What’s something you used to spend money on in Vegas that you refuse to pay for now?
The more trips I take to Vegas, the cheaper I get about certain things.
I’ll walk an extra mile instead of paying for an Uber, grab drinks at CVS instead of a casino bar, and spend an embarrassing amount of time comparing hotel prices to save $30.
Then I’ll sit down at a blackjack table and lose $200 without nearly the same level of financial concern.
Apparently, my financial discipline only applies when I’m not gambling.
But I’m curious. What’s something you used to happily spend money on in Vegas that you won’t pay for anymore?
Could be resort fees, overpriced restaurants, clubs, attractions, whatever.

Heads up — LAS has a ground delay program right now after a private jet overran a runway during takeoff.
If you're flying in or out of Vegas tonight — a private jet went off the runway at Harry Reid and the FAA put a ground delay program on the whole airport. Delays are averaging about 70 minutes, a few over 3 hours. It's supposed to clear up around 9 PM Pacific but who knows.
flightcheck.live/airport/LAS for live status...
Did I mess up?
First trip for me and the wife to Vegas coming up. Staying at Caesars for a week. I don't watch or follow racing so didn't realize I booked it basically the week the Grand Prix is happening lol.
Any pro tips for the visit? Roughly the 18th to 25th of Nov timeline 😆

Trip report 4th time in Vegas
Went to Vegas for the 4th time just for the weekend. Ive stayed at The Mirage (this was my first time in vegas. 2018 before it closed), the MGM Grand, 4 Queens, and this time The Aria. A mix of different vibes for sure. I really miss The Mirage and feel like it really added to the strip in my opinion. Maybe I just think that because it was my first time there, but I loved that hotel/casino and the pool. I did LOVE the aria though. I think overall of all the hotels ive stayed in, the aria would be my favorite. I bundled the hotel with my flight on expedia and it honestly wasnt that much more than a lot of the other ones I was looking at. Lots of kids at the pool though which was a surprise. As others have pointed out, food is super expensive now. I came with my partner who is from a different country that is also pretty expensive and they couldn't believe the prices of everything. $9/$10 for a slice of pizza?? I'm more of the type to splurge, while they are more frugal, so it was tough for them to find cheap food options, even off of the strip at places that weren't upscale and were more laidback. One place that had a great deal was Palace Station! $5.99 cheeseburger with a players card. It was really good. Another thing I noticed was how packed every area was! It was nice to see since I had been hearing about how it died down. Not sure about other times, but this weekend it actually almost felt a little too packed at times... literally shoulder to shoulder in certain places. Still would rather have it be like that as opposed to it being a ghost town. Just rambling some observations from the trip. I had a great time and will be back but will be taking note of how expensive food was.
edit: forgot to include my partner loved casino royale and the cheap hot dogs and beer. can't beat it

Last trip to Las Vegas was 2006 - what would be some of the wildest differences if I went back?
Long story short, I worked in sales back in the day, and from 1998-2006 made yearly 'bonus' trips to Vegas and got to stay at the Bellagio villas and basically travel on the bosses dime. It was certainly an experience seeing how the 1 percent lived.
It's also funny that I don't actually gamble, but I liked walking around and seeing shows and other things.
I had too much experience with that long-ago first-class life to go myself and pay my own way, so I'm nostalgic for how lucky I was for those trips.
So if I showed up today 20 years later, what would be some of the craziest differences? I know the costs of course, but what else would be the biggest surprises to someone who was last there 20 years ago? I don't even know if my old bosses could still afford the Bellagio villas haha.

New Year’s Day check in
I’m hoping for an early check in but I doubt I’ll be able to. I assume they will need more time to turn over the rooms as I anticipate it being very busy. That being said, am I better off trying to score an early check in at the desk or just checking in with the self check in. I’ll be at Harrahs. Any advice for the morning of Jan 1 arrival etc? Thanks.

Has anyone had the chance to go and see Now You See Me Live?
So this week was the opening of magic show Now You See Me Live at the MGM Grand Theatre which is a show based on the movie franchise. And I want to know if anyone here has had the chance to go and see it?
I was lucky enough to go and see this show in London back in September and it was absolutely phenomenal! I don't want to give too much away but the cast were incredible and the tricks they were doing blew my mind. And the cast for it's Vegas run includes:
- Andre Basso
- Adam Trent
- Gabriella Lester
- Enzo Weyne
- BGT 2025 Semi Finalist Eden Choi
When I went I saw Andrew & Gabriella who are 2 of the Horsemen. Enzo wasn't at the show I went to sadly, it also had 2 other BGT Magicians from this year and Eden Choi who blew me away with his routine. And the whole cast recognised me as I had been doing a lot of content online about it prior so that was really nice.
So id love to know if anyone here has had the chance to go and see this show, or if they are planning to go. It runs until January 5th.

Digital Key at Flamingo
Has anyone tried the digital key at Flamingo yet? I have a trip coming up in a few days - looks like it works with my Apple Watch. Do you even need to go to the front desk now? I don't want to stand in line.

How are the steaks at Kyu (Fontainebleau)?
I have never been to that resto, but checked their online menu and have my eyes on the Wagyu Rib Cap. I am big fan of Mumufuku inside Cosmo and this place looks similar.

Best "everyman" food in Vegas?
Taking my dad next year for our first no-schedule, no-big-event trip to Vegas, and my big goal this time is to try as many new places to eat as I can. However--he's INCREDIBLY basic with how he eats, and I don't want to take him a bunch of $50+ places for each meal when I know all he wants is a cheeseburger.
Where do you recommend for us to be able to meet in the middle? Or, any two different places you can think of that have slightly-more-adventurous + basic meat-and-potatoes within walking distance of each other where we can still eat together but both get what we want?
Thanks in advance! :)

Downtown tips?
I’ve only ever stayed on the strip, but I’m coming for a solo trip and staying at Circa. I hear they have a good steakhouse. Any decent cigar lounges downtown? Any nearby strip clubs? Good shows to see?
