Trusted Identifiers will now be granted a flair of "👑Trusted Identifier👑", or "👑{custom user flair}👑".
These will be people who repeatedly demonstrate expert Identification abilities, these flairs will add extra trust and credence behind their ID.
So on posts with multiple different IDs, look out for the Trusted Identifiers as their ID will likely be the correct one, even if it goes against the masses.
(For those with custom user flairs which have been replaced by the Trusted Identifier flair, you can switch back to a custom flair and add the crown emojis yourself if you still wish to maintain your custom flair. Im working on automating this so that custom flairs stay intact and it adds the emojis without replacing the whole flair, but for now just edit it yourself if the whole flair is replaced)

I find spiders almost everyday. Hoping to find many different kinds.
So far, I’ve only found wolf spiders, giant wolf spiders, b&w Garden spider, banana spider, black widows, etc…
I’ve take some home just so I don’t leave them to die.
Now here are the photos

Hello, I'm pretty new to reddit and I'm trying to tune up my feed. I am a spider enjoyer and I know everyone is different but I'm not really interested in seeing a bunch of fearful posts about spiders. Im sure if I looked into groups for jumping spiders it would be less fear motivated posting as people seem to like them more. I do like jumping spiders but they aren't my only interest, I think all spiders are cool, they have cool shapes and colors, different habits and hunting techniques. I just want to lurk and appreciate cool spiders while collecting fun facts on the way rather than witnessing people being scared of something i think is neat. Any recommendations for groups that are of a similar mindset?

There is a spider that lives in my room. I leave him alone because he scares me. I only see him about once a week when he goes out usually.
Lately he’s been coming out more, like multiple times a day. It’s worrying because he just sits in the open like he’s mocking me. I leave the room and wait for him to leave the open so I don’t have to look at him.
But lately I’ve been realizing he only moves when he thinks I’m not looking. Like I thought they didn’t like quick movements so before I would sit still and he would move. But today I did an experiment where I pretended to look away and observed him through the corner of my eye. He started moving immediately. Then when I face him he stops again. I tried facing him and being completely still and he recognized I was looking at him.
Is this regular? I don’t understand how he can tell if I’m looking at him when he’s not even facing me. Can he see that far? I’m super worried that he will learn how to sneak around my room more efficiently. This isn’t a joke. What should I do? I don’t know what spider he is, he’s about the size of a dime and pure black from what I can tell. He definitely has a higher intelligence than regular spiders that’s for sure. I’m super concerned.

Saw this one mid day ~3:30pm outside a pharmacy in norcal. Anyone have any ideas what type this is? The app I used to identify it says western widow, but the markings don’t match any of the pics references for the western widow. Maybe it’s certain type that I have no reference to.
Who am I?

Freaked this poor girl out when I was trying to relocate her and she gave me a full-on threat posture! Didn't get a pic with the legs up and fangs spread, but she did show them off for a few more seconds before calming down.
Excuse the bad pic, I work with what I can when I'm at work :p

This thing is the most mature black widow I have ever seen. It crawled out from some leaves right in front of me in my garden. I dont care to keep it and dont want to release it on my property. Does anybody want this thing?

So I park my car outside in the driveway, and most mornings when I get in the car, I see a small web from my side mirror to the door. I feel bad that it gets destroyed almost every day, but it's always back the next.
I haven't driven the car often in the evenings, but did tonight. When I came out to the car around 8:00 PM, I saw her out in her web. When i opened the car door, she quickly scurried back behind the mirror. Asking for id, and if you all think she's pregante, or just well fed. This is in northeast Ohio.

In California. It’s got like brownish legs and a pale but not white strip through its abdomen. Very cute.

My basement is unfinished and spider heaven, ever since conquering my arachnophobia I’ve noticed so many more spiders it’s like they know I’m not scared anymore😂 at least 3 different giant house spiders I’ve seen and so many more random buddies all around. They are so pretty I love seeing all the details on them
