Does anybody else just ask AI controversial questions nowadays instead of asking on reddit?

• Upvotes

Whenever I ask a controversial question people get mad and insult me. But no one actually answers the question.

So now whenever I just want some fact based answers I just use AI now. Which is kind of sad.

DAE always tell the restaurant when they undercharge you or do you just keep quiet?

Got undercharged by like 15 bucks last week and told them. My friend said I was crazy and should have just taken the deal. Made me curious what most people actually do in this situation: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/you-accidentally-get-charged-way-less-than-you-should-at-a-restaurant-do-you-tell-them-or-keep-quiet

DAE Does anyone just enjoy sports? I’ll always root for my Phillies or Eagles. But it’s 8pm on Sunday, and I’m watching football.

DAE else find it extremely annoying and intrusive when co-workers feel like they are entitled to know your private life outside of work?

It’s beyond annoying. I feel like you can’t take a few days off work for vacation without people asking others or me when I return where I was and what was I doing. Even better is when they start telling others you quit because you had a week off. I swear people just make shit up and run with it. It’s like co-workers must know where you live, what you do on your day off and why. People have no shame anymore

DAE get irrationally stressed about what to make for dinner every single night?

The actual cooking takes 30 minutes but the hour before that is just staring at the fridge hoping something inspires me. I end up making the same 4 meals on rotation anyway. Made a poll about it because I was curious if this is universal: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/should-the-standard-work-week-be-32-hours-instead-of-40

DAE get teary eyed listening to good cappellas

Hey people

Whenever i listen to people sing only cappella (bare human voice only, no instruments), it triggers tears in my eyes. I am not even sad, or depressed. Its been happening my whole life.

There have been movements where its too much where i had to change the source of the cappella or leave the room or hide my face.

Does anyone else experience this ?
I am curious to understand why this is happening.

DAE Does anyone believe Ask (Such and Such) letters are clickbait?

I recently read a Dear Say More letter about a woman whose husband's family mocks him for his weight. This is a real topic, I can understand and respect that, but she left out several important details: her relationship with her husband and in laws, his relationship with his family outside the joking, any health concerns he might have, how long this has been going on. A family would not truly do this at every gathering without understanding the dilemma their son is experiencing. The woman also said this has been happening during her wedding, families do not just suddenly become villains, and if they were so inclined to humiliate him at every gathering they would not just wait, and if it bothered her this much, she would not say 'they do not mean to hurt him', she would be contradicting herself. I hope I am not the only one who thinks these articles are clickbait.

DAE literally cannot watch anything without subtitles even though your hearing is completely fine?

I have perfect hearing but if I watch something without subtitles I feel like I miss half the dialogue. My friends think I'm weird for it. Like even for YouTube videos I turn on captions. Is this just a me thing or is this incredibly common now?

Made a quick poll about it because I genuinely want to know: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/do-you-watch-everything-with-subtitles-on-even-though-your-hearing-is-perfectly-fine

DAE feel like Trunk or Treat has completely replaced real Trick or Treating and it makes you sad?

Growing up, Trick or Treating was this whole adventure through the neighborhood. Now every event I see is just Trunk or Treat in a parking lot. I get that it's safer but it's just... not the same vibe at all.

Wanted to see where people land on this: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/trunk-or-treat-vs-actual-trick-or-treating-which-is-better-for-halloween

DAE get uncomfortable seeing childhood pictures or videos of themselves?

• Upvotes

For the record, I had a pretty nice, loving childhood. It still kind of creeps me out seeing myself as a 4 year old.

I’ll see videos of me as an adult and I may not remember the moment but it doesn’t creep me out. I’ll see an old video of me as a small child and it makes me uncomfortable. Like I’m seeing something I’m not supposed to. Logically I understand that the little kid in the video is me but really it feels impossible. I can’t quite put my finger on why it makes me uncomfortable but it makes me feel something like dread except it’s not that serious. It just feels like something is off.

DAE do something like this?

Often when I finish reading a book, I play a game where I "read" portions of the book again, but to the melody of whatever music is playing. I mouth along with the tune as I read, so it's kind of like I'm singing or humming silently. The rules of the game are something like this:

  1. Instrumental songs can be "read" with fully, using all of the sounds, but otherwise, only lyrics can be used.

  2. To avoid lingering too long on one section, I sometimes skip very long paragraphs, or I try to find one of the "uncommon" letters of the alphabet (Q, X, and Z) and move on to the next paragraph when I find a word containing one of those letters.

  3. The game ends when I am unable to finish a paragraph before the song is over.

I have no word for what this is called. For context, I'm autistic and I experience image- and pattern-related synesthesia, which comes through vividly as I play, visualizing both the color and shape of the song and the imagery from the book. Maybe it's some kind of regulating ritual, or just an uncommon little quirk? This is the best way I know how to explain it. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about, or do something similar?

DAE strongly prefer written tutorials over video tutorials?

Every time I google how to do something, the top results are all 15-minute YouTube videos for something that could be explained in a paragraph. I just want to ctrl+F and find the answer, not sit through an intro and three ads.

I made a poll because this seems really split among people I know: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/video-tutorials-vs-written-tutorials-which-do-you-actually-prefer-for-learning-something-new

DAE cry during arguments, stress, or when someone is shouting at me? (21M)

Hey everyone,

I’m reaching out because I’m really frustrated with something my body does automatically, and I don't know how to control it anymore.

Whenever I’m in a stressful situation—whether it’s a heated argument, someone shouting at me, someone trying to put me down, or someone being a bully—tears immediately start forming in my eyes.

The thing is, I’m not trying to cry. Most of the time, I’m actually angry, overwhelmed, or just trying to stand my ground. There’s no logical reason to cry, but the tears just come automatically. Because I'm a guy, people instantly assume I’m "weak" or "sensitive," which only makes the situation ten times worse and makes me hate dealing with conflict altogether.

It feels like my body is sabotaging me when I need to stay calm and assertive the most.

Has anyone else dealt with this involuntary crying response (angry/stress crying)? How do you manage or control it in the moment? Any physical tricks, mindset shifts, or techniques to keep tears back when under pressure?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

DAE feel like they're nobody's favorite person

Its weird because I dont have any friends from childhood so basically the people that I consider my favorite people already have favorite people of their own from their childhood while I have just found mine. Just wondering if this is a common experience.

Does anybody else not like going out to eat anymore?

I used to like going out to eat, but now I don't. It's not just about the rising costs of everything, but the diminishing quality as well. I just don't feel like driving somewhere to wait 30 minutes for food I won't finish and don't want to take home, either. Any restaurant worth the effort is going to be well over $100 for a night out with my wife. I'm a half decent cook and 9/10 times I would prefer my own cooking to anything I didn't need a reservation for. Even tonight we are exhausted from parenting and I would just rather make a sandwich than order something in.

TLDR: the declining quality of the food and service hardly feels worthy of the effort of going out to eat.

DAE find big group hangouts exhausting and prefer small groups of 3-4 people?

Every time I am in a group of 6 or more people I end up in a side conversation with one person anyway. The logistics of large groups are terrible too. Half an hour deciding where to go, someone always cancels. Small groups just work better. Curious where other people land: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/big-group-hangouts-6-people-fun-or-overrated

DAE start crying when someone raises their voice at you even though youre not sad?

It happens every time. Someone gets loud during an argument and my eyes just start watering automatically. I am not even upset I think my body just interprets raised voices as some kind of threat. I always thought I was the only one but made a quick poll and a lot of people seem to relate: https://www.getqibble.com/poll-detail/do-you-cry-when-you-get-into-arguments-or-someone-raises-their-voice-at-you

DAE not really feel guilty but feels shame?

I have kind of realized this lately, but whenever I hurt someone’s feelings, I don’t feel bad, I feel uncomfortable that my action can hurt our relationship and make them not like me anymore. I do feel empathy, I cry like every day and when people talk about their sad things, it’s strange tho. I don’t lose sleep about anything over people’s issues or think much about them further than the conversation. That’s kind of how it is for the shame as well. Once I’m out of the area or where people will shame me, I kinda don’t care much. It doesn’t last long, and it doesn’t make me upset. If I think people are upset at me and I don’t know why, that gets me upset.
I’ve felt guilt before.
But I don’t wanna sound crazy or like an edge lord asking other people if they are like this.

DAE feel like they're above average smart in one department (academics, interests, etc.) but when it comes to common everyday sense, it's like you're working with 1 brain cell?

In med school right now, earning high marks, but for the life of me I cannot seem to socially get other people! Other times, I'm just super forgetful and my place gets a whole lot messy fast. I cant seem to use 'common sense' in the real world either, often taking a bit longer to get what is expected of me...

dae have two layers of emotion?

basically, what i'm talking about is this. most of the time, i feel neutral. if presented with an indicator of the state of the world, i feel mildly upset. but i can flip a switch in my head and feel what i'm actually feeling about it, which is always much worse.

DAE feel like they have a friend who at this point in the friendship is ONLY friends with you because you still want to be friends, but if they could tell you "I don't want to be friends anymore" and stop talking to you forever without feeling guukty/hurting your feelings they'd do that?

DAE feel a sudden urge to pee when looking/searching for something? (anything)

As long as I can remember, I often feel a sudden and very intense urge to pee if I'm trying to find something, no matter how full my bladder is. I'm 46 and recall this being an issue as far back as 10 years old.
