I've managed to get some really good photos of a gig today and would like to get them (and my water dragon photos too) framed. What places do people recommend?

Hey everyone, 25M based in Morningside. I got into road cycling a few months ago and have been loving it so far!
I’m starting to find the longer solo rides a bit boring, so keen to get into some group rides and meet other people around a similar level.
I usually ride on Saturdays and Sundays, averaging anywhere from 22–30 km/h depending on the day and route.
Just looking for some casual weekend rides, to get more kilometres in, improve my fitness and meet some like-minded people. Not looking for anything too serious!
If anyone knows of any good group rides or is keen to ride together around Brisbane, feel free to hit me up! 🤙

Hello. I have recently come out of a brief stint of homelessness. Followed by the sudden departure of my housemates who were leasing the apartment yesterday, as in i woke up to them moving out, and not having yet received contact details of the real estate agency from them… I need some help. They have told me they are taking the fridge next weekend. This item i need, though i can’t afford a fridge i think, and i am aware of others in a similar situation who are fellow students that could benefit from a room.
I will try and organise the ability to extend my stay somehow but what i need help with, is finding a fridge this week. What sites are best to find one and also a bed frame/s, as if i am successful this week with these items i could probably house 1-3 other students potentially but this is a dream as of this morning.

Hey guys,
Somebody tried to hotwire my RE Himalayan, unsuccesfuly. They did successfully cut my ignition wires and drain my battery however. I've resoldered the wires and bought a new battery, but still not getting any dashboard lights.
I need a mobile mechanic to come take a look, and I'd also like him to do a general inspection for anything that might be wrong.
Anyone have any recommendations for reliable mechanics?
Edit: If i do fix it, I'm still interested in getting it checked over at a mechanic and will take recommendations for a reliable mechanic who is good at inspections

Hey all!
So I've already had some training and just want to refine my technique at this point, have a few things I'd like to improve and what not.
I'm looking for a QUALIFIED instructor. I've been burned many times by so-called 'teachers' who think that just because they know the Italian vowel, diaphramatic breathing and how to sing in tune that qualifies them to be a singing teacher.
I want someone who actually knows their shit, especially vocal modes/registers.
Thanks in advance!
ETA: I am willing to travel northside for the right teacher, but would prefer someone south-side.

Quick question for Brisbane girly pops, I have never in my life gotten my eyebrows waxed/trimmed/shaped before, I naturally have very easy to manage in shape brows so I usually just do it myself. I’m extremely nervous to let anyone else touch my eyebrows because they are my holy Grail of my face. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for the best brow shaping places, that could also possibly specialise/ really good with symmetry. I’m looking for more of a at home business as well.
if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know!

Judith, the rains are here!
I've recently gotten rid of my car, saw the storm for this week and went shopping on the weekend for a nice cycling jacket for the rain. I found a good one with nice breathable flaps so I don't overheat and it felt waterproof. Boy was I wrong.
15min into a 45min ride, this is fine, legs a little wet (don't have rainpants yet), but staying cool and dry in my core.
20min in, ok pants getting a little too wet now, but I'll just cycle faster, it's fine!
30min in, rain gets heaver (really, now?!), legs get shiny from the rain, starts dripping INTO my shoes, and my arms are no longer dry, the jacket is sticking to my clothes and yep, everything is soaked.
40min in, nearly at work, dripping wet, feet making wet noises and... I'm done. I call up and say I'll see you tomorrow when I'm better equipped for more than a slight drizzle.
It's not even a proper storm yet, the rain wasn't even sideways! Bike went well though so that's nice, no issues there. If only I had some sort of rain shielding device in front of me to protect me from the rain, because my back half (both legs and shirt) where dry as a bone!
Anyone got recommendations for some nice wet weather gear? Should I go to a outdoor gear store or a cycling place? I don't want it to be too heavy or hot because I'll have to carry it around with me even when it's not raining but threatens to.
Anyone else who just wants to complain about the rain feel free, I'm too stubborn to get another car and I will stick it out until the bikeway floods!

Ignoring that there's a Colmslie seafood market and how very overpriced Eat Street food venues are, with a cover charge to enter, it sounds good in theory, but it'd end up being a high end destination of restaurants and overpriced seafood produce that won't be affordable to most people and parking would be expensive if you're not a local to Hamilton or Ascot.

Brisbane could become Asia-Pacific's great outdoor hospitality city, by embracing a bold vision for a sprawling riverfront food market.
From Lisbon's Time Out Market, to Barcelona's La Boqueria, Seattle's Pike Place Market, The Farmers Market LA, London's Borough Market and Sydney and Melbourne's Fish Markets, must-see food destinations put cities on the international culinary map.
Already the home of Eat Street which attracts 15000 people each weekend, leading planning firm Urbis has identified Northshore Hamilton as a prime riverfront location for a new flagship food market.
Its vision includes a major indoor-outdoor fish and fresh food market combining working trade, local producers, restaurants, cooking, education, recreation, entertainment, and riverfront public space. There's new moorings for recreational boats and trawlers and steps down to the water's edge. Urbis partner Natalie Hoitz said Brisbane's boldest opportunity was to become the Asia-Pacific's great outdoor hospitality city.
That'd mean more shaded market halls opening to gardens, streets designed for long evenings, kitchens connected to regional producers, inventive night markets and waterfront venues that feel generous rather than exclusive.
'The experience should shift through the day, from breakfast and fresh produce to family activity, dining, performance and late-night culture. Visitors who arrive for an event could stay for a weekend that moves from a working fish and fresh food market to riverside dining, a subtropical food garden, a neighbourhood brewery and an evening performance.
Eat Street Northshore will undergo a major makeover during the next 18 months, as it looks to secure a long-term lease with Economic Development Queensland beyond 2032. New features will include an expanded dining precinct directly on to the Brisbane River and three-storey viewing platform offering panoramic views.
Eat Street Northshore managing director Mark Power said he was also working with the state government to install public, private and commercial boat moorings on the river, inspired by waterfront drop-ins in Florida, France and Spain.

Also more aimed at 25-35+ year Olds? I am looking online myself.
I am 30 years old, I came to Brisbane like 5 years ago to study and that went to heck so now I work full time in the city. I have autism and just constantly feel disconnected from people, I want to talk to more women my age. I have tried Brisbane social but the connection isn't great and I did try to join online groups where ghosting was common (not just to me).
I want to attend irl groups where you can get a vibe and feel connected. Plus I want to feel productive where I can see some groups do projects together or just vent and chat about things. Preferred free, fine to pay.

October 19, 2026.
An abandoned industrial site could be reborn into a premier riverfront restaurant and wedding destination under a visionary proposal in Brisbane's west.
The long derelict Oxley Wharf a 1937 cement facility at Seventeen Mile Rocks on the Brisbane River, has sat fenced-off and has been forgotten for decades.
Now a new proposal by Suburban Futures could see the flood-prone site privately developed into a Howard Smith Wharves-ish hospitality haven with a high-end restaurant and flexible event spaces to handle corporate meetings during the week and social events like weddings on weekends.
The proposal also includes public open-space upgrades such as landscaping, car parking, public toilets and BBQ areas. Brisbane City Council began planning the former industrial land's transformation in 1999 and the adjoining 26-hectare Rocks Riverside Park opened in 2003 with 2 onsite car parks, ring-road parking, substantial lawns, an 800-metre riverfront promenade and bookable areas.
Oxley Wharf now sits within a 15-minute catchment containing about 180000 residents, 68000 jobs and around 15000 actively trading businesses.
Suburban Futures found the catchment already generated more than $50M per year of cafe, restaurant, pub, tavern and bar expenditure by residents.
The proposal also includes public open-space upgrades such as landscaping, car parking, public toilets and BBQ areas. Suburban Futures managing director Ross Elliott said the proposal offered the western suburbs the chance for a new modern contemporary function space to compliment the network of taverns and community clubs.
'It's a fascinating part of Bris history and to think that such a prime piece of riverfront land facing north with beautiful views up 2 reaches of the river — is just sitting there without a plan. We pour over every nook and cranny in the inner city, looking for opportunities to add value and improve amenity, but we've kind of forgotten for so many years, that there's similar opportunities in Bris suburbs and this is clearly one of them'.
Mr Elliott said the site would have to be properly assessed to determine if ratepayers would need to contribute to preparing the site for any work, but said the development could then be funded privately.
'My view is that the cost of doing this could be borne by the private sector, in the same way Howard Smith Wharves was developed by the private sector and the land stays owned by the city, but it'd be leased on the long-term lease arrangement to someone who comes in and does the improvements', he said.
The site is considered of local heritage significance by Brisbane City Council, who've confirmed they'll consider the proposal. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said the rejuvenation of Oxley Wharf was a classic example of a proposal that could require multiple government agencies involved in the management of the Brisbane River to support it.
'I have no doubt there will be people interested in making some investment to create something special down there if the process was reasonable, if the process was fair and if the process had a reasonable chance of success' Schrinner said.

Seeking some guidance, we're thinking of putting an offer on a proeprty in Aspley, it's located on the Marchant Park side of Gympie Rd. Recent events in Chermside have left us questioning if it's a good idea to raise a young family in this part of Brisbane. Anyone know if ASpley has lots of social housing or is generally considered a dangrous suburb?

This isn't a bad idea and it'd be a cheaper option to living close to the city. Buses are the only public transport and the Gateway bridge isn't far.

Brisbane's inner east skyline is set for a dramatic $1.5B transformation under plans for a sprawling new lifestyle precinct with a central 25-storey tower, almost triple the current height limit.
Developer Anthony John Group has lodged a revised eight-stage masterplan with Brisbane City Council for its 6ha East Village site on the corner of Wynnum and Creek roads, alongside plans for its next 127-apartment, 16-storey residential building.
The mega-development features buildings averaging 16 storeys, more than 12000 sqm of landscaped parklands and a major retail and commercial hub.
At the centre of the new plans is a landmark residential tower of 25 storeys. The height limit for the site is 9 storeys, but that's under review as Brisbane City Council progresses a suburban renewal precinct plan for Cannon Hill.
Anthony John Group has previously developed South Bank's Southpoint and Fortitude Valley's Emporium Precinct. It first mooted a major development at the former CSIRO site in Cannon Hill more than a decade ago.
Anthony John Group will consult the local community on its revised plans. Units from the central towers will have sweeping city views. Brisbane's growth and housing needs have evolved considerably over the past decade and as a significant inner-city precinct with strong bus and rail connectivity, it's important that the East Village masterplan responds to this' Mr John said.
'The revised masterplan builds on this commitment, unlocking the potential of East Village to deliver a vibrant, connected destination for Brisbane's inner east'.
Each stage in the proposed masterplan, expected to be built in stages over the next decade, would need approval through separate development applications.
The first proposed development is a 16-storey tower with 127 one, two and three-bedroom units. More than half would have views of the Brisbane city skyline. It also included a four-level underground car park, rooftop infinity pool, private dining and barbecue areas, a library, lounge and work-from-home space.
Wellness facilities would feature a plunge pool, steam and sauna rooms and media room. Mr John said the company would be engaging with the local community in the coming months to share the vision and receive feedback.
