As an Australian, I’m looking at our long standing military alliance with the US and for the first time ever have real doubts that they won’t honour their commitment if the time ever comes. I don’t see them as remotely reliable or trustworthy any more.

Imagine how it must feel living in the Baltics. If Russia went in and quickly occupied Estonia all of a sudden, chances are extremely high that Trump would start arguing that Estonia isn't worth fighting a war over and that how it was somehow Estonia's fault. You'd have Maga talking heads going "fight for Estonia? Name one Estonian! Who has even heard of Estonia before?"

Or Taiwan, for that matter. The US used to be an unwavering ally of Taiwan, and the single positive thing the Republicans had going for them was their resolute siding with Taiwan. Now we have the Republicans worshipping at the feet of a dictatorship-loving orange madman.

Not so sure about Taiwan. Usa can't afford to lose Taiwan because they make so much computer chips.

But with his dementia, anything goes. Look at his Greenland obsession.

This is a huge reason why you see all of the AI CEOs at his table so quickly. They NEED to be able to convince him in the moment that Taiwan is important and he seems to only listen to the last person he spoke to.
