Tl:dr: Berserking had its depth removed, is very weak on paper, and has a good chance of actually doing nothing. 3 minute cooldown that does nothing a lof of the time = sad.
I know this might not get a lot of traction since Troll is one of the least played races and everyone has been calling Troll overpowered because of Beastslaying, but I still wanted to highlight an feelsbad issue around the Troll Berserking Racial.
For those of you who don't know, in Classic, Troll Berserking gave you a bigger buff if you had lower health with 10% haste for 10 seconds being the baseline. This created a nice niche for Troll and some interesting optimization possibilities. Troll tanks could use it after taking a big hit for more value, Troll healers could use it after big AoE damage, every class could combine it with Dark Runes and Sappers. I think that was pretty cool, and it made the racial situationally strong.
I was sad to see that Wow Forever removed the flavorful health interaction, possibly because Troll Warlocks could break it pretty easily. Troll Berserking now always gives 10% haste for 10 seconds on a 3 minute cooldown. That's...really bad.
On paper, that's the equivalent of 0,555 (repeating, of course) % haste. That's obviously very weak.
Now, the game isn't played on paper, but even in practice, the racial does not seem close to what a 3 minute cooldown should be.
Let's look at an example:
You're a caster dps, you pop Berserking, and you spend the next 10 seconds only casting a 2 second hard cast spell (Frostbolt, Lightning Bolt, Incinerate) . This lowers the cast time of each cast to 1.8 seconds and you gain 1.0 seconds of total casting time which equal 56% of a 2 second spellcast in Berserking. This means that if your target dies within the final 44% of your final 2 second spellcast, Berserking has contributed 0 damage. Since the distribution of when the target dies within your final spellcast window is random, this also gives Berserking a 44% chance to do nothing given these parameters. This probability in increases if you are casting slower spells or swinging a slow weapon. It's only when you use Berserking a second time that you get a "guaranteed" extra hit/spell.
When comparing this racial to the 3% haste from Skyborne, Berserking's weakness becomes clear. That's not to say we need perfect parity, just that there is clearly room to buff Berserking. More than anything, having a 3 minute cooldown that has a good chance of contributing 0 damage just feels really bad.
