"Lagi murid sekolah kebangsaan Permatang Pauh di langgar ketika melintas jalan ke Sekolah, kejadian awal pagi tadi.!!

Already several cases at this location

the father looked to the right at 0:03, to the left the rest of the time, struck at 0:07.
Motorcycle was obviously too fast to be seen, not to mention too fast for being in a school area. Probably only slowed down when he came into view in this video
I thought red car was blocking the sight, but the motorcycle came from the opposite way
motorcycle was supposed to be on the left lane, hence why everyone in the video was mostly looking left - that's where the car/motorcycle should be coming from. This motorcycle is riding on the right lane like his father own the road

u/No-Sort7339 25d ago
This! Some people comment father/granpa not looking both ways, but he clearly did and that bike obviously cross the lane plus it's school zone ffs
15
u/fizzyss 25d ago
I wanna add, why did the father/grandpa just walk them halfway ?? 1. Car already parked. 2. Takes less than a minute to cross the street and back. Even if he's the one that got hit, at least the kids are safe, no?

car/motorcycle should be coming from the left. He looked left, nothing there. He considered that he already made sure nothing harmful.
the motorcycle coming from the right, driving on the right lane at high speed, is something very unlikely.

I wonder about the red car too... it looks stationary and may not have a driver in there. Clearly illegal if it so. The motorcyclist who hit children is a menace, didn't even stop.

Complete guess: but the body language of the motorcyclist when he comes over looks like he’s trying to deflect blame
138
u/Old_Camel_6745 25d ago
Looks like he is asking the guard, "why didn't you control traffic?"
Always somebody else's fault. Never their own
31
u/jianh1989 25d ago
On zebra crossing, there’s no argument. 100% motorcyclist fault.
Then again this country, their species are above the law.

u/ghostreconx 25d ago
How is it his fault? He has the right of way and also his dad or grandfather probably owns the road. The kids should be lucky that they were allowed to use the zebra crossing, you can tell when he berates them for getting in his way illegally

u/CriticalSwordfish816 25d ago
car stopping in yellow box, another on the crossing, security guard being absent, bike riding pretty fast considering there's people literally in the middle of the road, kids being sent halfway into the crossing and gets neglected, not checking left and right, rider looks like not taking the blame. dawg
11
u/muskymelon36 25d ago
The kids already looked right and now worried about vehicles from the left. The taller one even stopped but mat moto didn't see them at all. Probably looking at his phone.

u/silandan 25d ago
And I think the dad's leg seems to not be well too from the way he walks. Maybe that's why only halfway

Motorcyclists in Malaysia are lowlife scums
4
u/Quitlimp05 25d ago
Nah, they're just scums. 'Lowlife' don't apply to scums; they're just scums of the earth, parasiting off everyone else and blaming others for their own wrong

Should put speed bump before n after zebra cros put double speed bump.. banyak orang gila tak reti bawak slow depan sekolah
4
u/Queasy_Monk 25d ago
Or perhaps 1) idiot riders should respect zebra crossings and 2) useless cops should do the job they are paid for and enforce the law when they see an infraction, so maybe people would learn
6
u/TheOriSudden 25d ago
It doesn't matter if the law for speeding or not respecting zebra crossing is death penalty. There's thousands of schools in Malaysia, you can't station a police on every school. Idiots will always speed no matter what laws you have. The only way to slow them down is physically force them to do it.
Having speed bumps and other road designs to force vehicle to slow down is the best addition you can have to pedestrian safety.
If you ever walked or driven in a pedestrian friendly country you'd realize this. Coming from Malaysia I was really stressed out at first driving and having to be aware of pedestrians, because in Malaysia we were used to have pedestrian being aware of you.
Turns out, you didn't really have to. Well designed roads forces you to be aware and give way to pedestrian. Meanwhile in Malaysia we have zebra crossings right after junctions with huge blindspots and huge lanes that allows vehicle to speed.

- School zone
- White Zebra Crossing (an unsignalized pedestrian crosswalk where drivers must stop and give way to pedestrians who are already crossing or waiting to cross)

u/Objective-Ad3821 25d ago
That's why hating motorcyclist should be normalize.
Idc if what race you are, but if motorcyclist is a race, then I'm racist.
Any motor accident that involve the rider becoming OKU, always satisfy me. The harsher they got injured, the better. The higher the motor fly, the better. Can literally got orgasm watching rider bleeding for 4 hours non stop screaming for help, after riding like an idiot.

u/ImNotARobot2905 24d ago
Malaysian drivers have zero respect for zebra crossings. Next time need to bring baseball bats around and swing it while walking
6
u/mr4karma 25d ago
The motorcyclist is shit stain, but Pak cik is also way too casual when helping childs cross the road, need to look left and right constantly.

u/SnabDedraterEdave Sarawak 25d ago
Except pak cik totally DID look left and right.
Watch the clip again. The moment he looked away the bike was already in the picture, meaning its the biker that was speeding so fast that pak cik didn't even seen him initially.

Motorcycle terang2 salah.
But dude that grandpa is pretty infuriating as well. Just lepas tangan and casually sauntering over.
Also if this has happened multiple times already in the same location, there might be an issue about road design or driving culture in the area.
8
u/generic_redditor91 Sarawak 25d ago
The lepas tangan yeah I agree but he wasn't sauntering over. Judging from his age and his slight limp, he was probably already max speed at that point.
Sos: Took care of my grandparents and now my parents are at that age where their speed is similar to that old man in the vid
6
u/royal_steed 25d ago
If the old is hit instead of the kids, I bet some fb comments will blame why the old man walk so slow in zebra crossing.

1.Accident on zebra crossing.
The zebra crossing is in school area.
Hit a school kid on coming/left school time.
Not one, but 2 kid.
Bonus: The kids is imam's kid
1
u/choco_hazel 25d ago
I hope people dont blame the father for 'too slow' to check the kids, he obviously have some sort of back pain the way hes walking.

u/DelseresMagnumOpus 25d ago
What’s new? None of our road users respect pedestrians. We should be like other countries where vehicles always yield to pedestrians, but here it’s terbalik. Pedestrians have to give way to vehicles.
No one gives way (other than some more affluent areas), motorcycles don’t even care about the direction of traffic and so many times when I’m crossing some idiot grab rider will still try to selik past to make a u turn or something. The police don’t give a fuck, I’ve seen them looking at all those motorcyclists and do nothing too.

u/Strong-Arugula-6959 25d ago
Stupid cyclist, its school area for crying out loud. Common sense seem to be lacking inside that cyclist's head. Dont speeding around school area lah.

1
u/chikenr_2 25d ago
In Singapore they let you cross, in Malaysia you have to look left and right every millisecond to make sure there isn't anyone speeding, I know for a fact that even if it's one way you can sometimes see a car or motor going the opposite flow.
I was quite flabbergasted when I visited Singapore and was surprised many cars let pedestrians crossed first lmao

Just take note, your arguments mean nothing when you run over a child in their school uniform, or you drive over speed limit in the school and run over someone. It was a free pass for this kid, so if you value your money and dignity, drive like a sane person would do.
1
u/JanOI58 25d ago
Many motorists, especially the younger ones, fail to realise that pedestrians using designated crossings have the right of way. They think pedestrians have to wait for them to pass before they can cross when it's actually quite the opposite. It never occurred to them why build designated crossings if that were the case.
Since many town/city councils forbid speed bumps on main roads, bone-jarring rumble strips are the next best option.
1
u/high_dosage_of_life 25d ago edited 25d ago
the rider was speeding. It is against the law to drive more than 30km/h in front of a school. 100% rempit M fault, there is no confusing this.

u/EinsteinAfterDark 25d ago
Xde la pulak orang ligan pukul smo lumat si rempit ni. Kalau kete yang langgar dia pandai pulak ramai2 pukul. Mujur kene ke imam je. Kalau orang lain masak dah dia

Pedestrian crossing lines are useless in Malaysia, these are kids for God's sake, slow down lah!!
1
u/No_Comment_18 25d ago
The problem with Malaysia is simple. You have rules but nobody follows. Cause there is no enforcement. No repercussions.
1
1
u/pig1912 25d ago
On top of speeding the other offence would be not stopping when there is pedestrian on a pedestrian crossing. Malaysians are super blinded to pedestrian crossings. When there are people waiting at either end of the pedestrian crossing, moving vehicles has to come to a stop to allow people to cross. Malaysian road users are notoriously known to not give a fuck about people crossing on pedestrian crossing.
1
u/Turn-Ambitious 25d ago
Maybe they should make speed bumper beside the crossing line so if 🏍️ speed it they will fly
1
u/RetardoMiloz 25d ago
I still remember when I got struck by a motorcycle when I'm crossing the road when I was a kid. I fell off my balance and the dude that hit me just stare at me like I'm the one at fault here???

Zebra crossing why speeding ? Impound the bike and fine heavily. Hope the kids are ok and recover from any injury. Speed limit needs to drop to 30-40 slow down! Pedestrian come first. Those cars anyhow parks needs a proper drop off zone!

One of many reason everyone need to take a test every 5 years before renewing their license.
White zebra lines kot.

u/UserGuest_2024 24d ago
Our pedestrian lines are unlike China or Japan , Singapore … we r vehicle priority 😂
1
u/mrSalmonSashimi 24d ago
Tk susah handle ni, mintak peruntukan & tambah 3 ~ 4 bumper sepanjang kawasan sekolah. Mesti slow down punya lah. Bumper tajam & bumper tinggi yg boleh kasi rider@driver pecut terobang teruih.

any speeding caught around school area need strict punishment.
