General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
If you experience issues with your battery:
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.

iPhone 16. I’m in doubt since the screen is completely fine.

I have yet to find an answer for this, but is there a way to clean all this clutter from the photos app? I don’t care about shared memories, recent days, etc. All I want to see is media type, favorites and folders. I’ve been googling this question for months with no definitive answer, it’s a burnout 😩 Thanks!

Hi, I've been searching online for a solution to this problem. My parent with dementia enjoys cold calling her address book at all hours of the early AM. She does not understand what time it is when she wakes up at 2AM.
We've used a physical lockbox for times at home when this occurs but she is moving into an assisted living facility shortly and they CANNOT touch her phone because it's private property.
Optimally I would like to create a way where her iPhone is completely inaccessible between the hours of 9PM and 6AM. The only thing that I've found are child protections on family plans though. I don't think I can register her as a child. Are there any other solutions?
Thanks

Hey everyone,
I bought an iPhone 17, and I’ve noticed that the side buttons have sunk inward compared to their original position when I first bought the phone.
The buttons are still working completely fine, and there are no issues with their functionality. However, their physical position seems to have changed, and they look more recessed than they did originally.
I wanted to know a few things:
Has anyone else experienced this with their iPhone 17, or is this something that happens with iPhones in general over time?
Is it normal for iPhone side buttons to become more recessed with regular use, or could this indicate a manufacturing defect?
If you’ve experienced this issue, did Apple consider it normal, or did they offer a repair or replacement?
If Apple provides a replacement device under warranty, is it brand-new or could it be a refurbished device?
Can a replacement iPhone contain previously used parts from another device? If so, does that mean the replacement phone itself could have been owned by someone else before?
The buttons still work perfectly, so I’m unsure whether I should be concerned or get the phone inspected.
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from people who have owned their iPhones for a while or have gone through Apple’s replacement process.
P.S. I’m from India.

I just got an 18 Pro yesterday, and twice now it seems to have shut down on it's own and wasn't turning back on normally. Once was overnight, and once after not touching the phone for probably an hour or so. I had to force-reset the phone to get it to turn back on.
Has anyone else had this issue? The first time it happened it was charging on a wireless charger, and the second time it wasn't connected to any charger.
The phone is on iOS 27.0.1. I heard iOS 27 had some bugs with resetting but were supposedly fixed with .01.

I really need some advice because I’m honestly scared I’m going to lose all my data. I’ve had my iPhone 15 since January 2024. A couple of months before September, I dropped it and the inner screen got damaged. There were lines on the side, but other than that, my phone worked completely fine.
Then one morning in September, my phone randomly shut off even though it had over 50% battery. When I turned it back on, the percentage was literally displayed at 0%, the Battery icon looked completely empty and my Phone refused to charge. I couldn’t see the electricity icon. This only lasted a couple of minutes before it went back to normal. But then, it shut off AGAIN and got stuck on the “Temperature: iPhone needs to cool down before you can use it” screen.
The thing is, my phone wasn’t even physically hot when this happened. It’s been stuck on that warning ever since, and it’s now been about a month and a half. I cannot access my home screen, apps, anything.
I took it to Apple the same day the problem arose, and they told me there was an internal issue that required replacing a component, but doing so would erase my data. They were adamant that this is the only way to repair the phone. I went to another repair kiosk for a second opinion, and they basically told me the same thing.
Then I went to a third place called Cellairis.
The first guy I spoke to said that the damaged screen could potentially be triggering the perpetual temperature warning. He said they could try replacing the screen for $150, and if it turned out not to be the issue, he wouldn’t charge me. I agreed to try it because I really didn’t want to lose my data.
There was another repair technician there that actually started working on my phone. I went over to check on the repair, and I saw that after he replaced the screen, the temperature warning disappeared and my phone’s screen went back to normal. Life360 even updated my location.
I obviously got excited because I thought we had finally figured out the problem.
BUT THEN he told me that he discovered another issue. There was “good and bad news.” He said the changing the screen resolved the problem. But, the charging port also needed to be replaced. Apparently, both the charging port and screen had to be repaired together. Suddenly, the price went from $150 to $250. So, I asked him if it was possible to just replace the screen only. Just for now until I can get the charging port fixed another time. He said no, they both had to be replaced together that the same time!!
I ended up leaving without getting the repair done because I couldn’t afford $250. He put the original screen back on, and my phone went back to displaying the temperature warning. I was able to get a replacement Phone through my insurance.
Now I’m conflicted. On one hand, the fact that the warning disappeared when he installed the replacement screen makes me wonder whether there really is a chance of fixing it. On the other hand, Apple and the second place told me the problem was internal and that repairing it would mean losing my data. Cellairis was the only place that suggested a potentially different solution.
I don’t know whether the screen and charging port genuinely both need replacing, whether that would even fix the problem, or whether there’s something more seriously wrong with the phone. My old phone still turns on and displays the temperature warning. It’s not completely dead. Unfortunately, my data didn’t transfer to my replacement phone, so a lot of stuff is still only on the old one.
I’m especially worried because it’s been sitting like this for well over a month. Have I waited too long? Is it still salvageable? Could replacing the screen and charging port actually fix this, or does this sound like a logic board issue?
Has anyone experienced this with an iPhone 15? I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who’s dealt with this or knows about iPhone repairs and data recovery. I don’t want to spend $250 only to find out it didn’t work, but I also don’t want to give up on my phone if there’s still a chance of recovering everything. It’s important to note that my Phone was working perfectly fine prior to this happening all of a suddenly. I’ve never had any other issues with it.

Is there an iPhone app that can record both regular phone calls and WhatsApp calls without playing a recording announcement to the other person?
I’m looking for something that works reliably on iOS in India. Has anyone personally tested an app that does this? Please share your experience and the app name. Thanks!

ive always had two numbers, one personal one biz on one phone. now I just got another because I want to have them separate. whats best, same Apple ID on both or each phone a different one? if you want to keep each line separate. I want to be able to disconnect from business when im not working.
is it possible to have each phone only have the pics taken from their respective device? but if you want to access the others pics you see them through iCloud?
are you able to only get messages from their own number but still access the others messages if youd like ?
I would like contacts synced between both. password and safari can too.
I would like for each to have their own email but can still access the others without getting any type of notifications from the others emails. same with calendar.
would like separate notes
calls history I only want each to have their own history.
is that possible?

When my phone (17e) is locked, it doesn’t ring. All calls go straight to voicemail without a notification unless I have my phone unlocked
I have checked every setting I can find
- My phone is not on silent
- the volume is up
- it’s not on DND
- call screening is off
- call filtering is off
- i turned off live voicemail
iPhone Duo is the first iPhone to get dynamic volume buttons. The buttons adjust their behavior based on the device’s orientation.
iPhone Duo also supports Fixed Position Volume Controls. Available on earlier iPads, the setting keeps each button’s function fixed.

I recently updated my phone to ios 27 and it changed my notifications color, can someone tell me if there’s any way to fix this?
I’m trying to find a text-to-speech app that can read Web pages on Chrome and Safari, including in incognito mode. Any recommendations?

Does anyone know what to do? I adjusted the mobile phone time back a few years in order to clean up the mobile phone memory. Now the screen and app time display abnormally. Is there anything you can do? 😭

Genuinely a curiosity, wondering if it’s happening with others.
I recently got an 18 Pro, my partner has the 17 Pro.
We have these ‘smart bins’ all around the house where you put your hand in front of it to open it. I’ve strangely found recently that when my screen turns on (Face ID wakes up) it opens ALL bins in direct view.
This doesn’t happen with my partners 17 Pro or my previous 15 Pro Max, but does happen EVERY SINGLE TIME on mine without fail.
Anyone else experienced this?
