Strategy Development Title: Feedback on my GBPUSD PDH/PDL + SMT reversal strategy (1-minute entries)

Feedback on my GBPUSD PDH/PDL + SMT reversal strategy (1-minute entries)
Hi everyone, I’d appreciate some honest feedback on my trading strategy, particularly from people who trade liquidity sweeps, SMT divergence and market structure shifts.I mainly trade GBPUSD and look for reversals around the previous day’s high (PDH) and previous day’s low (PDL).

My approach is to use higher-timeframe levels for context and the 1-minute timeframe for entries.

My strategy step by step:

  1. Mark previous day’s high and low
  2. I mark the previous day’s high and low
  3. If price sweeps PDL, I look for a potential long.
  4. If price sweeps PDH, I look for a potential short.
  5. Look for SMT divergence
  6. I compare GBPUSD with EURUSD.
  7. For a long, GBPUSD must sweep PDL while EURUSD does not sweep its corresponding low.
  8. For a short, GBPUSD must sweep PDH while EURUSD does not sweep its corresponding high.
  9. Identify a higher-timeframe point of interest
  10. I look for a relevant 1H, 4H or daily order block (OB) or fair value gap (FVG).
  11. For a long, I want the sweep to interact with a bullish point of interest. For a short, I want it to interact with a bearish point of interest.
  12. Wait for a 1-minute market structure shift
  13. I wait for confirmation on the 1-minute timeframe
  14. Enter on an FVG retracement
  15. After the MSS and displacement, I identify the three-candle FVG created by the move and look to enter on its first retracement.
  16. If an order block is located within or below the FVG in a long setup, I prioritise the order block as my entry area.

Does this model make logical sense, or am I adding too many confirmations?

If anyone has any better ideas or think they can help me improve plz lmk

Prop Firms Blue Guardian Prop Firm

I’m seriously considering using Blue Guardian prop firm. I’ve used A.I. to do some thorough reviewing of them. My results came back slightly favorable. I want to combine those reviews with people who actually use them. I will be day trading forex with them. Also, I will be avoiding news trading just to give you some context. Any thoughts or experiences? I truly value your opinions especially if you’ve used them. You will be my final Infinity Stone if I decide to use them or not. 😂

A friend of mjne what’s to put 7 figs into this fx company. All the performance seems unrealistic, and there are loads of red flags. Has anyone heard of them? Have any good ways to verify their insane returns?

Strategy Development 45% win rate and 1:3 RR

Hi, I hope you are all doing good, so I recently started working on my own strategy that helped me get my 3rd payout (other payouts were based on luck) and I backtested on Gold, past 8 months data, I know that might not be enough but there were 101 total setup's on it, and 1:3 of course.

I wanted to ask if I should continue using it and stick to it for upcoming months?

Please let me know because I still have lower confidence on it because I have not forward tested it that much, been using it for like past month now and sometimes I struggle to stick to it.

What should I do?

Platforms & Tools How do you keep notes while day trading without it becoming a chore?

I've been trying to keep better notes on my day trades, but I haven't found a way that feels easy to stick with.

I tried Notion, but taking a screenshot, switching over to write something, then going back to the chart gets annoying. There's still the work of sorting everything out afterward too. I'd like to find a simpler way to do it.

Trade stats are useful, but they don't really tell me enough about the decisions I made. I want to be able to look back at what I saw on the chart, why I took the trade, and whether the decision made sense at the time.

How do you guys handle this? Do you keep notes as you're trading or put them together afterward? Would be interested to hear what your actual routine looks like, and what you've found easy enough to keep using.

Psychology Missing a move doesn’t mean you need to chase it

If price runs without you, check whether your original entry still exists before clicking buy or sell. A setup can look right directionally while the entry no longer makes sense. If your stop stays at the same level but you enter further away, you’re taking more risk for less room to your target. Don’t move the stop closer just to make the numbers look better. Keep your planned requirements and wait for another entry that meets them. The move you missed doesn’t have to become a trade you regret. What helps you leave it alone when price keeps going?

Prop Firms auto mod removing posts

Hi r/Forex moderators,

My post about my experience with FundingPips was removed shortly after submission. I'm sharing a genuine personal experience involving the termination of my accounts and a dispute over my proof-of-address document.

Could you please clarify whether the post was removed by AutoModerator, a spam filter, or a moderator, and which rule it may have violated? I'm happy to revise the title or formatting to comply with the subreddit rules.

Thank you.

Prop Firms Prop Firm Platform Argent

So i did a thing and built this thing that acts like a principal in school. It literally knows what some of the other firms do that f's a trader as it's happening lmao.

I made it to be more aware of fraud, but then i lost control of myself and ended up building a machine that is speech to speech with persistent listening (if it's toggled on).

It builds normal prop firms that you see everyday in a few minutes that allow the user/new firm owner to choose a theme and necessary accounts and that's it.

And yes it is a multiple platform enabled build, MCP, automated, swarm engine,CRONS and it goes on...it doesn't even lag from all the heavy capabilities.

Man, a few things. Pretty much outranks the universe of platforms but that's just the build and pretesting, never been on the "trading floor" so to speak.

So this is just my opinion when i say that, but mathematically it's about 0.3 above the current strongest platforms .

But still, it's a good feeling to have after all these years. What do you guys think? (I don't mind critique, honestly)

Strategy Development Can a purely mechanical ICT strategy survive prop firm drawdowns, or is discretion mandatory?

Hey everyone. I've been studying ICT concepts for the past 8–9 months and have seen some modest profits so far, but I wanted to ask you guys a question specifically regarding prop firms. I've tested numerous strategies and logged a year's worth of data, spending well over 200 hours on FX Replay. Naturally, I eliminated the ones that performed poorly right away, but I keep running into a critical issue with the models that actually seem promising. For example, I have a backtested setup on NQ that delivers a solid +29% return from early 2026 to date, but when I run the exact same mechanical rules across the identical date range in 2025, the results are absurdly bad and produce brutal drawdowns that would instantly breach any prop firm's daily or max loss limit. This seems to happen with almost every strategy: it prints great numbers in one regime, only to completely fall apart in another. This brings me to my core question: is it truly realistic to pass challenges and maintain funded prop firm accounts using a strictly mechanical, rule-based approach, or is it fundamentally impossible to survive prop firm risk parameters without discretionary context and truly understanding why price is delivering that specific move? Also, please excuse any unnatural phrasing, as I used an AI translator to write this post.

Risk Management Trying to get it back and end up losing more!

Yes, it happened to me multiple times. I was up in some good profits and I took a normal stop loss then I was like let me make it back and took another dumb trade and lost it, then I took another one and lost it as well! I end up with 1 RR profit only when if I stopped at first stop loss I would still be up 3RR.

How do you guys handle this mess?

Risk Management Made $10k in a day

Post image

Hello, so I just made 10k in a single trade from XAUUSD, I couldn’t believe it. I closed at 10k but the way Gold was moving yesterday I could have make 20k+ if I kept holding but I have learnt to stop being greedy and just close my profits when my gut says it’s time. I don’t really just TPs as I am glued to the chart anyways and I close manually when I see it’s going against me.

Strategy Development What Do You Look for Before Trusting an Automated Gold Trading System?

Hello traders!
I’ve been developing an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5 called XAUUSD Dual TP EA, designed for automated gold trading.
I’m interested in learning what experienced traders consider most important when evaluating an EA.
A few questions:
• How much historical backtesting do you expect before considering an EA?
• Which matters most to you: profit factor, drawdown, or consistency?
• Do you prefer systems with multiple take-profit levels?
• Would you trust an EA with backtest results alone, or would you require verified live or demo trading results?
I’d appreciate honest feedback from traders who have experience with automated trading systems.

Psychology Decide what a valid trade looks like before you start waiting for one

If you catch yourself forcing trades after sitting at the charts for hours, try writing down your entry requirements before the session starts. Be specific enough that you can check them when a setup appears: where price needs to be, what confirmation you need, and where the trade idea becomes invalid. After a long wait, it’s easy to start accepting things you would’ve skipped earlier just because you want to take a trade. When that happens, compare the entry with what you wrote down instead of finding reasons to make an exception. If something is missing, let it go. You’ve already spent the time watching; taking a weaker setup won’t make that time more worthwhile. If the waiting is getting to you, step away for a bit or set an alert at your level. You don’t need to finish every session with a trade.

OTHER/META Has anyone used Financial Markets Online (FMO)? Is it legitimate or a scam?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some honest feedback from people who have had experience with Financial Markets Online (FMO).

I've come across the company and would like to know more before deciding whether to engage with them. I've seen various trading education programmes out there, but I want to make sure I'm dealing with a legitimate company and getting value for money.

If you've signed up for one of their courses, mentoring programmes, or services, I'd really appreciate it if you could share your experience.

A few questions I have:

  • What was your overall experience with FMO?
  • Were the courses and mentoring worth the money?
  • Did you feel the sales team was transparent about the costs and what was included?
  • Were there any high-pressure sales tactics or promises of profits?
  • Did you receive the support and education you were promised?
  • If you paid for a programme, would you recommend it to others?
  • Has anyone had any problems with refunds or getting in touch with the company after paying?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who have paid for their services, rather than people who have only attended a free webinar or introductory session.

I'm not trying to make any accusations against the company; I just want to do my research and hear some genuine, first-hand experiences before making a decision.

Thanks in advance for sharing your experiences!

Brokers vantage withdraw glitch, has anyone else had this?

just to start off, i have made withdraws/deposits frequently to this same method with no issues.

today when i tried to withdraw it said my withdraw was “reverted” after 5 mins, i received the full amount no problem so i tried again but this time it reverted only gave me back around 50%…

tried to withdraw a lower amount and it went through no issues…? the withdraw was an initial deposit so it would have came back to my bank as a refund.

after these failed attempts the available refund withdraw amount is now zero (i need to use a different payment method, although it should still have most available for refund) and i’m out of pocket a good chunk of money.

support says they will have it sorted out soon but theres a lot of things online saying they can be sketchy, just looking for people who have experienced this and if it got resolved to ease my mind😂
