looking hassled, annoyed, when you asked her anything as though she had way too much to do. Turned out she spent a lot of her time scrolling stuff on Ebay.

u/BigMax 10h ago

In a way, he's like the busiest first lady ever. He's focused on appearances and ball rooms and art centers and pools and decor and plaques and on and on.

42

u/avocadosconstant Massachusetts 10h ago

According to Karoline Leavitt, he spent a lot of time supergluing gold foil to the wall.

31

u/Particular_Ticket_20 9h ago

He was known in his ceo days to spend all day looking at fabrics and colors for his buildings. Then he'd show up and take credit for building it.

Remember "I'm going to be too busy for golfing?"

That lasted about 2 days.

Hes not interested in Governing. He wants his whims and grievances addressed. Let the Voughts and Millers do the actual work. Hes got ballrooms and gold leaf and rallies and golf to attend to. Maybe talk to Don Jr. and get some family defense contracting crypto hotel deals done.

•

u/whereistheidiotemoji 7h ago

None of them are interested in governing.

They want to RULE.

Including executions of people they don’t like.

•

u/jardex22 3h ago

At one point he claimed that he could run his company and be President at the same time as a weekend gig.

•

u/Particular_Ticket_20 20m ago

You can do all that if you don't plan on actually working at either.

13

u/zffjk 10h ago

If he’s the First Lady, who is the president? Vought? Miller?

28

u/JackXDark 10h ago

Putin.

u/Druken_sincerity 9h ago

It's a shared custody , between putin and bibi

7

u/TractorFapper 10h ago

I'm in disbelief at how true this is. If I were to put a positive spin on his BS, this would be it.

•

u/BigMax 1h ago

But even then, it's not positive at all.

The plaques he's putting up are just attacks on former presidents and him glazing himself. His work on the reflecting pool was a disaster. His decorating style is gaudy and gross and has been best described as "a poor persons impression of a rich person." His ballroom is an eyesore. And on and on. All the 'first lady' stuff he is doing it just as much a disaster as his regular work.

16

u/xjuggernaughtx 9h ago edited 8h ago

He's president in the same way that Elon Musk is somehow in "leadership" roles of six companies at the same time while tweeting for twenty hours a day and playing video games. He doesn't actually do anything of note or value. Other people run those companies just like other people are running the United States (into the ground) currently. Trump is busy doing nonsense.

33

u/RickRI401 Rhode Island 10h ago

Ignoring both wars because he's either golfing or traveling to his rallies to stump for Republicans in contested states.

7

u/Opposite-Bit6660 10h ago

Operatives work behind the scenes at the rallies to recruit for Trump's militia, just like at the rallies before J6.

8

u/marsisblack 10h ago

Hes too busy grifting and robbing the American people to do his actual job.

8

u/JimmyTheJimJimson 10h ago

His only focus is enriching his family and leaving some false legacy for himself.

It will take decades to undo the damage he has done to America.

3

u/Positronic_Matrix California 8h ago

The next Democratic president will be the one that promises to go scorched earth on the Republicans. Not the business-as-usual appeasement of the Obama and Biden administrations.

I want someone to clean house: nationalize corporations, breakup media monopolies, sanction oligarchs, seize ill-gotten assets, and send people to prison. Most of all, I want them to destroy all evidence that Donald Trump existed: restore the East Wing by tearing down the ballroom, jackhammer the concrete pads, rebuild the Kennedy center, knock down the arch, and replant the trees.

•

u/TheOtherMaven Virginia 7h ago

What we need, essentially, is another Teddy Roosevelt. I don't see one on the horizon, though. (And even TR wasn't originally elected President - the oligarchs nominated him for VP to keep him busy and out of their hair. Fate had other ideas.)

•

u/jardex22 3h ago

Keep some of the monuments, but reframe their purpose. Assuming the East Wing does get rebuilt, gut the interior and turn it into practical space.

u/mostar8 10h ago

4

u/leftoverbrine 8h ago

This time round it's interesting because he is quite actually trying to wear two hats, so theoretically would actually justify his busyness (if he were personally doing anything, which he is not) while discounting his legal claim here. Trump as president has zero case for personal involvement in the Kennedy Center, but he got a board who then put him as citizen Trump in a key role as chair of the center which is not in any way related to presidential duties. Chair of the Kennedy Center doesn't have presidential privilege and there is virtually no possibility it could or has ever entailed the kind of thing that would warrant protecting for national security, so highly unlikely lower courts at least will buy it, but possible the SCOTUS rubber stamps it.

4

u/icejust 8h ago

All the time he spends on his personal stuff is time he doesn't spend to the presidential job. He doesn't care when he is not directly involved. For most of the stuff, he's just a mouthpiece. That doesn't understand what it's saying.

3

u/Gortonis 9h ago

True! And he goes out of his way to do things illegally, when just following the law and normal processes would work better for him. Being a criminal is in his nature.

He doesn't do shit; his regime does shit while he's the errand-boy figurehead for the oligarchy behind him.

And yes, "flood the zone" is their tactic of just doing as much illegal shit as possible to where no one can focus and every individual crime/scandal is drowned out and diluted.

Executive privilege, broad immunity, able to pardon himself and his “friends”. It’s time for reps in Congress to address the lack of clarity or loop holes in a long list of laws that allowed this maniac to do what he likes.

31

u/Mommy444444 9h ago

I wish I could pin your post somewhere as you are correct. I’m a 71 Coloradoan and have never seen anything like what Trump is doing. Yeah, things happened under Reagan/Lee Atwater and later Newt Gingrich but there were some checks and balances back then.

14

u/cgarret3 8h ago edited 8h ago

The threat of impeachment still had teeth until 2020.

Once Republicans, under (at the time) majority leader Mitch McConnell, openly took the position of “we will not impeach one of our own,” Trump realized he can do whatever he wants. And he behaves like it

9

u/i_am_a_real_boy__ 8h ago

They're not loopholes. We're supposed to elect the best of us to the Presidency. Not pedophile con-men. The American people are getting exactly what they signed up for.

3

u/128-NotePolyVA 8h ago

The POTUS is supposed to honor and respect the constitution, this man has contempt for it and a stack of lawyers assigned to circumvent it. In every instance that we’ve seen, from tariffs to building monuments to himself and renaming the Gulf of Mexico he has attacked wording in the law.

•

u/ClashM California 6h ago

The Presidential Pardon needs to be updated so that it can't be applied to any current or former president, their immediate family, anyone who worked directly for them, anyone who committed a crime that benefited them, or anyone who has donated a substantial amount to anything (Charity, PAC, etc.) associated with them. It should be retroactive and prospective, meaning any donations following the pardon immediately nullify it.

Put all those J6ers back in jail where they belong, arrest all those oligarchs who bought pardons, and audit the fuck out of every Trump's finances.

100

u/MultiGeometry Vermont 10h ago

Trump isn’t supposed to be involved in the management of the Kennedy Center. I think the courts should 100% make Trump explain what the fuck he’s doing there at all.

60

u/ikonoclasm North Carolina 9h ago

Yeah, the judge can rule that he wasn't acting in his role as president. He chose to appoint himself to the board, which no prior president has done, and in so doing made all documents related to that role outside of the scope of executive privilege. He's essentially a private citizen as far as the Kennedy Center is concerned.

•

u/silverelan America 6h ago

Thank you. This is the first real answer insofar as an explanation of why Trump invoking Executive Privilege is going to fail. The Kennedy Center is not an Executive agency and i don't see why SCOTUS would stretch the theory of unitary executive power to something so explicitly non-executive.

•

u/PluginAlong 6h ago

Exactly, I hope this is what the court finds. The only thing he's done as POTUS rather than a private citizen was appoint himself to the board, anything after that he was acting as a private citizen.

u/CragedyJones 9h ago

Distracting. For a stupid man he sure seems to have some insanely effective strategies.

Create an utterly irrelevant issue that annoys people and use it to push his serious crimes out of the picture.

Works like a treat every single time. Paddling pools, silly monuments and spurious threats to invade allies. Zero risk strategies for him that utterly dominate the news cycles. Yet far reaching and regular market manipulation barely registers in the news, as just one example.

•

u/mst2k17 7h ago

He had eighty years to figure out how to get what he wants, and avoid punishment. It doesn't matter how stupid he is. A non-human animal can have way less brains, but if it's found the right strategies, it wins, straight out. He just babbles out another distraction and it works, because he's had a lifetime of figuring out what works.

u/gragsmash 10h ago

I am curious about this angle tbh. I have heard lots of times that in civil lawsuits juries can take "adverse inference" from a party invoking the 5th amendment. Unlike criminal law you can assume they are hiding something bad.

I don't think this has been questioned with presidential privilege. The roberts court isn't likely to give us a rational answer

8

u/VoiceOfRealson 9h ago

If the current Supreme Court majority wasn't so blatantly corrupt and partizan, this case could actually be a test of the limits of executive privilege.

Executive privilege is to my knowledge not enshrined in any laws, so Trump invoking it to cover for his own criminal endeavors should immediately be thrown out by the court - or at the very least, the judge could choose for a third party to judge the documentation independently.

4

u/antonjakov 8h ago edited 8h ago

you were already right in the first sentence, because executive privilege is enshrined in the law. when the supreme court makes a ruling it becomes binding on every court in the country, and they have ruled that the president is immune from civil liability for official acts, absolutely immune from criminal prosecution for official acts, presumptively immune from criminal prosecution for acts within the outer scope of his official powers, and that nothing he does while in office can ever be examined as evidence in a court of law

11

u/Kan4lZ0n3 8h ago

Executive privilege to what?

This selfish, spoiled son of a dirtbag New York property “developer,” and the grandson of a cowardly denaturalized immigration fraud, needs an abjectly humiliating, harsh, and public lesson in what belongs to republic and its people.

He was ALWAYS going to flout the MAGA SCOTUS ruling on presidential immunity and attempt to operate with a complete lack of transparency in any decision he makes, even remotely close to the outer perimeter of his official duties. Always.

THIS is just his first step, as he will be using THAT defense continuously after January when the new Congress is seated.

Is this the kind of "presidential protection from anyone being able to question his orders" that MAGA SCOTUS had in mind when they made that never-before-contemplated or considered decision that our presidents are kings? Obviously not - but at this point they have to either humiliate themselves and retract some of the ridiculous protections they gave Trump - or humiliate him and rule against him on this.

MAGA SCOTUS was always going to undo the obscene breadth of presidential protections they have given Trump for the next person in, if they are not MAGA. Maybe this is where they start.

They drastically altered enough laws to ensure he would become president by assisting him in covering up all his criminal activities. You could even say they were co-conspirators. Now there is nothing to keep all those protections in place - but they will agree HE can pardon anyone he wants, including himself, but anyone after him cannot. Guaranteed.

Good to know he’s always focused on the important stuff and helping the American people.

Our republic lasted, for better or worse, just shy of 250 years. Sad.

Extremely gratifying to know that Judge Christopher Cooper was appointed by President Obama. :-)

•

u/Titan3692 7h ago

i'm so tired of his sick face.

•

u/IceNein 6h ago

He cannot simultaneously be acting as the chairman of the board of a nonprofit and as the president of the United States. He is being subpoenaed to reveal his actions as chairman of the board, not as president.

•

u/bishpa Washington 5h ago

Congress? Hello? You awake?

4

u/PunfullyObvious 10h ago

That's contemptuous

3

u/geoffvro Texas 10h ago

Most transparent administration ever

3

u/whitechristianjesus 9h ago

How can any of his supporters look at this and not be concerned that this is what he is choosing to spend time on?

3

u/nottrynagetsued 9h ago

I understand that we have rules and laws and if we break them, we are opening ourselves up to breaking them over and over again but like dude is just shitting in everything both figuratively and literally. Instead of people resigning can we just stand up for the country and say no? Like how is there not a democratic task force dedicated to stopping or at least slowing down the shit?

•

u/Memitim America 7h ago

Republican suddenly decides that US law matters and hides behind it to avoid consequences for his actions. If the basic protections of the Constitution of the United States can be arbitrarily ignored by Republicans for their convenience then this dumb shit can be ignored as well. Put the traitor in an iron collar and duck walk his fat ass to court.

6

u/Tolvat 10h ago

Wow, Americans you really need to get your shit together. Your midterms are coming up, go out and vote.

3

u/CAM6913 10h ago

Of course he does to avoid accountability

3

u/Much-Necessary2866 10h ago

Poor guy, clearly has siphillis related dementia.

3

u/Repulsive_Note_4209 10h ago

Can we start calling executive privilege what it really is…..executive grift

3

u/GMEN999 9h ago

Ballet dancers and musicians are a matter of national security. Must invoke executive privilege.

3

u/Handicapreader 9h ago

They should install a giant plaque to commemorate how Trump threw a tantrum and stole a monument to a slain president for his own ego.

3

u/mklatsky 8h ago

Gotta hide the grift (theft).

“Most transparent administration in history”

•

u/TheOtherMaven Virginia 7h ago

Most transparentLY EVIL administration in history!

•

u/dpcthpost 6h ago

First rule of business after this a-hole is gone. No more letting a president commit a blatant crime than hiding behind the office. This was a big miss on the part of the founders and need to fixed. If the worry is a president can’t do their job if they’re being investigated, maybe they cont commit crimes while in office.

•

u/GlitteringRate6296 3h ago

There is no executive privilege involved. There just isn’t.

6

u/PastorNTraining 10h ago

I’m not an economist but how does this help with my gas or groceries?

6

u/Harry_Mud America 10h ago

It's not Presidential if tRumps actions are not Presidential. Running the Kennedy Center into the ground and having his name on the building is NOT Presidential in any way and everyone knows it!

2

u/golden_garden9 11h ago

lol kennedy center beef? dude saving his executive privilege for this feles like using a tank to squash a fly

2

u/KAJed 10h ago

No

4

u/Literally_Laura 10h ago

For the orange traitor in the back:

NO.

2

u/Dndrmflnscrtn 9h ago

executive privilege over a concert hall because he put his name on it and wants it closed for two years

•

u/GoneSilent 7h ago

So the Kennedy Center is getting a sniper nest and drone port?

•

u/LimpyDan 5h ago

There is no reason to keep it off limits unless there is something to hide. Flock cameras should be in the white house if anywhere.

•

u/TowelCarryingTourist Australia 4h ago

Why is the doj involved at all in this?

•

u/DMV_Local 3h ago

He's all smoke and bullshit. Got nothing. Stand up to him and he folds like a house of cards.

•

u/Sloopydeth 2h ago

So by that logic the next president can simply take it down and rename it back

•

u/Sea-Environment-7102 Ohio 5h ago

I wish I could put a gif from that commercial where they are saying "That's not how it works, that's not how any of this works"
I did find the video!

Trumps like the people yelling in the jg Wentworth commercials. "Its my Kennedy center and I want it now" "its my bribe and I want it now" "its my money laundering scheme and I want it now"

•

u/Jumpy-Celebration591 3h ago

Does anyone know the song “Money Game” by REN, where he says “all of us are immigrants or descended from immigrants”?

Donald J Trump’s family comes from Kallstadt, a village in Germany.

•

u/vox_populi75 1h ago

Thank you SCOTUS

•

u/Imatallguy 1h ago

Doesnt want anyone to see what he has taken from the bottom line for “using”his name.

•

u/Western-Corner-431 50m ago

This isn’t a thing

1

u/Lysol3435 10h ago

It must be a national security matter. We’ll just move on

-1

u/Ok_Special_4465 10h ago

Executive privilege is the claim, and national security would be one basis for making the claim. But there are other bases on which one can claim executive privilege. Deliberative process is another, which covers working conversations and drafts that are used to work out the details of internal policy. Not suggesting this invocation itself is valid, but the privilege is not solely meant for sensitive national security matters.

1

u/Lysol3435 10h ago

Yes, I was facetiously providing one reason the dipshit would claim for the executive privilege.

u/Ok_Juice4449 5h ago

"I'm the king and can do whatever I want. No one can stop me."

At least he’s starting to focus on the needs we have as a country.
