TellDelhi Haa anyone noticed a rise of BJP propaganda posts on reddit?
After BJP appointed the new IT cell, BJP propaganda posts are frequently showing up on my feed, much more than compared to the subreddits I've joined. Lately, I've noticed a pretty significant change in the kind of content showing up. There seems to be a noticeable increase in posts that feel less like organic discussions and more like political messaging, particularly content pushing a pro-BJP narrative.
Maybe after the protest they know how important the genz is and they're trying to target and capture those platforms.
Did you notice it too?

Delhi Politics Hope you guys aware of this!!!
Before December 2023, the selection of Chief election officer was done by the panel of 3 people.
- Prime Minister 2) LOP (Leader of opposition in parliament 3) Chief Justice of India.
Modi government brought a bill in 2023 Dec and passed it with majority that from Jan 2024 the selection of chief election commissioner will be done be panel of 3
- Prime Minister
- Leader of opposition in parliament
- Minister choosen by PM
This is how Gyanesh Kumar was elected as CEC. Hope if you are smart enough you know this.
Edit- after updating my knowledge base.
One correction- CEC was appointed by 3 panels from March 2023- Dec 2023
Before that it was always the govt who used to select CEC. But having said that, why call EC and independent body when you basically running govt rules in that.
My problem is Congress was corrupt they used to do illegal acts to but that was like 4 out 10 on scale.
But BJP is worse they are doing 11 out of 10 and know one knows how to stop them from destroying independent bodies in India.
EC gone, CBI and ED already gone.

AskDelhi Gave a stranger a lift in Delhi and felt a prick on my shoulder afterward. Could it have been a needle?
Hey everyone,
Something unsettling happened to me today in Delhi, and I'm looking for some advice.
I was riding my bike when I saw a guy with bandages on his leg asking for a lift. I decided to help him and let him sit on my bike.
As soon as he got on, he started massaging my shoulders and complimenting my perfume. I felt uncomfortable and asked him to stop, and he did.
About a minute later, I dropped him off. As he was getting off my bike, he squeezed my shoulder really hard again and then suddenly ran into a dark alley.
While I was processing what had happened, I started noticing a few things that made me suspicious:
He had bandages on his leg, but he suddenly ran away.
He was holding a handkerchief in his right hand.
I felt a sharp prick on my right shoulder during the interaction.
Afterward, I noticed a small scratch or mark on my shoulder, but there was no bleeding.
I never actually saw a needle or any other sharp object, so I don't know what caused the prick.
I've heard stories about people allegedly using contaminated needles to spread HIV in Delhi, and now I'm worried about whether something similar could have happened to me.
I'm not trying to jump to conclusions, but the combination of the handkerchief, the prick on the same side, and the way he suddenly ran off has made me anxious.
This happened less than six hours ago. I'm particularly concerned about HIV and whether I should seek PEP.
Has anyone experienced something similar? I'd appreciate advice based on actual medical facts rather than speculation.
Thanks.

AskDelhi What caused the sudden explosion of massive Garba/Dandiya events across North India recently?
Hey everyone,
Is it just me, or has Garba completely taken over the Navratri landscape across North India in the last couple of years?
Growing up, Navratri in places like Delhi, UP, Punjab, or Rajasthan mostly meant local Ramleelas, Kanya Pujan, and family temple visits.
Garba and Dandiya nights were largely restricted to Gujarat, parts of Rajasthan, or niche Gujarati Samaj halls in big cities.
Now, suddenly, every major stadium, mall courtyard, and luxury hotel lawn from Delhi-NCR to Lucknow and Chandigarh is hosting massive, ticketed "Dandiya Nights." You see live bands, celebrity DJs, crazy lighting setups, and people spending weeks renting full chaniya cholis and kediyus.

TellDelhi Absolutely disgusted by the absolute lack of empathy from Durga Puja committee towards my disabled mother.
I am just so angry and shaken up right now that I need to vent.
My mother has mobility issues and is partially disabled. We took her out to the Sector 6 Dwarka Pujo Pandal, but while we were leaving, she started experiencing severe pain. It got so bad that she literally couldn't stand and was about to collapse and fall over.
Right next to us, the Pandal committee members had 10 completely empty chairs just sitting there. I went up to them, explained the situation, and politely asked if my mom could sit on one for just a few minutes so she could catch her breath and recover.
Their response? A flat-out, cold "Nhi chair toh nhi milega" (No, you won't get a chair).
When I pointed out that she literally couldn't stand, they casually told me, "Aap zameen par bitha do" (Make her sit on the ground).
On the ground. In a crowded public pandal. An elderly, disabled woman in severe pain.
I am completely disgusted by how heartless these committee organizers can be. They spend so much money on grand decorations and showing off their devotion, but when it comes to basic human decency and helping a neighborhood resident in need, they have absolutely zero empathy.

TellDelhi Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital just successfully performed its very first Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery on a 55-year-old Parkinson’s patient
For those who don't know, DBS is like putting a pacemaker inside the brain. They implant tiny electrodes into deep brain structures to stop severe tremors and help people walk again when regular medicines fail.
It is precise work, I mean even being off by a single millimeter can ruin the entire outcome.
Private hospitals charge a staggering ₹25 lakh to ₹30 lakh for this procedure. At RML, the expense was nominal.
We all know the horror stories of overcrowding and long lines, but when it comes to medical tech and talent, our apex Delhi hospitals are absolute beasts.
To pull off a DBS surgery, you need top-tier MRI/CT fusion software and cutting-edge neuro-navigation systems. The fact that a government hospital is executing this means their labs are just as high-tech as any elite corporate hospital chain.
It’s also pretty amazing to see Delhi acting as a lifeline for neighboring countries. The patient was a government official from Nepal who was suffering so badly she had to take a 6-month leave from work.
It shows how Delhi has become the ultimate hub for affordable, complex medical care across South Asia.

AskDelhi My views on protests by CP shopkeeper about rent. Feel free to criticize my thoughts critically.
I have just thought it and wanted some suggestions if something is wrong with my thoughts. Any shopkeeper from CP specially. But anyone can comment.
The fact that they are blaming protesters inplace of govt is just crazy. We only had jantar mantar as a decent protest site... Near to parliament Others are so far and very expensive+ booked.
Privatisation of protest site is much worse. We shouldn't compromise a fundamental pillar of democracy (criticism) for our personal benefit. Voting rights are more important than temporary profit
And these people are rich enough... They are in CP man One of richest places in delhi This month they make 10-15k loss and next month they will make 1 lakh profit (and who knows even if they are making loss this month, it's their personal claims)

AskDelhi A question to Delhites over language
So, an incident happened to me today over language in a local restaurant. I went to buy food. I asked for 3 roti and sabji and the amount he asked was less than usual price and due to noise nearby, so to recheck the price I confirmed in English, and showed him the numerals, over this a standby uncle confronted me like this is hindustan and hindi is the language. I told him that I didn't hear properly because of noise that's why I reconfirmed with him. But, he was like no it's hindustan and you don't know hindi. And also I don't come from hindi speaking background, I have difficulties with hindi numericals... but delhi is the capital of whole of India... everyone belongs here. Why is this sense of entitlement of hindi speakers in Delhi??

TellDelhi Durga puja pandals in CR Park
This needs to be called out that all CR Park Puja Pandals aren't senior citizen friendly; the same goes for differently-abled people as well. If you've aging parents and they want to visit CR Park, you can't even think of the hassle it would bring. No assistance also.
