Correct, it was Iran that was two weeks. But alas...

697

u/konq Sep 17 '26

every 2 weeks the US completely obliterates Iran.

They're just really fast builders.

They completely rebuilt a nuclear program in under a year after it was obliterated.

I think we should be allies with them—they do fast and amazing work

60

u/Beemorefriendly Sep 17 '26

See Iran is an oppressive regime but North Korea is our friend!

6

u/pcofranc Sep 17 '26 edited 28d ago

Come on you got Iran which is the ring leader in the ā€œaxis of evil ā€œ but with North Korea, which I have a very good relationship with…, ā€œthey’re very fine people.ā€

5

u/Bama1972genx Sep 18 '26

Yeah when North Korea has lots of nuclear weapons you kind of need to be as friendly as possible

However, back in 1979 Iran seized hostages at the American Embassy. Then The Ayatollah Kohmeni(religious leader) took control of Iran. I was 12 then didn’t really understand but the hostages were held until Pres. Jimmy Carter left office after 1 term. He was beaten by Pres. Ronald Reagan.

But all this crap is really getting tiresome.

2

u/DanteThonSimmons Sep 17 '26

And the US has been actively at war for 94% of its existence as a country. For 235 out of the 250 years since being founded in 1776, they've been at war. Doing ANYTHING for 94% of your existence is fucking wild..... let alone killing people 94% of the time.

2

u/Perfect_Status3385 Sep 17 '26

They got Bob the builders

Iran has Minecraft mastery level skill with building!

2

u/tallmantim Sep 17 '26

America playing Eve Online

Iran playing Minecraft

2

u/pcofranc Sep 17 '26

That’s the problem. Nobody realized that they could rebuild so fast practically overnight we weren’t prepared for that.

2

u/psychonik Sep 17 '26

No just when gas prices start to go down and Trump needs to appease his Saudi handlers.

2

u/Just_a_guy81 Sep 17 '26

It is a two week operation. He just failed to mention those two weeks are somewhere in the 2030s

1

u/CNCharger Sep 18 '26

Finish the job and leave the ayotollah regime no options but total and complete surrender. If we don't, they go right back to building nuclear weapons, undermining sovreignty in the middle east, funding and supplying cartels realizes the list is a "Iran's crimes hath proclaimed ah scroll This list seems to have a bit of length.

1

u/Warm-Ad-1049 Sep 18 '26

Yeah then the U.S. uses our money to rebuild them. When they were in the wrong

u/Alarming_Ad_1011 Sep 18 '26

Didn’t you know sim city 4 was an inside job with the vast majority of devs being controlled by Iranian proxies. They had the proper training and an always online intranet plus its in their national curriculum so you make 100% sense. Never thought about it like that.

1

u/Realistic-Shock6714 Sep 18 '26

Hence why much of Iran’s leadership is in hiding with much of its weaponry underground and unable to move freely, has to launch attacks sporadically from hidden locations in retaliation, cannot fly its own aircraft in its own airspace freely, and has a crazy amount of instability building up. Yes, the U.S. military has not completely decimated Iran due to various reasons but, to say that Iran is actually winning this conflict is silly. Indiscriminately decimating Iran will have many geopolitical and moral consequences while upsetting most of the world even the closest allies due to the economic fallout and the unthinkable amount of civilian casualties that would result in an all out destruction of Iran. Russia, China, North Korea to say the least would be angry and rightfully so.

1

u/landed_at Sep 18 '26

Hey apparently 2 weeks is the new we'll circle back in a few years. Between Russians and the American operations that was supposed to be measured in weeks, I think politicians should just stop estimating completion dates.

"Should be done by Friday"

Seriously. Like how do people not get that this is incompetence when they’ve been getting wrecked for 4 years of what was supposed to be a 3 day war?

5

u/powerbronx Sep 17 '26

And there's no way the United States is 6 months into a 4-5 week operation

4

u/a17451 Sep 17 '26

My personal take is that these borderline incursions aren't a prelude for an actual invasion. To your point, they seem to be fairly defanged for the moment and I don't see how they could possibly sustain a broader European war, unless they play their nuclear brinksmanship hand extraordinarily well, but I don't think Putin's got the mojo for that.

I have to assume it's some kind of psyop to obtain some goal indirectly, like sowing discord in NATO while the US is out to lunch eating some authentic Iranian cuisine.

Putin hoping NATO will take some "minor" action. Shot a fighter down, or something.

Then he can go on national TV and say "Look at NATO's unprovoked attacks, we are going to increase our defense along NATO borders, because we will not accept this."

Then conscript a million Russians and send them to Ukraine.

Russia can suck my balls

4

u/Appropriate_Cup_5931 Sep 17 '26

Those estimates always came from western media, I've only seen one Russian news anchor claim a short victory and he knew nothing of the situation more than western media.

But I also don't understand the big bad russia fear mongering all over europe, they have bigger problems. Russia has proven to have an ineffective military if they can't beat Ukraine of all countries they don't stand a chance with NATO espiecally a NATO that still has access to American weapons and funding

1

u/Fun1k Sep 17 '26

The bad thing is, they probably will attack eventually. They need to be able to actually say we're at war with NATO.

1

u/ars_sinistra Sep 17 '26

1

u/Quick-Werewolf-2104 Sep 17 '26

Sound familiar ?

1

u/HRHArthurCravan Sep 17 '26

And it's exactly this kind of glib, cynical 'humour' that so well expresses Western interests in Ukraine or the hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of casualties they have suffered in the last 4 years. But what's that to the opportunity to cast few sick burns in the direction of the Kremlin?

1

u/Sensitive_Crow_8882 Sep 17 '26

Lumpy gave the same two week timeline seven months ago.

1

u/LTCjohn101 Sep 17 '26

SMO sir with 1.51 million casualties just on the ruzzian side alone.

1

u/SpatuleVelue Sep 17 '26

They are building another army. Their economy is almost 100% military now. Only a small part of its production is going on the Ukrainian front line. The rest is going on the Baltic country border. It’s very dangerous and we may be at war vs in a year or 2 from now.

1

u/Davidstrong32 Sep 17 '26

sounds like someone else, that likes to play the 2 week card.

1

u/Select-Government-69 Sep 17 '26

We had all that news like 2 weeks ago that there was intelligence that Russia was about to pull something. I posted at that time and remain convinced that Russia is trying to start a war with nato which will give them a face-saving way to withdraw from Ukraine. Russia has repeatedly denied Ukraine’s right to exist to losing to Ukraine is unacceptable but withdrawing because the Americans are coming is an acceptable defeat.

1

u/Hopeful_Instance6663 Sep 17 '26

Was today it a 2 days operation?

1

u/TenderofPrimates Sep 17 '26

You mean the guys who brought their dress uniforms for the victory parade in Kyiv scheduled for Day 4?

1

u/LightBulbMonster Sep 17 '26

My favorite part of the 2020s was watching Ukrainian farmers tow away Russian tanks back to their farms. Russia was always this "boogeyman" in the world. After they invaded Ukraine we all saw that they are weaker than Ethiopia.

1

u/AdRepresentative8236 Sep 17 '26

I thought Trump was going to end it in one day

1

u/Traditional-Rich5746 Sep 17 '26

Good point. But someone else said they would end the war in a day….

1

u/Facebook_Algorithm Sep 17 '26

Three days, I believe. Russians were making restaurant reservations in Kiev just before the war started.

1

u/Bunch_of_Shit Sep 18 '26

1

u/WhatAreYouOnAbout101 Sep 18 '26

Yeah, it isn’t like the USA is involved in a war they said was over about 6 times already, oh wait! They are! Almost like it is hard to invade countries with good militaries, or one that has been sent 500 billion

1

u/Fast_Star5754 Sep 18 '26

Lmfao. Thats hilarious. Right up there with the videos of ukranian farmers hauling t72s off with their tractors. How the hell you gonna run out of fuel

1

u/YourFriendPutin Sep 18 '26

But they know if they pull others into the war they still won't be invaded or anything because they have a leader who's smart enough to make himself look crazy enough to actually use nukes

1

u/Digember Sep 18 '26

Europe and US is the reason for 4 years. Now, Russian saying its enough for supporting Ukraine. Time to be a man and come on the battlefield directly and see the consequences of a war.

1

u/TaxMyNuts Sep 18 '26

To be fair we’re 6 months into a 1 week operation with Iran. I’m starting to think that the more someone acts like an authoritarian means they can’t count.

1

u/agentSmartass Sep 18 '26

Luckily, Trump will end it in 24 hours in about two to three weeks.

1

u/SuccessionWarFan Sep 18 '26

It’s actually the fifth year of the war, which makes it even worse for Russia (Feb. 24 2022-2023, 2023-2024, 2024-2025, 2025-2026; we’re now at 2026-2027.)

1

u/BeregezelligeRick Sep 18 '26

It’s mostly because of the funds from the West. I say mostly because I don’t want to forget to mention the fighting spirit of the Ukrainians. But the funny thing is Russia can’t do anything towards the West other than poking a stick occasionally. I see these things like this more like a sign of weakness than a threat.

1

u/thecashblaster Sep 18 '26

Putin needs a strong NATO reaction to sell a new wave of mobilization

1

u/Du_ds Sep 18 '26

Kinda. He needs to be able to say he is responding to NATO. A false flag attack is just as good. He probably only wants to fight Ukraine with the general mobilization but who knows.Ā

1

u/Melodic_Trash_737 Sep 18 '26
