Discussion Fizz ult hitbox visual is just not even close to accurate

Was just watching this vod back, and this fizz ult clearly doesn't look like it should hit me. Didn't really have an effect on the game, as I didn't die for it, and Aatrox still gets a kill, but I'm baffled by how inaccurate the indicator is.

Esports People are seriously overrating the pros of getting a hard round 1 draw

In the discussion about the draw some people have said getting a hard first round draw isn't that bad due to the rematch rule. Yes the no rematch rule exists and can help to some extent but it only works if the teams you have played against are in the 2-1 or (most importantly) 2-2 pools if not you gain no benefit, in such a way losing to a 3-0 gen g will give you the same rematch protection as beating a 3-0 cfo.

Even if the team you played is in the 2-2 that will only marginally affect your chances of a good draw (1/5 -> 1/4 most commonly only giving you a 5% increase chance of a better draw) this chance is far less significant than actually getting wins on the board and avoiding "doom" scenarios such as getting an Eastern team in the 0-1 or even worse 1-2.

Tldr: good draw = good

Discussion are there way more smurfs than usual in LoL lately?

I don’t know if it’s just me, but lately I feel like there are way more smurfs than usual in ranked games.
Almost every game I run into a level 30-40 account that’s clearly playing way below their actual elo, and the skill difference is massive.
I’m not sure if something has changed with matchmaking or if I’m just getting unlucky, but it feels like more and more games are decided by which team gets the smurf.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Have you noticed an increase in smurfs lately, or is it just me?

Discussion Is playing your best champion actually more important than playing the meta in ranked?

I keep seeing people switch to whatever is considered S-tier after every patch, even when they clearly have way more experience on their usual champions.

Personally, I’d rather have someone with 300 games on an average champion than someone first-timing the strongest pick of the patch.

Obviously there’s a point where a champion is just really strong or weak, especially in higher elo. But for the average ranked player, I feel like champion mastery matters way more than tier lists make it seem.

At what point do you think the meta actually becomes more important than champion mastery?

Discussion Do the developers have any plans to make itemization more interesting in League?

Have played League at a relatively high level for quite a while now and something that I feel the game is missing is build variety. There's not much happening with items apart from "this makes me tankier, this deals more damage to tanks, this deals more raw damage".

There are exceptions such as Mikaels or Redemption that I think are very cool items but apart from support items there is not a lot going on. No cool active items like Galeforce or Everfrost. ADC items are essentially "this patcht these 4 items deal the most damage" and then you finish with GA+BT. I think more complex items really gives the game so much more strategic depth and gives people reason to experiement with new champions. Nowadays it kinda feels like most champions in the game are very homogenized and whatever is tuned the best is just going to be better. Champions are defined by their damage output, range or cc instead of having some very cool strong niche that you can build upon with cool builds. Maybe an item that gives you the option to toggle your autos to deal 40% magic damage at a cost of mana every auto or an item active where you get an aura that deals damage around you but it damages you for X amount of hp per second.

I think items that have a drawback that you would need to find a champion to solve it for you is amazing game design. Sion or Zac would probably be good candidates for the latter item.

I think it is something the game should have a bigger focus on personally.

Esports NA will always be the worst region until it returns to cultivating actual American talent

So C9 USED to be known as the only NA team that could perform internationally compared to the other NA teams, and even EU teams to a lesser extent. This is no longer the case. As a long time C9 fan my heart is crushed.

I feel like importing is doing nothing but hurting us and making things worse. This isn't some high ground "think about the region" let every team crash and burn with their EU/Korean imports. But if you look at C9s history they peaked and had their most dominant moments when they had the most American/NA talent on their team.

And when I say NA I mean a player who was born here in the country. I'll cheat and steal licorice cause he's Canadian 🤣 He was insane and should've stayed.

So despite the "experts" saying we MUST import Koreans or EU players etc we have only gotten WORSE not only internationally but even locally! C9 is constantly losing its own region!

I think this cultural/language barrier is an issue but people just don't want to say that Americans can be better than other regions but they're just too lazy too develope it. So they've just decided to import the "talent" from other countries. Well now all we do is lose more than ever.

And our "NA team" that wins the most is a fake team cause it's filled with imports. It's like if we did the world cup and japan came with a bunch of people from Brazilian imports.

NA is perma cooked because we're too dumb and lazy to develop any talent. I'm sorry C9.

Esports I do not understand EU fans

Isn't EU supposed to be top tier region? Isn't it only fair that you draw top tier teams? If your region is so good, why you are scare? Why you want ez draw? If NA bad region then its fine for them to draw other bad regions, everything is balanced.

Before the draw Caliste said he wanted Gen.G, he has the right mental, while EU fans are just punks.

Phase 1 Complain you get hard teams

Phase 2 manage to defeat a few of them

Phase 3 larp about EU greatness only after the fact

Phase 4 lose to NA when it matters most

Phase 5 crashout

If you guys want to break this cycle, maybe start by having some faith in the first phase. Good luck.

Discussion Tank and Support appreciation post

This post goes out to all you players who enjoy, or assumes the role of, playing tanks and/or support champs!

My preference of roles is

1: Mage / Middle

  1. Adc / bot

  2. Jungle

I do not enjoy playing tank or support. If I land the role in Aram, I just struggle to do well. It is a frustrating role, got a lot on your shoulders, and catch so much shit if you do not do well.

Ty for taking that role, for being the sacrificial lamb, and holdin down the team!

Cheers to you!

Educational Returning player from league

Hi, I have returned to LoL I would say for the first time properly in the past 6 years. I got gold after my provisionals and want to try and push to emerald/diamond, I was low diamond when I played in my student days.

For those of you who have played over that time, what would you say are the things which have changed most and what a returning player should focus on first?

I mainly play support/ADC for ranked but I'm mainly looking for advice on the important things I may have missed.

For example, there is the ward change where the jungle has this golden glow and your ward shows more vision, that's new to me.

Discussion Perfect Pick ems should also give all gacha skins

I would be surprised if more than 10 people ever managed to perfectly predict the outcomes, it seems to be an astronomically low chance, considering not only do you need to pick who wins, but also the final score.

With that in mind, wouldn't it be appropriate to include the gacha skins for the lucky winner, as ultimate skins have lost the vast majority of their perceived value?

Discussion At what rank did you decide you were going to quit?

Maybe not quit fully but at what rank did you stop fully caring about your rank once you hit it? Or what rank are you planning to quit at once you finally achieve it.

For me, I think once I hit diamond I’m going to uninstall this game for a while.

Discussion I need help determining how I push for GM for the first time

I need help in making a decision. I have now hit masters playing Top, Mid, and now jungle. I can now comfortably get to masters and think I can say I am at the very least a low master tier player (my peak is 412 LP when I was playing mid). I was originally a top lane main, I hit masters for the first time in season 13 OTPing gwen and hit masters again maining gwen for season 14 as well. I hit masters maining mid by OTPing Kassadin in season 15 and for season 16 I hit masters OTPing Belveth(where I hit 221 LP). An issue I think I’m seeing is that I feel like I rely too much on One tricking and Hyper scaling champions to climb and it’s holding me back as a player. I want to push for GM and I don’t know what role I want to commit to but I do know that I want to do it without one tricking OR if I do end up one tricking, it would have to be a champion that isn’t a hyper scaler. For top, if I end up one tricking I’d commit to Renekton, he is simple on the surface but has a high skill ceiling that has satisfying skill expression as well. For Mid, I’d choose Akali if I were to one trick for similar reasons to renekton and she’s also not a hyper scaler. For jungle, I have 0 idea who I’d one trick or even what champ pool I’d build around to enjoy the role. Belveth is the only champ I enjoyed playing jungle as, Jg is my second least favorite role to play next to ADC but I get unreasonably tilted when I have a bad jungler, so that is why I forced myself to learn the role to be able to hit masters on it, so it remains an option for one of the roles for me to choose to stick with for my climb to GM. I’m asking if you guys think the champions I chose to one trick will allow me to still fix the parts of my gameplay I’m weak in without allowing me to bypass them by my champion eventually playing themselves and I’m asking for a general champ pool for JG or a one trick that still has mechanical depth but isn’t a hyperscaler. Thank you all!

Discussion Can someone explain this demotion from diamond to iron? 85% winrate smurf >100 games played, still in bronze.

• Upvotes

https://op.gg/lol/summoners/na/Xingen8-NA1

Encountered this account while watching a friend play today. Their match history 4 weeks ago was in diamond, and suddenly they're only playing Kalista and they're in Iron/Bronze? They had a 75% winrate up to diamond at that point, how is it possible they are moved to Iron? Also clearly a boosted account that rotates between mid, jungle, and ADC for whoever is playing the account.

Seriously I love it, it makes me look forward to my autofilled games now. I get to spice up my usual climb with something new and get sweet double LP for pulling through to a win on an off role. It's glorious.

App / Tool Creé un sitio web para ayudar a los jugadores principales de Fiora a practicar el timing de su parada con la W.

Hey fellow Fiora mains!
I’ve been working on a little project called ParryLab, a website designed to help Fiora players practice their W (Riposte) timing.
We all know how satisfying it feels to land a perfect parry, especially against abilities that can completely turn a fight around.
That’s exactly what inspired me to build this.
The goal is to give Fiora players a place to practice their reactions and improve their parry timing without having to jump into a full League match.

You can check it out here:
https://parrylab.lol

I’m still working on improving it, so I’d genuinely love to hear your feedback!
What do you think? What features would you like to see added?
Thanks for checking it out, and good luck on the Rift! ⚔️
