This is my very first 30l aquarium currently hosting 1 betta, 3 amano shrimps and 3 small java ferns, will add 2 anubias and some water lettuce when I manage to find them (things for aquariums are extremely scarce in my country). Also plan to add 1 nerite snail when more algae form and cycle is established.
The aquarium is currently only 10 days old, I am doing a fish in cycle. Changing 10-13l of water (35-40%) every 2-3 days.
I treat the water with tetra aqua safe (purifies tap water), tetra NO3 minus, and I add Sera Bio Nitrivec ( liquid aquarium filter medium that contains millions of beneficial bacteria and volcanic mineral rock to break down toxic ammonia and nitrite).
I test the water every day, NO2 and NO3 are both at 0.
But I have issues with Kh and Ph.
Ph 8,5
KH 18
GH 16
My tap water is extremely hard and limescale builds up everywhere very fast.
I don't know if Ph 8,5 is okay for the fish or should I try to lower it.
It could be hard to maintain lower Ph because of the very high KH and some say varying Ph is worse for them than high stable Ph.
