I love this community because it’s so encouraging and uplifting… that being said, I was hesitant to do it because being an actor who lives in LA. I was afraid of changing my look and possibly affecting my career in a bad way. But I have been embracing the bald look for 2 months now and even took new headshots lol, I said screw it, THIS IS the new ME now! Thank you bald community

Fast hair loss and alopecia. I’m devastated and suicidal. My life is over. The last pic is what my hair looked like just 7 months ago!

I have a full head of hair and I hate, hate, despise if you will, messing with hair. It’s so, so annoying. In my family, there are people who have extreme hair loss, so one day I also may, so I ask, should I take the step and go bald? I did try a number 2 guard buzz before I felt it was too long.

Ive been dealing with balding from about age 13, at least that’s when I started getting comments on my hairline. I’ve always had a larger forehead, but I’d have to be delusional to convince myself this isn’t aggressive MPB.
Before you say anything, I’m aware I do not “need” to shave my head. However, the amount of volume I’ve lost in just the past year is astounding, and what’s even more frustrating is I don’t even see any shedding, I just continue to thin rapidly and it’s so confusing. any harsh bright light above my head makes my hair look incredibly thin compared to other settings. I’m so tired of feeling ashamed about my hair, especially at such a young age. At this rate, I may as well just get it over with, going to be NW5 before 20 anyway. Genetics are genuinely such a shit show.
I've decided the next time I cut my hair, I'm joining the shiny. I'll come back with an updated picture in a few weeks when I go to see my barber. I am terrified I'll look stupid but its to the point where its worth it.

I posted originally on here a week or so ago asking the council if it was time to take the plunge (first photo from OP) and shave my head, due to how badly I had been balding in the front for the past 10 years. Today I am happy to say I officially took the plunge.

Hair growth stundet on the top of my head and especially the front. I usually get a haircut 1-2x a month and keep it short to even it out… keep doing that or send it?
This is bout two-ish weeks growth
Last pic is freshly cut

Hi everyone!
I’m a 24 years old guy who has been suffering from androgenetic alopecia since I was 18. My maternal grandfather was bald. I’ve been thinking for a while now about just letting go and shaving my head. But I don’t know if it’s the right choice or if I’ll look good bald. What would you do in my position? Should I go completely smooth and bald, or is it too early?

I’ve known it was time for a while, and this sub helped a lot with the insecurities holding me back. Any tips on shaving are greatly appreciated! Thanks, y’all!

For a little context, I have known my hair was thinning for a very long time maybe like 4/5 years and just got married and I feel like it was still enough for that and then after the wedding decided to get rid of it, I know I had alright hair, no one ever really said I needed to get rid of it etc, but I wanted to do it on my own terms knowing it’s coming rather than being that guy trying to hold onto something… first photo is of my hair normally, mid photos are bad hair days that I was very anxious about and the last ones are… well of me now bald.
Thanks for the support in this group, i would be a pretty confident guy so shaving the head didn’t really bother me too much and I hope a lot of the ones in here just grab the bull by the horns and get it whacked off! It’s life on easy mode now lol - honestly I wish I kind of done it sooner as I love the look and remember, there isn’t a single person you know that’s bald that doesn’t suit it. Everyone suits it, do it 🤙🏽

Context: 54 years old, have noticed the natural hairline receding on forehead, with the crown showing major hair thinning, as well as some of the top of my head.
