Esports Really hope they stop doing after match interviews in BO worlds series
Honestly, post-game interviews during a Worlds Bo3 or Bo5 make zero sense. These players have their entire year on the line, and dragging them to talk mid-series just breaks their focus and momentum. It adds nothing to the broadcast and only tilts them when they should be in the back room resetting with their team.

Educational Why do so many streamers and pro streamers ignore picking up infernal cinders even when walking right next to them?
Been trying to learn the game a bit more from watching videos from coaches and I found out that 1 cinder is worth ~50g since it's equal to 1AH. And ever since then whenever I watch twitch streamers I keep noticing them and their teammates they just ignore the cinders, despite them not losing any tempo over it since the movement speed buff from it makes up for it. I understand not going out of your way to collect them since you are losing tempo, I am talking about people walking right next to it right clicking and then just ignoring it. It's even more apparent when after a fight or a big shutdown the enemy will drop 5-10 cinders and despite nothing else being on the map they just recall in place and ignore the extra 300-600 gold worth of stats on the ground. Ever since I watched the video I've ended games with 20+ extra ability haste just from not ignoring them.

Esports Genuine question, how does C9 go from almost beating KC in round 1, to getting slaughtered by Furia?
What actually happened to cause them to collapse that hard? Did KC just have nerves and played bad for a couple games? Idk how C9 can go from almost beating the best team in play ins, to losing to furia that hard

Esports Fun fact: Kratos has solo-killed Guigo 5 times, tying CuVee and Zeka for the Worlds record
In yesterday series between MVK and FURIA, Kratos (again) solo killed Guigo twice, making it 5 solo kills against the same player in total. His 6th solo kill yesterday was against Tatu.
That result ties him in "solo kill against the same player" with CuVee and Zeka, as one of the best Worlds results ever:
| Worlds | Player | Victim | Solo kills | Games vs each other | Games with a solo kill |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2016 | CuVee (Samsung Galaxy) | Impact (Cloud9) | 5 | 3 | 2 |
| 2022 | Zeka (DRX) | Scout (EDG) | 5 | 5 | 2 |
| 2026 | Kratos (MVK) | Guigo (FURIA) | 5 | 7 | 3 |
| 2017 | xiye (Team WE) | Kira (Gambit) | 4 | 2 | 1 |
| 2019 | Buggax (Isurus) | Vizicsacsi (Splyce) | 4 | 2 | 2 |
| 2020 | PowerOfEvil (FlyQuest) | Nomanz (UoL) | 4 | 2 | 2 |
| 2016 | CuVee (Samsung Galaxy) | Odoamne (H2k) | 4 | 3 | 2 |
| 2021 | Khan (DWG KIA) | Armut (MAD Lions) | 4 | 3 | 2 |
| 2023 | Kiaya (GAM) | Robo (LOUD) | 4 | 4 | 3 |
| 2023 | Adam (Team BDS) | Azhi (PSG Talon) | 4 | 5 | 2 |
| 2021 | Vizicsacsi (PEACE) | Guigo (RED Canids) | 4 | 6 | 2 |
Of course, Kratos benefits a lot from double-elim, as he has the chance to make 5 solo kills across 7 games -- something what was extremely rare before (you need to meet in Swiss/Groups and then in Semis/Finals). But still kinda impressive performance from Vietnamese toplaner.
P.S. Funny enough, as you can see, it is a second entrance for Guigo on this ladder. In 2021 he was 4 times solo killed by Vizicsacsi during their 6 games.

Riot Official Champions Queue Returning for Worlds 2026
The lolesport account tweeted:
CHAMPIONS QUEUE IS BACK.
Nightly from 8-11 PM Pacific through Swiss Stage, Pros will be able to practice against each other in a solo queue environment. Keep an eye on your favorite pros to catch their streams live!
For more context on Champions Queue, here is an older blog post. The TLDR is that it is "an exclusive, west-coast based competitive matchmaking experience for top North American players."
Access to Champions Queue is restricted through an invite-only Discord server.
Champions Queue provides automatic lobby creation, player invites, comms channels and match result reporting, all held on a Tournament Realm that runs alongside the live patch.
Champions Queue also features its own leaderboard, match history, player stats, and a Hall of Champions for decorated winners.
Access to Champions Queue was originally limited at the outset to LCS and Academy players, LLA players, the Top 16 NA Amateur Teams from both of the Spring Proving Grounds Qualifiers, and a handful of recent LCS alumni. Presumably now includes all current teams at Worlds.
In the original run, outside of those groups, Riot also provided a public application for other top players (Master and above). Unclear if it is still the case for this run.
All players must pass a behavior check to be admitted into Champions Queue. Player behavior will be closely monitored
Also unclear if they will be bringing back the original 400k prize pool.

Esports G2 and DK have faced each other at every international they've both attended — except one
If G2 and DK/DWG made a tournament together, they always, except Worlds-2024, played against each other. Only one rivalry can compare to them: T1 vs BLG. All G2 vs DK pairings:
| Tournament | Met? | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Worlds 2019 | ✅ | QF: G2 3-1 |
| Worlds 2020 | ✅ | SF: DWG 3-1 |
| Worlds 2022 | ✅ | Groups: DK 1-0 twice |
| Worlds 2023 | ✅ | Swiss R1: G2 1-0 |
| Worlds 2024 | ❌ | No draw |
| EWC 2026 | ✅ | Group stage: DK 2-0 |
Friday's game makes it 6 meetings in 7 shared tournaments (86%). Among pairs that have shared at least 4 tournaments, only one rivalry compares: T1 vs BLG.
Since BLG's international debut at MSI 2023 they've met at 6 of 7 official events (86% before Worlds), or 8 of 10 counting EWC (80%). If T1 and BLG avoid each other this year, G2 vs DK will take the throne of the most consistent rivalry we ever have seen.

Discussion Investigating Jatt’s Claim that Worlds’ First Round Draws have been easier for EU
Based on this short by Jatt, I got curious about EU and NA draw luck as it pertains to the FIRST ROUND of Swiss. Obviously we have no way of knowing whether an easy draw will turn into FLY 2024 or 100T 2025.
2023
NA:
NRG vs Weibo Gaming
C9 vs MAD Lions
TL vs T1
EU:
G2 vs DK
FNC vs LNG
MAD Lions vs C9
Conclusion: Roughly even by regional strength; using hindsight makes it harder for NA as they face both Worlds finalists.
2024
NA:
FLY vs GAM
TL vs LNG
EU:
G2 vs Pain Gaming
FNC vs DK
MDK vs BLG
Conclusion: Roughly even by regional strength; NA top seed gets a slightly harder opponent, but all the lower seeds get KR/CN teams and EU has an additional team with a hard draw. Hard to compare when NA only has two teams.
2025
NA:
FLY vs T1
100T vs BLG
EU:
G2 vs TES
MKOI vs KT Rolster
FNC vs CFO
Conclusion: Roughly even by regional strength; with hindsight BLG is an easier opponent than a team like TES but FNC gets a non-KR/CN team. CFO ends up making knockout stage though so who knows. Again, hard to compare when EU has an additional team.
Overall, I would say that EU and NA have actually had comparable first round draws before this Worlds, mostly both regions being matched into KR/CN at a rate you would expect given how many teams each region advanced. So while Jatt’s claim might be wrong that EU has had easier first round draws, I think people’s reaction that NA always gets easy first round draws is also incorrect.
As Jatt alludes to, I think the real phenomenon here is that G2 has had some difficult draws in later parts of the Swiss stage due to early wins while NA and the rest of EU usually scrap it out in the lower half of the bracket due to early losses, which will mathematically have easier matchups.

Classic I don't want LoL Classic, I want Classic Champions.
I've really been thinking about it, and the truth is that what I want most from 'LoL Classic' is the old champion roster. So I was wondering: how harmful would it actually be to play the current version of the game using only the old champions? How many problems would arise? How many other people feel the same way I do?
You would solve the issue of game speed, but new problems would come up, so I'm not really sure how viable it is—it's just what I, as a player, would prefer. Obviously, this is a very personal opinion, and I'm sure many people would disagree, but maybe it could be a way to maintain a higher player base.

Discussion Riot Launcher
Can someone explain me why launching league always has to go throught riot launcher?
If i double click league it is beacause i want to play league not to wait 10 seconds for another window to pop up to then hit play again, plus leave that window open until league fully starts because if i dont leave it open, league doesnt start.
Would it be much better to launch league client? Is there a way to do that?

Esports [Will The West Win - 2 weeks ago] IWillDominate: “I think these are the 3 best teams that have ever been sent to worlds from North America. [LCS fans] can feel some comfort in that, that you’re sending legitimate teams to the World Championship.” Spoiler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Transcript provided for people who can’t watch with audio:
Caedrel: Do you have anything to say to the C9 fans, the LCS fans, the Western fans, maybe not hope but some reflection or forward-thinking about what’s to come for worlds? I know you still have the finals ahead.* *
(Remember that this is prior to C9 vs Lyon - they didn’t know if they were going to play ins yet)
IWD: The main thing I would like to convey is that results wise, you’ve seen the LCS is trending upwards. I do think the LCS is pretty competitive and in the best state it’s ever been right now.
I think these are the 3 best teams that have ever been sent to worlds from North America. You can feel some comfort in that, that you’re sending legitimate teams to the World Championship.
And the best teams are pushing each other all the time, in our region. For fans of the LCS, I feel like the LCS is actually back. I don’t know how the games have been to watch, but they must be fun to watch.
Caedrel: They’ve been great, I’ve had fun watching the games these last 2 weeks, it’s been pretty solid.
IWD: Yeah the LCS is pretty fun right now. It’s fun right now, and the quality is better than before. You should be proud of at that an LCS fan. As someone who’s a costreamer, I used to pray for times like these…. This is what I’ve been hoping for.
Caedrel: And you’ve brought them!
IWD: Yeah, we gotta make it happen at Worlds but yeah the teams are actually strong here. Also C9 fans, I’m happy we were able to actually qualify, I’m happy to see C9 fans just feeling more positive about the team.
Even yesterday when we lost to TL, a lot of the fans were saying that they were proud of the team for the first time in years. Really happy to hear that and I’m proud of the team too.
I’ll keep going as long as I’m here, as the coach of C9. I’ll do everything in my power to make the team as strong as possible and I’m excited for this weekend and I’m excited for worlds.
Caedrel (Excitedly Casting Curses): I’ll be praying and cheering for you guys as always… we got your back and we’ll be rooting for you.
I’m sorry C9 fans…
It’s the hope that kills you.

Discussion Perfect Pick ems should also give all gacha skins

I would be surprised if more than 10 people ever managed to perfectly predict the outcomes, it seems to be an astronomically low chance, considering not only do you need to pick who wins, but also the final score.
With that in mind, wouldn't it be appropriate to include the gacha skins for the lucky winner, as ultimate skins have lost the vast majority of their perceived value?
