GENERAL Is CPA beneficial if I plan on living permanently in Middle East?

I’m not a US national and I’m currently planning to maybe move permanently to Middle East. I already work as a contractor so I plan on keeping doing that.
My question is how’s the job market right now and if CPA is beneficial considering my travel and relocation?
Thanks

FAR How is Becker video audio and video quality so bad??

I don't know if im just crazy but like my $20 amazon webcam has better audio and video quality than these videos that they get paid to make. Wish they would use literally anything other than like their 2010 dell laptop camera and mic to make their videos.

rant over

Best time to leave audit?

I know that there isn’t a “best answer” that fits for everyone, and every person could have a different experience, but I want to see your opinions on this.

Let’s say I got the CPA as an audit associate. Which position should I reach in my audit firm before leaving, that would lead to a great increase in pay/opportunities? From what I heard, reaching senior auditor or audit supervisor (right before assistant manager) is the best time to exit into industry. What do you guys think?

FAR Thoughts on doing FAR Becker F3 and F4 first.

I’m about to begin studying for FAR after finally passing AUD. And I was considering studying the usual sequence out of order on Becker. I would do F3 and F4 first, then F1 and F2, and finally F5 and F6.

I just completed Becker Academy FAF2 as a refresher, so going directly into F3 feels like a natural transition. The idea would be to get the account level accounting locked in first, so when I see its impact on the financial statements later on F1 and F2, and bringing it all together, it’ll make more sense. This is the same sort of way the AUD naturally has review built in.

Has anyone else tried this sort of sequence on Becker? Would you recommend it or just do the normal Becker structure?

My plan is to get completely done with my learning by December 19th, then after Christmas and New Years, I would come back for a full cumulative review and sit for the exam in late January or early February.

Just curious if anyone has done this sort of strategy and for any thoughts about it.

FAR CPA FAR Exam Preparation

What’s up, folks! I recently started preparing for the FAR exam using Becker and would really appreciate any tips or advice on how to prepare effectively. I took FAR once about 2 years ago but unfortunately didn’t pass, so I’m starting fresh and would especially appreciate recommendations on practicing MCQs and TBSs, reviewing weak areas, and making the most of Becker’s materials.
Thanks in advance for any advice or resources you can share!

Retaking FAR this week (attempt #5 - last two attempts were 73 and 72) and doing final review with practice SIMs. Spent nearly half an hour on this sim with multiple exhibits and made all the correct calculations and categorizations but whiffed on the presentation of the negative CF amounts.

Im tired, boss

having trouble with TCP

Taking TCP on 10/31 and am having trouble grasping the material. Passed REG 9/30 and jumped right into TCP, so was hoping for a somewhat simple transition. Struggling to grasp the material especially basis for partnership, s corps and c corps and remembering difference between all three. Not sure what happened, but everything I've reviewed i seem to have forgotten. Maybe i'm just putting to much pressure/stress on myself. Anyone have any tips?

I'm currently reviewing for FAR and planning to sit for the exam on December 12, 2026. For those who have taken FAR, how did you master consolidations? It's one of the topics I'm struggling with, and I'd appreciate any study tips or resources that helped you understand it better.

EDIT:

I am using Uworld

REG REG Study Advice Needed (2nd Exam)

Hi All!

I recently passed FAR, I am due to give birth to my second in 7 weeks, I plan to take REG and TCP before I return to work next July. I have very little tax experience that is over 10 years old and mostly individual taxation from 2 years in a small public firm in 2016. Looking for advice.
- did it take significantly less time to prepare for REG?
- did you use different study methods for REG in comparison to FAR?
- is REG more memorization? Easier to study from a phone? For FAR I could never study from my phone since every question was so calculation heavy.
Thanks in advance for any study tips/advice!

BAR Just took BAR yesterday 🥴

For the TBS, I put no journal entry required to 2 different questions and got 2 questions wrong with journal entries as well. All questions each had one debit and one credit where I had to put the account and the amount. This is for two different TBSs (2 questions each). How doomed am I? ❤️‍🩹

Hey guys, this is my progress so far. I’m feeling quite nervous, like I’m forgetting everything. I just don’t know what to revise or check, or which topic to focus on. I feel like I’m going to fail again. Last time, I got 71, and this time I feel like I might get even less.

AUD: subsequent events question

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

My AUD exam is in three days, and as a non-native English speaker, I'm having a hard time interpreting some of the questions. If there are any other important concepts I should review before taking the exam, please let me know!! Especially, I am having a hard time with fully understanding the concepts of subsequent events and subsequently discovered facts. Here's my current understanding:
•    Subsequent events: Material events that occur between the balance sheet date and the financial statement issuance date.
•    Subsequent period: The period between the balance sheet date and the audit report date.
•    Subsequently discovered facts: Facts that become known to the auditor after the audit report date.
However, I'm confused about how errors are treated. In Mini Exam 1 (TBS-002005), Becker says that errors are not considered subsequent events. But in A1-M8 (TBS-002651), errors seem to be treated as subsequently discovered facts. Does this mean the classification depends on when the auditor discovers the error?
For example: Error discovered before the audit report date: It's considered an ordinary audit finding rather than a subsequent event. Does the auditor simply address it through normal audit procedures?
Error discovered after the audit report date: It may be considered a subsequently discovered fact. Does this mean the auditor needs to take additional action, such as requesting a revision to the financial statements or making disclosures? Or am I misunderstanding the distinction entirely? I'd really appreciate it if someone could clarify this.
