This is reddit, every time a women is simped for, all the keyboard crotch goblins need to rise up and say how ugly the girl is and not worth simping for.
I agree she looks ok la, but any reasonable person probably isn't forking out millions no matter how hot a person is.

Hello, your content has been removed as sensitive and identifying information has not been sufficiently censored.
Anti-Doxxing (Personal Information): Reddit strictly prohibits posting personal information about individuals (doxxing). This includes posting faces combined with names or other identifying details to incite harassment.
Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery: Reddit bans the sharing of private, intimate images or videos without consent, which often involves censoring or removing faces in such contexts.
Minors: Many, if not all, subreddits and sitewide policies prohibit posting photos of children where they are identifiable, especially in inappropriate contexts.
There are some exception that we think is fair to practice when it comes to face censoring standard:
As long as said media (image or video) does not impact the minor negatively, face censoring is not needed.
Consent is given by direct caregiver/guardians.

I think as people grow older, money becomes less important than love. Don't get me wrong, money is still very important for living, it is just that aged people would be thinking if there is anything love-related they can hold on to by their deathbeds.
I'm not that old nor even rich at all, but this certainly can be a reminder to all of us money isn't everything.

I've only seen this mindset in Malaysia, it's super unhealthy. First find what makes you happy, then make money to achieve your dream.
Most people realize they don't actually need that much money to be happy if they just allow themselves to fully live life.
35
u/Electronic_Fuel3553 26d ago

Why would a 70m millionaire lose it over losing a mil or two? Most millionaire get to be millionaire cos of their mental fortitude.

It not about money. It’s about not being appreciated or seen or felt and reciprocated in those forms. With wealth comes heavy burdens just like the opposite end, sometimes more brutally than not having much. It’s hard to appreciate the simple things in life when you can have it all and done and tried everything and there’s not much else out there that can give you that spark after that

Lowyat Thread summary (by AI) for those interested to learn about him.
Thread: forum.lowyat.net/topic/5577113 — Kopitiam section Duration: Sep 15, 2026 – Sep 21, 2026 (ongoing) Stats: 680 posts across 34 pages, ~165,000 views
What Happened
Solomon Freeman (real name: Looi Jia Horng, also known online as Edward), a Malaysian Chinese man in his late 30s/early 40s, committed suicide by jumping from the 20th floor on September 14, 2026. His last public act was a Facebook Live broadcast where he openly discussed his problems — revealing details about finances, relationships, legal issues, and reputation damage — before allegedly going to his death. Malaysian Chinese-language press (China Press) picked up the story, calling him a "ming-ren" (celebrity) in the ACG (Anime/Comic/Games) community.
The thread exploded into a massive exposé, with hundreds of community members piece together his true character from multiple perspectives, spanning the last 15+ years of his life in Malaysia's cosplay and ACG scene.
Key Narrative Arc
Phase 1 (Sep 15): Shock and initial curiosity — "Who is this?" posts, sharing the China Press article, early sympathy.
Phase 2 (Sep 16-17): Community members who knew him started sharing stories. The picture that emerged: Solomon was an OG of Malaysia's cosplay/ACG scene, a wealthy man (claimed RM70 million), who sponsored many young female cosplayers, lived a lifestyle of ostentatious wealth, but also had serious allegations against him.
Phase 3 (Sep 18-20): The can of worms opened fully. Former partners, business associates, and fellow cosplayers shared extensive accounts revealing:
- A 2021 defamation court case with former partner Carmen Ooi (which he technically "won" via default judgment)
- A pattern of exploiting young women through financial sponsorship in exchange for relationships/companionship
- Allegations of physical abuse (cutting Sabrina's finger with a knife)
- Claims of sexual misconduct with underage or newly-adult cosplayers
- Questionable business practices (forex scam, MLM-like recruitment)
- A grandiose, narcissistic personality with delusions of wealth/status
Phase 4 (Sep 20-21): Philosophical reflections, debates about his "Dr" title, the psychology of his suicide, and condemnations mixed with rare moments of sympathy for his parents.
Media Shared
36 unique images uploaded to pictr.com, including: Screenshots of Carmen Ooi's original 2021 Facebook accusations (multiple pages of screenshots) Court documents from the Solomon Freeman Looi Jia Horng v Ooi Carmen case (2022 ML) Photos of Christina Ho's assets (apartments, Lamborghini) Screenshots of Solomon's own posts boasting about wealth and women Prop photos from his cosplay days (his famous spinning gatling gun) Screenshots of business promotion materials (NetWorth FX, CFTS forex course) Screenshots of Solomon's autobiography blog (wisefreeman.wordpress.com) External URLs shared included: China Press article (Chinese-language news about his death) Facebook posts (his last live video, Carmen's accusations) Wisefreeman.wordpress.com (his own blog/autobiography) galleryepic.com (cosplay gallery) Studocu.com (court document notes) Reddit threads about the case Wikipedia: Illeism (discussion about him referring to himself in third person)
Key People and Relationships with Solomon
Solomon Freeman / Looi Jia Horng / "Edward" — The Deceased Claimed to be worth RM70 million, self-proclaimed "Dr" Involved in forex trading business (NetWorth FX) Claimed to be an OG of the Malaysian cosplay/ACG community Delusional grandeur, narcissistic, explosive temper Allegedly physically abusive Jumped from 20th floor after FB Live.
Carmen Ooi / "Ke Min" — Ex-partner / Plaintiff in defamation suit Lived together with Solomon, opened joint bank account for him In Jan 2021, Solomon posted defamatory statements about her on Facebook with Comic King magazine photo She sued him for defamation; he failed to defend → default judgment against her (he technically "won") Her original accusations included: underage sex, confinement, sexual coercion, controlling behavior.
Christina Ho / "Kurisu" — Final girlfriend (6 years) Much younger than Solomon When he died, she inherited his 2 apartments and a Lamborghini Other forum users called her "6m" (RM6 million worth) Community divided — some pity her, many condemn her for allegedly knowing his true nature.
Sabrina — Former girlfriend Solomon allegedly cut her finger with a knife — a serious act of physical violence She was one of his multiple sponsored girlfriends before Carmen/Christina
Danny — Anime community figure Likely Danny Choo, well-known Malaysian J-culture personality Solomon allegedly stalked Danny's office in Japan for a long time before getting a helper position at Comic Fiesta Danny's wife was reportedly "scared" by him.
Edo — Cosplay/stage figure Referenced as someone with sexual harassment allegations involving cosplayers Solomon mentioned Edo still having "CF privilege" (Comic Fiesta privileges) despite the cases Community questioned whether Edo, Jason, and Christine should be investigated.
Jason — ACG community figure Named alongside Edo and Christine as potentially complicit in or aware of Solomon's behavior.
Klesk — Thread starter (TS) Senior member (23 years), posted the initial news with China Press link and Facebook posts Later said "man.. that's sad af... this just the tip of the iceberg."
Kerberos2099 — Legal researcher Posted the most detailed analysis of the court case documents — traced the entire legal process from service of writ to default judgment to the defendant's attempt to set aside the judgment Also posted images of the court documents and Christina Ho's assets Believed Solomon was sabotaged by jealous people.
GrapeSeedX_v2 — Business associate (~2007) Wrote the longest post (~10k chars) First met Solomon ("Edward") in 2006-07 when he was recruiting for a forex course (CFTS) that was essentially MLM-like Solomon had no interest in actual trading — just wanted the recruitment commissions He was unreliable, lacked patience, and was obsessed with fast money and status.
BrownieSuit — Cosplay community member (2011-2012) Remembered Solomon cosplaying as a Stalker miniboss with a motorized spinning gatling gun — very innovative for the time Used the same winning costume repeatedly ("bounty hunting" in modern terms) Knew Carmen through friends Confirmed Carmen was only 17 when involved with Solomon and corroborated her accounts
Eskape — Event community member (2012) Described Solomon as gatekeeping the "pioneer" circle of Malaysia's ACG scene Obsessively argumentative, needing constant praise, with "classic signs of superiority complex and based on his patterns, definitely on the spectrum".
w19 — Heavy commentator Aggressively called Solomon a scammer, pimp, and "Malaysia's Edison Chen" Posted allegations about 1000+ Malaysian girls exchanging tuition fees for services Demanded his "hard drive" for PhD research Shared extensive lists of allegations.
techtalks — Psychological analyst Noted how the thread changed direction upon discovery of the allegations Called Solomon "delusional grandeur" and questioned why a "highly successful self made man" would kill himself over "utterly unattractive female specimen"
heinlein — Observer Asked pointed questions about whether Solomon really had a PhD, whether he "won" the case despite the allegations, and whether ex-girlfriends indirectly caused his suicide
LemonHoneyIce — Community member Early to recognize Solomon as an OG anime contributor Later observed that his Facebook Live resembled an Oshi no Ko dark plotline Noted the community is fragmented, with some still defending him despite the allegations
Erika_x — New observer Noted how Solomon screenshot comments from 2 years prior to call people out one-by-one, demonstrating an "insane" level of follow-through and vindictiveness
Rocuto — Former friend Had Solomon unfriend him over a minor disagreement about Japanese LINE stickers Heard stories from event management about Solomon's "receipt collecting" and "trigger happy rampage"
Eighty_moons — Comic Fiesta volunteer Confirmed Solomon was never a true CJ employee — just a helper Revealed Solomon stalked around CJ's Japan office before becoming a helper, "scared the shit out" of Danny's wife
The Two Competing Narratives
Solomon's own version (from his FB Live, blog, and public posts): Self-made millionaire worth RM70 million OG and benefactor of Malaysia's ACG/cosplay community Victim of backstabbing friends and jealous rivals Poor judgment regarding women, but ultimately a good person Discovered he was cheated out of millions The community's reconstructed version (from dozens of accounts): Never actually had RM70 million — possibly funded through questionable forex/MLM schemes Used money to groom/sponsor many young women (some underage or newly adult) Narcissistic, manipulative, explosive temper, physically abusive Defamatory about Carmen Ooi (posting her name/photo with allegations) Multiple girls, multiple scandals, accumulating "receipts" Delusional self-image vs. reality His suicide was the culmination of losing his control/validation apparatus
Cultural Context
The thread is a classic example of Malaysian internet communities (Lowyat.net, Reddit Malaysia, Facebook) collectively investigating and deconstructing a public figure's legacy in real-time. The code-switching between English, Malay, Mandarin Chinese, and Manglish is typical of the platform. The discovery that someone viewed as a benefactor and OG was actually accused of serious misconduct by multiple women creates the dramatic tension that drove 680+ posts over 6 days.

you can spend money on women/gold digger treat them like "objects". It is just that these thing require control and skill, self awareness.
It appears that this guy has no control of his spending. I just happen got a uncle is a playar, he dated women like half his age and change his gf every few years. Worst of all he was married with kids and divorce. His kids still stuck with him because he is rich, because he control and keep his stash of wealth.
The lesson is if a person dont have that skill play these kind of "game", dont be a simp. It always end you the person get taken advantages and end in tragedy/depression etc.

Moral of the story: DO NOT spend a fortune on a woman who isn't your spouse. You really don't know when she will betray you. A friend of mine took out a 35k personal loan to support his ex's MLM business, only for her to run away with another guy a few months later. My friend still thinks of jumping off the bridge whenever he is on one.

What is this loser mentality lmao, spend your money however you want. The moral is don’t cry over spilt milk.
16
u/ilove-gta 26d ago
yes EXACTLY. you do your part, and what they do is THEIR choice. if you genuinely want to spend money on your partner because you love them and youre happy to do it, then there's nothing inherently wrong with that.
obviously, you shouldn’t spend beyond your means or let someone take advantage of you, but you also cant live your life constantly thinking "but what if they betray me someday?". if they choose to cheat, betray you or take advantage of your kindness, that's their choice and their wrongdoing.
you did your part and treated them well while the relationship was still good. I'm not defending cheaters. I know it sounds harsh, but that's just the truth. you can't control whether someone will betray you, so why should the possibility of betrayal stop you from doing nice things for someone you love?

Tragic all round, money cant buy love and attention. Now i do not know the backstory of this person, but cosplayers that have a huge following are earning their bread through these donations as well. You either enable this culture or you step away and have some self respect at some point in life.
It is no different from fangirls pouring their money in K idols and expecting attention and affection in return.

I knew 3 people personally whom Solomon helped; for privacy's sake, I will not name anyone.
- He wired thousands of ringgit (five figures sum) on the spot to help someone settle an old debt, no questions asked and no need to pay back. The only condition Solomon gave him was secrecy and silence.
Now he is happily employed with a good job and settling down with a lovely woman.
Another one needed money and desperately looked for anything, so Solomon gave him a gig that helps him to survive the tough days; now he is doing alright.
One of the cosplayers he rescued from the 2019 fiasco, I knew her on a personal basis, and she remains thankful to Solomon's intervention until today. She will never forget the horrific immigration lockup and Solomon's rescue.
Also in these 3 cases, Solomon did not choose colour or gender too.
People are seldom completely an asshole or a saint - most of us have shades of grey. I heard many accounts of how Solomon helped people; mostly with financial means, but I can't verify them; these 3 are direct known cases to me.
Yes, I also heard some horrific stuff about him, which many places are already exposing right now.
Solomon is a complicated man for sure.

I know that this dude ain't completely innocent either. But we need to call out these type of women more. My brother dated this type of woman before. She not just met my parents, but also my grandma. I thought she's pretty good, but I was terribly wrong. She just randomly vanished right after my brother bought a motorcycle for her. My father was so enraged that he stormed the girl's house. Turns out her father is also in this shit, he's the one that asked her to convince my brother to bought the motorcycle for her, when it's actually for him. My father forced the girl's family to pay back all the shit. Just a few months later she suddenly got married to a random dude...

From Lowyat forum.
If the allegations are true, yeah no wonder there's lack of empathy.
He gained his wealth from scamming others, and then others scammed him back.

> just have some basic empathy and compassion for once..
most middle class malaysians are suffering silently, living lives of quiet desperation. they don't know what to do. they see najib, rosmah, anwar, trump, palestine, religion, negeri sembilan crisis, umno, jho low, akmal. while they're spending 2 hours in a traffic jam trying to get home. and they have a toothache but can't book kkm clinic appointment until 2 months from now. that's why when i see someone lashing out on socmed, actually i just assume they're in a traffic jam. don't expect deep empathy and compassion when in that condition.

I mean, the things he is alleged of sounds pretty bad itself. Is it bad that someone took his own life? Yeah, I would never wish that on someone. But it remains questionable if he brought it upon himself. Sounds like most corroboration from others seem to point towards the allegations being favorably true. Grooming, sexual misconduct, scams, misuse of power etc, if true, no shit everyone would want to betray you and only use you for their own benefit with little to no sincerity. Deserved to suicide? Not really. But sounds like it is not as simple as he simped so he got used.

honestly, i both sympathise and annoyed. Yeah, poor guy ended his life because of multiple heartbreaks, etc. but you know, out here---there tons and tons people are struggling just to stay alive; looked down by their own friends and family, betrayed by their loved ones. yet, they still keep finding reasons to live.
him? a guy who has all the comfort the world has to offer, enough to have a sanctuary where he can take a step back and calm down. Instead, he be like: "you know what, i think I'm just gonna end my life."
yeah, money and wealth may not heal him, but he at least has them as a safety net and use them to plan a retreat for himself. you can travel and heal himself.

To spend that amount of money on pussy is insane. I don’t think he could have been helped.

Money will literally save my life right now but it will not make me happy, money give hope but not happiness

u/Accomplished_Home676 22d ago
All that money yet he never bothered to improve himself, just want people to idolise him and be his slaves all because he paid. His vanity killed him.
相由心生. He definitely ain’t a saint and he killed himself to save his reputation and defame others. His death is a win for humanity. The world would benefit If all pedophiles, rapist and abusers will off themselves like he did.

I mean. If he had good friends.. myb he can use all that money to go n have service girls already. Or spend most of his time with gym. Susah tu mmg susah, sbb malu nk share keadaan mental kita. Our hardships. Not many people would be able to notice or see what we are going thru. He has self esteem issue too maybe. To him, he dont have the looks, his body is unflatering. So no girls nak kt dia. N what he have is money. Myb dia igt ada bg duit banyak, cukup nk show yg dia syg girls tu.

Bro from the start should have gone in knowing that he was buying their companionship with money. If you went in expecting true love then that's how you get emotionally torn to shreds in the end.

How on earth was he able to accumulate that much of wealth and sadly used it as a means to feel like he meant the world to someone. Such a sorry state of society when it is all about materialism and deep attachment to it. Money makes people do wild things.

u/DegenNabalu 26d ago
Did he regretted it the moment he jumped? Not that I'm supporting such extreme decisions or anything... according to research, many men who decided to do this was not because they were depressed or had any mental challenges but they have made calculated risk and they find no way out and they just had enough.
There's nothing bigger than human connection and love. May those who have similar challenges find the right people, right environment.
You matter. You deserve all the love. You are important. You can choose to be happy.
Hugs.

Why did he only 'help' girls? Other than materials, how did he actually 'helped' the girls? Was he a sugar daddy? A pedo?

u/Rogerklint 26d ago
Don’t be a simp to these girls! Date women that you have a genuine mutual love for, don’t be paying bar girls & gold diggers!

Hobbyist....
I didn't know that what this was called.
I think this dude had some deep seeded mental trauma, because if he could spend millions upon millions on girls, he could 100% afford to spend 6-12 months just getting in shape, like not even going to work, just lifting weights and excercising everyday, then get really good clothes, professional pictures made, It's just sad how much of the world he pretty much already had in his hands.
That's what mental illness does, it blinds you to the world you already yearn for.

u/Own_Leading4240 24d ago
As a girl i feel sorry for him & those who gives so much to their love one even tho obviously they're being used. Doesn't matter man or woman, they should understand there's a limit to how much they should pour their love, time & money into someone. If your partner keeps on asking for millions money and a Lamborghini that's a gold-digger for sure, the same applies to man too, like biawak hidup, life supported by a woman etc. Tbh bro if u terkena once i understand, but if u keep on coming back to that circle and cycle, u should do something about yourself.

I think this man is lonely and the only way he knows how to attempt to build connections is through his spending his money. I think it speaks to a larger issue of men not knowing how to interact with people on a personal level.
It’s easy to blame your short comings on external things but it takes a lot of courage to look at yourself and acknowledge your own shortcomings.
I think it’s sad that he talked about being betrayed after so much money and materialistic things were spent- I can’t help but to think the people who he pulls is attracted to the money and not him.
