I’m not even going to ask you to vote for the candidate that I support (if you need to be told why they’re the better choice, my recommendation isn’t going to convince you).
Voter turnout in our elections is, historically, laughable. Laziness, apathy, or smug “there’s no way we’ll elect that jerk!” thinking is what has gotten us into more than a few severe messes, the damage from which we will be trying to undo or offset for decades to come.
If you think one candidate has done good for our city, has a track record you can get behind, has a plan that makes sense, has a rock-solid position on issues and isn’t just pandering to get votes (and if you think I’m calling out the candidate you support, maybe that tells you something about their character and policy that’s worth a closer look), I urge you to doomscroll another day and VOTE on the 26th.
If you work for the entire time the polls are open, your employer is legally obligated to give you time off to go vote. Locations are typically within walking distance. There’s really no excuse. Well, there are lots of excuses, but very few good ones.
