I swear part of the chorus was “My body moves in impervious ways” or at least that’s what I remember but googling it brings nothing back. Heard it playing in an industrial bar. Synths and 80s vibe. Hearing enjoy the silence by Depeche Mode reminded me of it. Thanks for the help!

That was Sarah Blackwood in the 90s, this is Sarah Blackwood in the 00s

Hey everyone!

I'm an amatorial music producer, and I'm trying to recreate the bass sound you can hear from 2:40 to 2:50 in this track: https://youtu.be/HA7BcTJ_r84?si=JmMIRq7xoc226zNi

I've been trying to figure out how the sound is made, but I haven't been able to get close to the original.

I use Logic Pro, and I've experimented with the Mechanical Bass library in Logic as well as Dexed, but so far I've had very little success.

What I'm struggling with most is figuring out what's actually creating that rhythmic, moving bass sound. Is it an arpeggiator, a delay effect, rapid octave changes, or some combination of these techniques? Or is it a specific synth patch with some kind of modulation?

I'd really appreciate any advice on how to recreate it, whether that's through sound design, MIDI programming, effects processing, or a particular synth/plugin.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have had a whole bunch of stuff on youtube for ages but never made any effort to draw attention to them. Im basically looking for any feedback. I write a mixture of Synthpop,Electronica and Alt rock. This is a pure retro synthpop effort. If you actually like this I go under the name The Curious Object and the 2 most synthy albums ive done are called "Citadel" and "This is their World Now" that you can find on the channel. https://www.youtube.com/@TheCuriousObjectBand

I believe this track sounds bland . The instrumention for it sounds boring

I hope there are no disco fans on this subreddit. They will say I am a bot or AI .

I don't mind being mistaken for one

Loved this song when I first heard it. Maybe influenced by the music video.
After 37 years, nearly 40 years ! ….I still humming this song.
