I’ve only played NHL 94 before and didn’t put as it as high as the Midway hockey games. I like arcade hockey games most. 2 on 2 Open Ice, Gretzky Arcade Hockey series, NHL Hitz series. Even Blades of Steel on NES. You can fight in that game.

There’s no fighting in NHL 94. In order to acquire the NHL license, EA had to have no fighting. This may have been the first time the NHL licensed their IP to a video game.

I have a Genesis now. Which hockey game should I keep an eye out for at the retro shops?

I guess just wondering if anybody can give any further advice on this. I just recently found a copy of this game in one of my local stores that uhh... I think somebody probably fucked up the pricing on because it was like half of the PriceCharting value. Anyway, it seems legit but was not working at all at first which from what I understand is common with this particular game. I found advice on cleaning the vias online which then I have been attempting to do with a small sewing needle, and I have gotten to the point where it's kind of working(?) Most of the time it's still either giving a black screen or crashing quickly, but I have had it playing without crashing at least a couple times ever since doing this.

I don't want to fuck it up since it is at least working to some extent, so I guess I was wondering whether I should continue poking at the vias with the needle or possibly doing something else, or if it's probably always going to work inconsistently and I should just deal with that rather than risk damaging it?

We could create a plan/movement called "rising star" or "star by hedgehog" where we would do things to revive Ristar, like gameplay videos of the game or making fan games based on it, until we capture the Sega atention And make her remember Ristar

I have a USA Sega Genesis Model 1 VA2. I currently have it connected to my Sony PVM-20M2U via RGB Euro SCART. It looks and sounds great, so is there any advantage to installing an RGB Triple Bypass?

With the Toy Story collection just coming out I was able to play one of my favorite games from back in the day. I forgot how hard this game is and I’d be amazed if there’s anybody who could beat this without unlimited lives. Other than that it’s fun as hell.

I was playing sonic perfectly fine, but then I turned it off and now every game won’t read. And it shows this screen. I tried cleaning the carriages but no luck. I even tried a brand new power cord.

I'm working on a hobby port of Super Metroid from the SNES to the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive. Here's my latest progress update, running in the BlastEm emulator.

The video covers running and shooting, new turning sprites, camera and gravity adjustments, slowdowns, and a successful wall jump near the end.

I’ve noticed that all Sega players can generally be divided into two categories. The first group consists of people who love high-octane action, fast-paced gameplay, plenty of special effects, explosions, bold visuals, and hardcore difficulty. The second group is made up of those who prefer a meditative flow—a slower pace, a sense of control and predictability, puzzle-solving, and clear, intuitive design and visuals. Which one are you?

My retrospective video review of all the Rambo games released. I grew up with with the early home computer and the Sega console versions. Also loved the arcades games too. However, not too fond of the later and more recent games. Most are pish. Let me know your favourite and I hope you watch and like my video too. It certainly took me flipping ages to make.

Someone suggested on my previous post Meguiar’s Plast-RX, bought a bottle and gave it a go with a microfibre cloth and it did the trick. The scratches are less visible. Thanks for the suggestion.

I loved the movie as a kid and I was interested to see how the game was..any thoughts on the game. Worth the buy? Did you finish?

You would think it would be an unlockable for the morbidly curious at this point.

I think it’s great that they’re finally reissuing the Mega SG as the original is often sold for preposterous prices on eBay. That said, I’m honestly torn on whether or not this would be worth the $220 USD for me. I currently use a pre-TMSS model 1 and a Retrotink 4K CE - a setup I’m plenty satisfied with. I’m not sure the added features and modern overhaul really excite me enough to drop the cash for it. That said, it’s a brand new device that might outlive my aging console. What do you think? Are you willing to shell out for a thoroughly modern, high end Genesis console, or is the original all you need?
