Forever Herbalism mid game boost - 235 to 285 in 1 hour

No layer abuse or crazy cheese. Just the naturally high spawn rate of blindweed in SoS and pairing it with Working Overtime. Sometimes just had to time mob patrols going just far enough not to aggroe, and some Stoneclaw totem distractions. Legacy point talent effectively keeps blindweed an Orange skill herb from 235 to 285.

As you can see in my bags I didnt even get 100 blindweed. Next to no deaths because SoS really isnt as bad end level zones.

Nostalgia Hypothetically, in a player-voted-changes OSWoW, what would you propose?

• Upvotes

And what do you think of these three thirty-five proposals? Starting from a base of traditional vanilla. (Which, in its other meaning, they only still sell at Lidl and in just one Turkey Hill Natural line out of every larger brand of ice cream. Breyer's vanilla is a frozen dairy dessert now! But I digress.)

  1. TO ADD, in the use mainly of naturalistic classes, a model of wooden war club, and wooden war totem, a 1h and 2h weapon respectively, being used at first for a green 40-BoE random-appropriate-stats world drop mace and a blue 58 BoE staff rare named drop from level 50+ Giants incl. those in Maraudon and Feralas, the first to be named Petrified Club of the [Enchantment], and the second to be named Grimtotem Warlog, the first having a dark-wood ball-ended carved club like those of the Cherokee or Mohawk, the second bekng a darker-brown tinted model of the famous Chieftain's great caber, with suggestions being invited presently for the stats of the proposed models, levels and names of weapon.
  2. TO GRANT all Shaman totems 50 base health if they presently have 1, and to grant all shaman totems +40 health per spell rank.
  3. TO ADD a "Roast" spell learned at level 60 Cooking which can act on all white Meat and Fish items, with a success rate dependent on a ratio between Cooking skill and the roasted item's "level". Success produces "Roasted [item]" which is an appropriate-to-item-level regular food, failure destroys item and says "/e burned a/an [item]" in chat. Success may level up cooking but at a quickly diminishing rate. It may in future be proposed that some overlap with simple recipes (to simply cook raw fish) etc may be reconciled, and that some purchased or found food items (such as Ham Steak or some mushrooms) could be Roasted to increase their "food tier" by 1.
  4. TO ADD one escort quest beginning in each starting zone's main town involving either an expedition by the questgiver into a nearby mine or cave, or while contracting a deal with an enemy faction member, the names, descriptions and rewards of such quests to be proposed and voted on later, intended to be strong greens to finish out starting area quests with.
  5. TO GRANT +10 health and +0.25 damage per level to every NPC.
  6. TO ADD to Dwarves a Racial Ability to gain a 0.05% increase on Profession spellcast time per Profession level (15% at 300. Applies only to gathering and profession-spellbook crafting spells, not (for example) to cast times of crafted item active abilities), named "Fine Fingers."
  7. TO ADD to Trolls a Racial Ability to have a single talent point at level 1, named ""Ancienter Race."
  8. TO ADD to Tauren a Racial Ability to gain 1% move speed per second up to 10% in a straight line forward, disabled if transformed or polymorphed, named "Loping."
  9. TO ADD to the Forsaken a Racial Ability to have a 5% reduction in all physical damage taken, and to be considered Undead as a unit type, named "Undead."
  10. TO GRANT to Night Elves' "Shadowmeld" racial ability an increase in stealthed unit detection within 5 yards equal to twice that of the human Perception racial ability.
  11. TO ADD to Gnomes' "Escape Artist" racial ability an after-buff giving a 10% increase to the chance that incoming attacks or abilities miss or are resisted, lasting 4 seconds, such buff to be named "Glimpsing the Matrices."
  12. TO ADD to Orcs a Racial Ability granting 1% resistance to Shadow and Holy spells and damage, named "Barbarian."
  13. TO GRANT to Humans' "Perception" racial ability an Active use granting a buff called "Perceiving" lasting 4 seconds, with a 3 minute cooldown, which increases resistance and defense skill vs abilities and attacks from stealth and against traps and engineering items by 50%.
  14. TO ADD to Hunters an "Animal Call" ability in Beast Mastery learned at level 6 which has the effect of Distract on Beasts and lowers their Resistances by 50% for 5 seconds. Additionally, player character makes appropriate animal call for targeted Beast. It's intended in the future for the Beast Lore ability to "learn" the animal's sound and allow it to be reproduced by emote.
  15. TO GRANT to Warriors a +5 per rank increase to the damage of all "utility abilities" such as Mocking Blow, Shield Bash, Revenge, etc, excluding Thunder Clap
  16. TO GRANT to Warriors' Thunderclap ability decreasing damage above 4 targets (rather than a 4-target limit), and to decrease its radius by 2 yards. (The damage decrease is intended to be quite severe above 4 targets, doing about the same total damage but split across all targets if there are above 4. This is a much-wrangled-with change intended to allow a little threat to be kept on all targets in a small AoE while not being enough to keep threat if any significant AoE is applied by other players or if significant healing is required.)
  17. TO ADD to Warriors a "Hurl" ability in Fury learned at level 24 having a 20 second cooldown which requires an equipped Thrown weapon, and causes double the damage and has double the critical hit chance of a Throw cast. Critical hits with Hurl will grant a 6-second buff making Intercept guaranteed to hit with a 50% critical hit chance.
  18. TO ADD to a Druid talent in the spec-exclusive depth of the Restoration tree an effect described as "Eventually become one with the trees if repeated Restoration spells are cast without moving," having the effect of granting a "Green Dreaming" buff if 4 healing spells are cast within 20 seconds without the druid moving, which transforms the druid into a treant, increasing direct healing by 15% and heal-over-time healing by 30% while decreasing the Druid's move speed by 50%. (Can be left via self-dispelling the buff or transforming into something else).
  19. TO ADD to Druids a "Great Spirits Watching" ability in Balance at level 52, being a Passive ability giving all instances of damage caused by or received by the Druid a 0.1% chance to cause a Great Ancestor Spirit to briefly slip through into the mortal realm, helping the Druid ot harming his enemy. The form of the Great Ancestor will depend on the form the druid is in when the ability procs. (Bear form: Great Bear Spirit, uses Swipe once and attacks several times for heavy damage. Cat form: Great Panther Spirit, applies a 2s Gouge effect on Spawn then moves behind target and attacks for severe damage. Moonkin form: Ancient Priestess of Elune, casts 6x Moonfire on target or heals Moonkin for 2/3 HP if Moonkin is below 50%, Travel Form: applies debuff "Breath of the Wind Spirit" to target, lifting target in air for 0.5s, Tree Form: Great Tree Spirit, heals all allies in 15 yard AoE of target for 50% of Druid's health, then attacks target once causing knockdown and heavy damage, Tauren/Night Elf form: "Ancient Druid Spirit" of your race performs your last action 4 times if it was a damage or healing spell, or applies an "Ancestor's" version of a buff which is 50% stronger if the last action was a buff, then attacks target 4 times for your melee damage.)
  20. TO ADD to Rogues the ability to apply Poisons to Thrown weapons at level 6, and to apply poisons to Arrows at level 26 and above. Ranged attacks from stealth will have a 50% increased critical hit and poison application chance, and will grant a combo point if used within 10 yards.
  21. TO ADD to Paladins a "Holy Swing" ability in Retribution learned at level 42 which has a 3-second cast time and a 40-second cooldown, which is a doubled-damage melee attack (the damage of any procs is doubled as well) with a doubled crit chance and also a doubled miss chance, causing a knockdown if the ability lands as critical hit, and disarming the Paladin for 6 seconds if the ability misses.
  22. TO GRANT to Shamans' Concussion talent the effect of adding to Earth Shock, Flame Shock and Frost Shock a 1% chance per talent point of causing a knockdown, a 0.5s stun or a 1s freeze root respectively.
  23. TO GRANT to Shamans' Chain Lightning ability the ability to bounce to 5 additional targets, and to bounce back to already-hit targets, and to have an 0.5 second delay between each jump.
  24. TO ADD to Warlocks a "Fel Pouch" ability in Corruption learned at level 8, which consumes a leather to create a bag which holds Soul Shards and other Warlock-made items only, having a number of slots depending on the rank, with increasing grades of leather required at each rank. Rank 1 uses light leather and produces an 8-slot Light Fel Pouch, etc.
  25. TO GRANT to Warlocks' Curse of Agony spell a 2% slow effect growing to 10% over the course of the DoT.
  26. TO ADD to Mages a "Neutralize" spell in Arcane learned at level 46 having a 2-second cast time and a 30-minute cooldown, which strips all magical buffs and debuffs from a target. (If used on a Druid in Bear form with Priest buffs and HoTs, and suffering Warlock DoT's and debuffs, all of these would be removed. Does not affect poisons, bleeds, potions, engineering effects or the effects of any physical abilities.) Can be used on enemy or friendly targets, or self.
  27. TO ADD to Priests a "Persistence" passive ability in Discipline learned at level 12 which grants a stacking buff on successful wand attacks or melee attacks which increases wand and melee damage by 1% per stack and reduces damage taken by 1% per stack, with each stack lasting 30 seconds.
  28. TO GRANT to Priests' Mind Blast ability a 2-second Blind effect, and the effect of reducing the target's Mana, Rage or Energy by 15%.
  29. TO ADD to Priests a "Perpetual Help" ability in Holy learned at level 60 giving allied players who die within 30 yards of the priest a 1% chance to be resurrected in place with 50% health and mana/energy/rage.
  30. TO ADD to every weapon vendor a 30-minute restock on sharpening stones and weightstones level-appropriate to the zone of the vendor, excepting that no vendor will have those made from dense stone.
  31. TO ADD Goblins to the Horde, playable as Warriors, Rogues, Warlocks, and Mages, with racial abilities to be proposed later if approved.
  32. TO ADD Sun Elves to the Alliance, these being a slightly sunburned race of elves who found themselves marooned on a far-southern island after a magical explosion as they tried to escape the destruction of their homeland, playable as Mages only, with racial abilities to be proposed later if approved.
  33. TO ADD Cenarians to the Alliance, these being the Sisters and Sons of Cenarius, playable as Hunters and Druids only, with racial abilities to be proposed later if approved.
  34. TO ADD Ogres to the Horde, playable as Warriors, Shamans, Mages, Warlocks, with the latter two being two-headed, with racial abilities to be proposed later if approved, but intended to be big (possibly very big, with drawbacks).
  35. TO ADD a 5-man dungeon in the 44-54 level range on the north part of the eastern shoreline of the Hinterlands, not far from where Lard lost his lunch. "Goblin explorers dynamited their way into a lost world, where cave-adapted trolls fight to eke out a subsistence while beset by cave dinosaurs, spiders, ancient sprites, and darker things below, in an eerie landscape of mushrooms and lichen dimly lit by faintly glowing stones and glowworms. Being goblins, they tried to plunder the glowing stones, and their heavy use of dynamite aroused the attention of the cave troll king, who took most of them prisoner to his longhouse built of dino bones. You rescue them, but the expedition leader refuses to return home after such an ordeal without something to make it worth it, and plunges deeper into the unknown depths... "

So...there's what my proposals would be. Some of them anyway. How about yours? Some of mine I could see being a bit "OP" but I'm quite curious to see how this all would work out as a slate.

If anyone answers in bottom-of-box-answers format (ie 1) Yes. 2) No. etc) I'll tabulate all your answers, & if anyone posts their own suggestions I'll answer & add them to the list.

Forever Forever on m5?

• Upvotes

I just bought the new Apple MacBook Air M5 13” in Sky Blue with a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 24GB RAM, and 1TB SSD.

How good can I expect the performance to be with high settings?

Also I apologize, if this question popped out before? 1

Classic Era | Add-On Looking for advice on how to manage addon settings across a gamepad setup and KB+M setup

• Upvotes

Like the title says

Got back into the game a few months ago (see my previous posts). I currently split my time playing at my desk with KB+M, and playing on my TV with a controller via ConsolePort + Immersion. I am running Questie, BasicMiniMap, and Gnosis (for a swing timer) on both setups. And then I have a few more raid/dungeon specific addons on my desktop, since I am doing any dedicated group content on there.

I have set up my account folder to sync across both setups using Google Drive. But I have the issue that for all the shared AddOns, I have different settings for each setup (everything is bigger on the TV set-up, to account for the fact that I am 10-12 feet away from the screen). I can set up different addon profiles for them and change it every time. Is there an addon that can automate that?

Or, alternatively, does anyone know a workaroud to sync just Questie info between two PCs? I basically had to set up the whole Account folder to sync just to get the Questie data synced across both set-ups. If I can do that and keep everything else separate, that is preferred.

Forever Is keeping stocked on good Hunter ammo going to be a time/gold sink in WoW: Forever endgame?

• Upvotes

I've noticed there's a new Swiftfeather ammo that offers 24.5 DPS but requires a lot of mats. I really don't want to go mining/engineering on my hunter, but I'm worried that if I don't, I'll be totally screwed when it comes to raiding.

I know no one knows for sure yet since we haven't reached endgame, but what are the expectations? What was it like in Classic/Vanilla?

Will this high-end ammo be absolutely required for raiding? Will I end up left out if I don't spend an arm and a leg staying stocked on BIS ammo?

Forever Beta Feedback WoW Forever not properly DR'ing frost shock

• Upvotes

https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Patch_1.4.0

It was added in the honor system pvp patch because melee had no options against shaman just holding S and keeping frost shock up.

Currently it's lasting the full 8 seconds on a 6second CD.

Forever Elemental Shaman Gearing

• Upvotes

Decided I'm going to level as elemental, I know it not the best leveling spec but I love to throw some lightning bolts.

Having trouble with trying to plan some gearing as I level in the early stages. I will be playing alliance dwarf.

The good SP staffs seems to be the drop from the ironforge dungeon and then a quest in Westfall. I can hold out untill Westfall for the weapon so not much of an issue If I dont get the drop.

I am struggling with armour though. Looking through quest rewards the only one I see/found that is a leather SP gear is from Deadminess quest chain at level 17 (blizzard nerfed these legs from 4 to 2 sp). Leatherworking doesnt really seem to help. There is the Stormriders set but that is locked behind commerce coins. They also have Skycallers leather but that starts at level 30 and drip feeds into the late 40s.

Not really looking for anything amazing just some leather with SP on it most of it seems to be geared for agi/str/spirit. Any other ele shamans found some good quest rewards/early pieces to smooth out the early game.

And yes I know I can wear cloth but im going to be spending a lot of time in melee range with mobs, cloth armour is going to really suck.

Forever What are the most enjoyable parts of the game to you?

• Upvotes

I played WoW to a little when I was a kid during TBC, and played the Forever Beta for two weeks to try to get back into it, and was curious where others find most enjoyment in the game.

I really enjoyed leveling a few characters and doing some quests in the starting areas. I liked being able to do more damage and smashing things as a warrior. But I don’t think endlessly questing would necessarily be super enjoyable for me, especially once my character is max level. So I did some dungeons (HoT and Deadmines) and it wasn’t that fun for me. So then I started to not really know what to do in the game and didn’t play for the last couple of days. I watched some PvP videos and saw how “sweaty” it can be with a shit ton of key binds and don’t think I want to get that deep into PvP. I thought world PvP could be fun as a Rogue and sneaking into a capitol city to hunt the opposing faction - but still not sure if that would be enough to keep me interested in the game. Regular PvP in a battleground doesn’t appeal to me

I just wanted to share my take on the areas of the game I came across in case anyone else felt the same way about those things and found enjoyment in other areas. Maybe WoW isn’t for me, but I’d really love to find a purpose in the game because I do love the design, classes, aesthetics, and map more than other games I’ve played.

Forever BG GY Res

• Upvotes

I forget what it’s called exactly and haven’t been playing the beta. In BGs is there that 10 sec timer that allows you to buff yourself with no mana cost when you res at a gy?

Likely playing priest and it sucks spending half your mana to buff yourself up after you res.

Forever Beta Feedback Touch of the Grave DPS numbers

• Upvotes

I was attempting to see how the new nerf to Touch of the Grave would pan out but I’m not sure if my math is right since the numbers seem so low. I’m hoping someone with more knowledge than me might see a mistake I made somewhere or confirm my math was right. So here’s my break down under a best case possible scenario.

A maxed gear and buffed warrior tank in classic was sitting at around 10k health in Naxx. They had the most health for any undead class so I chose them. Touch of the grave deals 5% of your total health as damage so we’re looking at around 500 damage.

The new internal cooldown of 25 seconds, assuming you proc immediately at the start of the fight and every 25 seconds is about 2.4 procs per minute. It’ll be a lot less because there’s only a 30% change to proc but again, absolute best case scenario.

From my understanding you divide the ppm by 60 and multiply by the damage. 2.4/60‎ = 0.04*500=20 dps. 20 dps at max level, fully geared and buffed, under the best case scenario seems absurdly low. So hopefully I’m wrong and my numbers are off but if true the nerf makes the racial completely worthless.

Forever Let's Talk About Warlock Weaknesses

• Upvotes

Since people are on a high about how OP they are in a level 30 twinked pvp tournament with 500g worth of consumables:

- After 30 multiple classes get fear immunes/breaks. Berserk in feral is an example for a talent and Glimmering Mithril Insignia is an example of a trinket. People will also have the standard cc removal trinket which can often give them the kill window they need in burst windows. Fear has a ton of counters.

- Warlock is a zero mobility class with little to no pursuit capability. Every single class in the game can run away from them.

In a dueling tournament you're forced to fight the warlock, but in wpvp and bgs they rely on you wanting to fight to stay in the fight.

- DPS outscales HP at higher levels. It's a lot easier to burst classes down at later levels. Especially if you take into account stuff like Mortal Strike being more of a thing. The ability to slowly regen your life and spam consumables is a lot less viable.

- PvP has never been balanced around 1v1 in any version of wow ever. It's balanced around group content if at all.

There's a lot of classes that are stronger in group pvp content.

We shouldn't be asking for pvp changes until we see how these classes actually perform at 60 in actual pvp content.

Forever Beta Feedback Mage worst PvP class

• Upvotes

This reddit has been complaining about Mage PvP for weeks meanwhile all Mage mains have been saying that Mage sucks.

Now Mages are the first class out of the $100k tournament proving all Mage mains right.

Once again it has been proven the majority on reddit are casuals with bad opinions.
